It doesn't matter if the train wasn't close to hitting it or not, If the crossing activates, lights are on, and gates are down, going through or around a crossing is ILLEGAL. It is ILLEGAL. It is ILLEGAL. Do we finally get it? If a cop catches you running a crossing, that's a hefty fine.

I love Griffith, Indiana. My grandma and uncle live there. Many great memories of that place. Not old enuff to remember Chessie System, New York Central, Erie, and others, but I sure do miss the days when the Grand Trunk Western and EJ&E would regularly go through that town. Great memories.

So is the NYC Joliet Branch, which paralleled the J from Joliet. The J branch to Porter is also gone. Some of the diamonds were actually IN Broad Street! The street itself is still busy. I remember a few years back I was railfanning the junction, and it took nearly 20 minutes to cross!
