I actually agree with this review. The first Saw was ok. The only thing that makes it good is the fact Dr. Gordon was in it and is the one to end of the series.
I love how you show to of the dead bodies when you say "this flim is not derpaved, this film is not sick." Saw was a great movie, in know way did you review this movie fairly. Any one who has seen the movie can tell that you are almost basicly lying at some points.
@TheDarkFrontier well anyone who has watched this review could figure it out. If you are going to repeat the Dialogue in the film, atleast say it the way it was said. When he was doing the voices of Adam and Gordon, they did not say anything he says they said, it's like he's trying to dumb the movie down to make it seem worse than it is. He described everything much worse than it was. He does it for entertainment purposes I'm sure.
Then he's not lying, he's just doing it for entertainment purposes, yes. But the problem is here, even if the film had outstanding dialogue, it would still be a bad film on plot grounds.

The plot and the twist isn't hard to follow, that's not his argument here. His argument is that its so unnecessarily convoluted and poorly thought out, the screen play suffers because of it.

I kinda understand that Hoffman knowing what some people would do since he's a cop. But how would Jigsaw and Amanda really would know? One's a druggie and the other is a engineer. This movie is basically like watching two people sitting in a room, and trying to find out which one of them does the least convincing american accent.

You say that Dr Gordon had nothing to worry about when he was accused of a crime? You've obviously never been in that situation so you wouldn't know. If the cops suspect a person enough they can obviously find ways to get you arrested even if you are innocent

I think in some ways as far as the men in the bathrooms, it was almost too realistic. I mean you talk about the dialgogue that was used, in which, that made me laugh as well.

I enjoy these videos, but you made a few mistakes.
The reason why the cops asked him to stick around was because one of them (the black guy) still doesn't believe that he is innocent. The Dr. later says that the cop kept suspecting him, and that he needed to get a restraining order to keep the now ex-cop away from him. What the cop was trying to triger was a confession, since he still (rather stubornly) believes that the Dr. is the killer.

'Hostel' isn't a bad movie, though everyone seems to think it is. The first 'Saw' film is a way better quality wise than what was to follow, even though I find the series entertaining.
The saw movies are masterpieces, people just find them "Disturbing" or "Stupid", because of advertisement and annoying reviews like this. They're really well done. I enjoy them. You are right about them not being scary or grotesque. They're not, though they are some of the greatest psychological films of all time.

Out of many, I actually think Saw was good, and I don't get why so much people dislike it. I mean... The killer had a reason. The killer was smart. the traps were smart, the way the story went was smart. But I agree though for the suspect part.
It's funny how people try to justify that John didn't kill his victims. He admits to having injected about half of them with poison that will kill them within a certain time period. Kidnapping aside, that, alone, is murder. Whether they can escape that fate is irrelevant. They shouldn't have to escape it because they should never have been put through it by John nor anyone else to begin with.
I always saw SAW as the OK film that spawned a million shitty sequels.
But really SAW operates on adventure game logic. To be honest. Combine "Shirt" with "Bath Plug" to get "Tape Recorder" is NOTHING to any adventure game fanatic :D
Generally I agree with some points, what I do not agree with is the way death scenes were shot. I mean, I was impressed by the way camera spins around the woman. This was not made to make it a good presentation of details. It was made to settle emotional background for the scene and the state of her mind. I totally loved the way the scene was shot. It scared the crap out of me.

Due to the survival of both Amanda and Daniel, they had passed their tests. Therefore, It was made possible for Daniel's father (Eric Mathews) to be tested.

John Kramer anticipated the possibilities, and allowed the game to play out.

As far as anticipation goes; You would be surprised as to what the human mind can conjure up. That is not to imply that someone of John Kramer's character can truly anticipate something that intricate, but at the same point it instills the fact that the chance of survival remains as long as a sacrifice is made to compensate.

You say that Dr Gordon had nothing to worry about when he was accused of a crime? You've obviously never been in that situation so you wouldn't know. If the cops suspect a person enough they can obviously find ways to get you arrested even if you are innocent

I think in some ways as far as the men in the bathrooms, it was almost too realistic. I mean you talk about the dialgogue that was used, in which, that made me laugh as well.
But an average person put in this kind of situation they wouldn't be thinking as clearly as posible, sure there was some stuff that i was like 'eh no thats not realistic, nobody would think that, etc'
But some of it was right on

I enjoy these videos, but you made a few mistakes.
The reason why the cops asked him to stick around was because one of them (the black guy) still doesn't believe that he is innocent. The Dr. later says that the cop kept suspecting him, and that he needed to get a restraining order to keep the now ex-cop away from him. What the cop was trying to triger was a confession, since he still (rather stubornly) believes that the Dr. is the killer.

'Hostel' isn't a bad movie, though everyone seems to think it is. The first 'Saw' film is a way better quality wise than what was to follow, even though I find the series entertaining.

The saw movies are masterpieces, people just find them "Disturbing" or "Stupid", because of advertisement and annoying reviews like this. They're really well done. I enjoy them. You are right about them not being scary or grotesque. They're not, though they are some of the greatest psychological films of all time.

It's funny how people try to justify that John didn't kill his victims. He admits to having injected about half of them with poison that will kill them within a certain time period. Kidnapping aside, that, alone, is murder. Whether they can escape that fate is irrelevant. They shouldn't have to escape it because they should never have been put through it by John nor anyone else to begin with.

But really SAW operates on adventure game logic. To be honest. Combine "Shirt" with "Bath Plug" to get "Tape Recorder" is NOTHING to any adventure game fanatic :D

Generally I agree with some points, what I do not agree with is the way death scenes were shot. I mean, I was impressed by the way camera spins around the woman. This was not made to make it a good presentation of details. It was made to settle emotional background for the scene and the state of her mind. I totally loved the way the scene was shot. It scared the crap out of me.

@IGNsucks Daniel Matthews was not instructed by Amanda Young nor John Kramer to kill Xavier. The events within the house took place before Detective Eric Matthews, Detective Kerry, and a SWAT team lead by Officer Rigg raided the factory in which Jigsaw (John Kramer) was residing. Due to the survival of both Amanda and Daniel, they had passed their tests. Therefore, It was made possible for Daniel's father (Eric Mathews) to be tested.

Because she had survived her second test, (First being the Reverse Bear Trap) John Kramer accepted her as worthy of carrying on his "life's work", as he told Amanda; "You must meet death in order to be reborn."
John Kramer anticipated the possibilities, and allowed the game to play out.

As far as anticipation goes; You would be surprised as to what the human mind can conjure up. That is not to imply that someone of John Kramer's character can truly anticipate something that intricate, but at the same point it instills the fact that the chance of survival remains as long as a sacrifice is made to compensate.

So at the end when the macho dude was about to kill amanda, what did she do, she crawled on the floor next to the kid waiting to die, THERE IS NO WAY SHE OR JIGSAW COULD HAVE KNOWN THAT THE KID WOULD HAVE FAKED BEING DEAD SO THAT HE COULD LURE THE MACHO GUY INTO A POSITION OF FALSE SECURITY SO THAT HE COULD KILL HIM. these movies suck.
