  • Hey everyone thanks for the comments and the likes, I have picked up the guitar again after a long time of not playing, and am working on some originals, I'm going to post them on youtube when I'm done so subscribe if you want to see them

  • Stairway solo is so easy... Achilles is a lot more complex

  • How difficult is this? Harder or easier than Stairway's solo?

  • @StillStuckLearning In my opinion Achilles is harder than Stairway. I would say this one's definitely intermediate, whereas Stairway I would say is actually easy comparatively. Definitely not a HARD solo, though. Just takes a lot of playbacks to get the little intricacies and timing. Also, in my opinion, this one blows Stairway out of the water... Don't know why Stairway is always at the top of best solo lists when things like this exist from the same player.

  • that was great

  • Very nice, thank you

  • nice job! do you do tabs or sheet music?

  • well played mate. very good

  • where is ur toggle switch?

    nice playing btw

  • there is no toggle swith, because it only has one pickup, and thanks

  • I see two pickups man...

  • the silver piece that looks like a pickup by the neck is actually a piece of alluminium sheating that i put behind it haha

  • @JuliusGulius

    o lol k now i get it

    nice job man

  • good job, but your vibrato could be better....

  • that pickup makes a great difference in the sound =D

  • i like teles a lot but you bottom out with them on the higher frets.

  • Wheres your pickup switch???

  • Excellent playing :) (Hell yeah, i m interested!!!)

  • this isnt the afinity series, this is an old beatup squier guitar from the 80's. i just put a really nice pickup in the bridge. if you buy a tele you wont regret it

  • what pickup? will it be compatible with the affinity series? nice playing btw

  • I'm buying a squire tele. and changing the pick ups to hot rails. I hope i get a metal guitar sound with a blues touch

  • ya smaller vers. of tele. i got a origanal 1959 les paul i want to trade 4 1 of them

  • see---Achilles Last Stand FIXED and UNFIXED--BTW nice!!

  • Where's the pickup selector switch?

  • Comment removed

  • great tone man

  • im starting to think page never played any solos with the les paui in the studio

  • he didnt only live he used gibsons

  • actually he only used the tele for the first two albums... after that he started using his customized les paul... he could cut the coils on it and make it sound exactly like a telecaster... he really is a genious with a guitar...

  • ive heard his public reason for that but i wonder what the real reason is .maybe cause he wasalways on herion alot and lp are easy to muff with or maybe becuse they have a fuller sound but then again you can do that with your amp who knows

  • You are very good!

  • great, the best song of led zeppelin

  • agreed

  • @banega05 imo too

  • I like the way you picked up on the stumbling feel of the timing in the first few bars, that's one of the thing that really makes this solo work so well with the song. Starting awkwardly but building up to unstoppable momentum is pretty much the theme of the song

  • Hey by any chance are you a guitar teacher becase the place i go to there is a teacher named julius and he kinda looks like you

  • no im no teacher. my name is actually julian I just made my name juliusgulius to be a goof

  • thanks dude, ten years gone solo coming up soon

  • hey thanks for the positive feedback. makes me feel pretty good being compared with one of the most popular guitarists on youtube. and that is correct an opinion cant be wrong

  • u get my subscriptionn.

  • thanks man, got any requests?

  • yea,do ummm.

    black dog! :D

    or all along the watchtower.

    orrr. hey joe ,loll.

  • his sloppy style gives the feeling of rock while live, I say! I mean he improvises to cover up a mistake, example like he repeats it twice as if he meant it... Like at TSRTS, right before Black Dog, he played a part of Bring it on Home and he did a mistake, but he did it again and that mistake would be easy to fix it the 2nd time, so he does it impurpose... And yes indeed, it sounds amazing!

  • here here

  • how is telecaster? squire right

  • Telecasters are really good guitars, mines done me some justice. Jimmy used Teles for a lot of there recordings.

  • @jonathonpvaldez17 I think he used a tele for this solo to

  • awesome

  • good tone and good playing!

  • MY FIREND HAS SAME GUITAR!, its made of ash wood isnt it? very delicate

  • Alder, it's still pretty sweet

  • nicely done!

  • good job, nice guitar

  • YOUR NAME IS DA BOMB!!!

  • dude, that rocked ! great work. one of the bets solos ever. it's all about feel and you got that. keep it up !

  • really nice! could anyone hint me to the whereabouts of some good tabs/lessons to this song? :)

  • Ultimateguitar is the best around look it up on google good luck

  • which color is that?

  • im gonna take a wild stab. natural? not sure...

  • ash

  • for some reason i always relate telecasters to turtleneck shirts. oh well

  • Right!! That's hillarious, cause it's true!!

  • lmao im glad were all in the same boat!

  • thats a sweet telecaster

  • fender?

  • I could pick up a little bit by watching this guy. Seeing and hearing him perform the techniques is great.

  • Page used everything from Teles to Strats to Pauls and an even SG to record

  • and danelectros

  • so your saying you cany listen to LZ if you dont own a tele or a les paul?

  • Any real Led Zeppelin fan who's a guitarist knows Page recorded with Teles. Therefore, most real LZ fans own a telecaster, as well as a Les Paul if it can be afforded.

  • zep 1 was on a tele, but most everything else was on a lp except the stairway solo, that was on a tele. your welcome

  • REAL Zeppelin fans aren't pompous pricks, and can enjoy good music, without concern of what type of equipment the guitarist is using.

  • Stiff and robotic? Jun's versions all have such feeling its crazy.

  • this guy rocks as much as jun

  • why r we talking about watching a users video to get better.... shouldent you listen to the song or watch jimmy page?!

  • nice teli:)

  • Looks just like some e minor pendatonic rifts together. Thanks, shouldn't be too hard to learn now right?

  • ur so wrong, jun626 is a beast, check out his othe songs. and listen to the song, please

  • Good playing playing man.

  • Watch Juno626's version & take copious notes.

    :)

  • his was just as good

  • garbear - check out seveertrebor's rush covers, they're very good as well.

  • I have half of it down. I practice for about three to four hours a day. I will probably post a video soon of this

  • i been playing for almost a year now and have made some progression. I have learned some van halen, Metallica, and led zeppelin but i have hit a speed bump. Is this a good song for me to learn to get past that speed bump.

  • exelent man this is a fucin amazing solo

  • is this the squier affintiy series or a real Fender?

  • its an older squier from the 80's. and it has a different pickup

  • are the squier affinty series ($169) any good??

  • Hey man, I would just go and get the STandard series for $200. I also saw a sick double humbucking Squier Tele, look up "Squier by Fender Tele Custom Electric Guitar" for $230.

  • what type of tele is that and where did u get it

  • Respect...you can actually do what I played with an Air Guitar all these years when nobody was about...

    :-)

  • nice man. your stairway acoustic solo was sick as well.

  • thanks alot. im gonna put up achilles last stand solo acoustic version to so check bac

  • thanks man. i ususually learn jimmy page solos quicker then i learn other guitarists beacause i play alot of zeppelin so i kinda adapted to his style.

  • its the recording. i looked everywe=re for a backing track but couldnt find shit

  • it was 79 ;)

  • im going to get this guitar. good choice?

  • best guitar solo ever written by man

  • alot of people agree with you. its pages favorite song by zeppelin to.

  • bravo!!

  • This guitar: Fender Squier Vintage Mod.Tele SH Metallic Red

And this amplifier: Frontman FM 212 R Combo, 100 Watt, 2x12 "Speaker, 3 Kanäle

They are a good choice? ... They are good?

  • not really. Telecasters are too twangy for my tastes, and solid state amplifiers dont really sound that good.

  • buying a guitar is somthing you cant ask somone else about.its a matter of personal preference. if your playing a low end guitar from zellers and it feels good buy it.

  • Teles are amazing

  • a little slower than page's but still awesome.

  • im playing along with pages how can it be slower

  • Excellent man!!! Thank you!

  • awesome. theat guitars really nice too. how much did you pay for it?

  • i told my unlce i want to play elecrtic so he gave it to me. pretty good deal haha.

  • You were good with what you played. You did skip a few minor parts and I don't blame you, because when stuffs too hard you need to change it and not screw it up.

  • yeah. i kinda got board with learning some parts and just threw in my own thing that i thaught sounded cool like the bend at 40 seconds.

  • Good job. I'm positive Page used a telecaster on that solo, not a Les Paul. So you're on the right track. He played more tele on Zep albums than a lot of people realize.

  • Page used a Strat in "The Crunge"(houses of the holy)

    also. about achilles..

when U pay close attention to the solo, you will hear that fat tone that comes from a Gibson. ;)

  • Nice job on the solo. Argueably, one of the best Zep tunes. Kick ass!

  • what model squier is that?

  • i have no clue. its from like 88 i think. probably just a standard.those shiny things that look like pickups are actually just pieces of sheet metal so you cant see the wood through the pickhaurd

  • well its beautiful.

i was just looking into one lately.

    so thanks.

  • nice job,you played that really well,i also posted this song, give it a look and see what you think,i think we pretty much played it very similiar as far as scales being used.

  • yeah telecasters rule even though this one is just a squier

  • even a squier can put out some good sounds. If your using a distort, it doesnt matter to me.

  • doesn't matter about the guitar its the player.if u give jimmy page any guitar through any amp he'll still sound sweet !!

  • Great job I love that solo and song, I use to listen to it when it first came out over and over again.
