Damon Albarn is one of the most talented singer/songwriter/musicians Britain has ever produced. My only slight irritation is how he has pretended to be working class many times in his career, when he clearly isn't. He has always had a patronising fascination with working class people and, sometimes, ethnic minorities too. You can see on the stage here a banner saying 'Mangrove' - that was a black persons cafe in Notting Hill in the 1960's. Why have that banner on stage Damon?

the "Mangrove" sign is on PAULS amp, and Paul grew up in Brixton in the 60's and took part on the Notting Hill Riots in the 70's.

I understand perfectly why Paul has that sign with him, his really from a working class family and lived in the western London, where most of the black immigrants lived. And just because we've mentioned Notting Hill, god I'd love to see the carnival! I mean, I've heard so many rumours about the carnival... Man, wish I could see it someday...
