I love these shows but it's amazing how they have various visual bloopers though out. In the earlier scenes, the kitchen has no window and table when Hazel first heads to her bedroom. Later when she exits her bedroom into the kitchen, suddenly a window and a table appear. In other episodes, you see the exterior of the Baxter house where it as a front brick step leading to the front path, in this episode the "stage" version of the front of the house, there is no step.
@ManTexDal . Sorry but you are mistaken. The pilot episode was called "Hazel and the Playground." Also the house is exactly the same except for having two different kitchens in this episode.
@ManTexDal That seems right. If you look at Shirley Booth's appearance between "Dorothy's Birthday" and the official episode #1, "Hazel & The Playground," Shirley is slightly thinner. It takes a few months between the time a pilot sells and the start of shooting the series. It would have given her time to shed a few pounds. When they eventually aired "Dorothy's Birthday" as episode #23, they probably reshot a scene or two with the new sets which makes for the different interior looks.
Another terrific episode from the first season. Funny, warm and full of heart. One of my favorites. The love that Hazel has for the Baxters is very touching in this episode and you can tell in this episode how much they cared about her in return. Thanks for posting!!!
Shirley Booth was such an amaZing actress!
