The sugaring method is done correctly but the waxing should not hurt as well- she doesn't position her body correctly then is pulling the strip in an upward & out which causes pain. If she would have done it correctly there should be No residue No Mess. #Fail
Yes, but how can I make this? I've tried several recipies and outlines put on the web and youtube. It always ends up being overdone so it's rock hard, or underdone so it doesn't hold, and I've never been able to get it to pull off using one holding together peice. Someone help! If you have a recipe that actually works so that I don't need to use strips but use it just as above at 1:00. Please let me know...
No recipe or video I've seen so far as worked... :(
@ThrasherSLUT I don't think so. I get this done frequently and my lady explained that it's organic so you can use it anywhere. It also helps remove those dark spots you have on your under arm and inner thighs. That happens because there is dirt on your body and you shave in those areas so you pull the dirt in your pore. This however helps remove the dirt.
you didn't use the proper technique, you have to make the paste white, while putting hair first in it, them rolled in the skin, not melting it, that you doing is another method, not egyptian sugaring
@teamcocono1 I think it also has something to do with the camera. Look up "sugaring - the gentle hair removal method" (it may also be one of the videos on the side), and that shows a man getting waxed for the first time with sugar was. This video is much better at showing the technique to use, but that one shows how well it works.
actually i tried this once and its really good but thats nt exactly how u do it u first need to move the paste with ur fingers until it holds it self well and then u put it on ur skin and pull it in one quick snap its really good 4 ur skin too its kinda like a scrub it removes all the dead skin n stuff much better than waxing n it hurts less but u need 2 have the time 4 it if ur doin it 4 the first time
the secret to the paste is the temp. if u look at caramel, brittle, toffee their made with the same basic ingredients but cook at and to diff temps. check out the video by lilikoilooks on how to make it
@MarlenaKeller I assume you talking about the sugar paste/wax. It's hurts a little because you are course pulling hair from the root but doesn't hurt as bad as regular waxing.Regular wax hurts so much because it actually takes your skin with it. Unlike regular wax, sugar paste/wax only takes the hair. Now if you hairs are long, say like around you bikini area or armpit, it does hurt a little more but the best thing to fight the sting is to after you sugar the area is to press down w/ your hand.
...is used with pieces of cotton cloth pads (from an old T-shirt or so) and applied along with hair direction but removed against hair growth. Result of this technique? Good, but it doesn't last as much as the paste technique, the paste is just perfect, only to know the RIGHT RECIPE!
@theandyandsamyshow I also like it better than the artificial wax because you know whether or not the sugar paste is fresh by the way it looks. I have been to some salons where they tried to re-use the wooden spatula. That is a big, NASTY, NO NO!
@gerbluv They say in all recipes from the net: 2 cups sugar, 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup lemon juice. BUT, there's always a "but", I've tried many times to get that right consistency they show us from profesiional salons, and no success! WHY? Because there's a SECRET ingredient they don't tell us, it makes the paste elastic and flexible but still sticky and not had at all!
I've removed hair with my gel (make sure it's not overcooked as it shoud stay white to little yellow), this technique is...
@djherself : You said that there is some SECRET ingredient which keeps the paste pliable and elastic. What is that? My paste came out fine for use with strips, but becomes so sticky and difficult to pull back when used as a paste directly.
Well I honestly wish I knew what's THE secret ingredient. I got this information from another blogger who said in her "do it yourself salon" page, that she heard about "guar gum" using to make the paste more pliable. Personally I don't have that, I tried to use gelatine instead, but it didn't work, so I'm on level 0 now, I'll stick with sugar-lemon-water recipe, but with a better control over the cooking time, color, and how hot the stove is.
Here's a video that I found very informative, and last time I did my paste, I watched how this lady made it and it worked! Just check it out on youtube: type "Azúcar!. Para Depilarse?" it's in Spanish, but very clear demonstration. NOTE: I tried to link it but youtube doesn't allow URL linking in a comment.
@FranFFXII tried guar gum doesn't work when using the paste method only the gel - cloth method. but arabic gum and citric acid purified water and sugar is my next bet ~ good luck !
@djherself magic ingredient arabic gum some say guar gum both are thickeners to keep the paste from melting some use sugar water citric acid arabic gum heat up to 250 F never over 260! and slightly warm it up before use
When I tried to make the sugar it gets hard before I can even put it on. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I don't understand how they keep it soft like that.
@altargirl89 more water i think... just experiment a bit then and when u think its good try it, its nota cooking receipt it just an gel that sticks and is soft.
@candykiss230 You can either make some, or buy some from Alexandria Professionals. I think it's 2 cups white cane sugar, 1/4 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup water.
apparently we have a new word for being rude on the internet - 'trolling'!! read about it in the economist and it said that the anonymity of the internet meant that people felt that they could say what they wanted :)
Does that wax need to be warm?

@altargirl89 they use arabic gum or guar gum a thickener wich helps with the consistency from becoming to hard or soft
