this is the scariest race crash ive seen.. they dont slow down because i think its just a section yellow and theyre still racing.. this is bad though and i think as soon as the first two went off race officials should have considered circumstances and brought out a full yellow or red or whatever just make them stop on the spot so its fair.. maybe this is a dumb suggestion but racing on isnt the best right there

What happens? There is oil on the track. It doesnt effect racing when the surface is dry. Then a quick rain it becomes slick as ice. After about 5 minutes the track regains its grip. Evidently this rain storm dropped a lot of water in a short period of time.

I was there that day at Watkins Glen. The rain hit INSTANTLY and someone put down oil at that corner. Officially the wildest thing I have ever witnessed in person. I was just up the front stretch a bit and saw car after car going straight across into the wall instead of making the corner.

Trust me none of you can drive better then them. They are great drivers driving on the limit. Obviously there was some lubricant on the surface. During the dry you typically run a different line then in the wet. There must have been some oil spilt on the rain line causing what you see. Perhaps there was no surface flag or the surface flag was covered by spray. When there is a crash and they are throwing a yellow at the pro level they don't slow at all, it is a race.
