The movie was good and all, but it was waaay to fast paced. They should have spread it out more. Would have been way better like an 1hr and a half. Not little over 50min. That's half-assing it. Too straight forward too. It's more like a special, not a movie.

It's been in my head for a while, the idea that when Tenchi "destroyed" Yuzuha, what he really destroyed was the darkness in Yuzuha, and she could come back, mischivous, but not evil, trying to hide the truth from Mayuka.

No, she's not in any other series. This movie came after all the series had been completed. There's Tenchi Muyo which is the OVA (original video animation), Tenchi in Tokyo and Tenchi Universe... There are three movies, so there's a third after this one, but it has nothing to do with this movie and there's no Miyuka.

This movie confuses me over the fact of which universe it takes place in. There are facts that say it takes place in Tenchi Muyo's due to Light Hawk Wings, but that can't be because of Kiyone. My only assumption, is that it takes place in an alternate universe from Muyo and Universe. But I dunno.
There are an infinite amount of universes..It's very well that this one could be made up from the hopes and aspirations of the original beings.

This one had a really happy ending and the song is beautiful. Plus the images of Christmas and how Mayuka got a second chance and finally got to spend Christmas with everyone.
I also like how it showed that Ryoko couldn't kill her and that she loved her too (that one pic with her and the baby was sweet)...then her little line about being her personal trainer and being "tough as hell!" LMAO!

kione isn't in the GXP series, but she's in the Universe and Tokyo series. the GXP series follows the OVA and Ryo-Ohki, but Universe, Tokyo and the first and third movies follow their own place. but this movie, number 2, follows right after OVA and Ryo-Ohki, though it's kind of it's own thing, not really canon with anything. and the Tenchi dub is one of the best ever done, for all of the series, so how can you say it sucks gokudomatic?!

I watched this movie (daughter of darkness) the first time in dubbed English, because I didn't had the choice and I really wanted to see it. Result, I enjoyed but my pleasure was cut by half because of the dub. When I watched with sub, 100% fun. I'm a big Tenchi Muyo fan but I would never see it in dub if there is a choice to have the original voices, especially the songs.

Ahhhhh... A good happy ending. Tenchi finally reunites with his daughter (now as a baby)and th rest of the girls gonna make a perfect team for motherhood.
Washu was the only one who knew darn well how to take care of babies. Funny, that in some instances, she was the last person that I expected to take care of the baby. She was a pro. :)
she DID have a child before. so that really does make her one of the smartest genius's in the universe. Not only smarts, but has that instinct. If you add in the fact that she's a multi-dimensional omniscience being [end of the OVA series] (along w/ tsunami and ti-, te-, whoever that other chick is) Washu is pretty much one of the most experienced beings ever in existence.
Oh, I know that. :) I should've been more specific when I made my post. When I first saw that episode, I thought, "she was the last person I expected to take care of a baby"... that is, until she mentioned what she went through towards the end of the episode "Hello, Baby" in the OVA series.
Yuzuha reminds me a little of Washu...even sounds like her. I hope they make more Tenchi Muyo series and movies...I need to buy the DVDs. Tenchi Muyo is the BEST ANIME EVER, hands down.
Hmm well it makes sense that Miyuka was back as a baby. Washu is a genius and basically used the same procidure as The demon of darkness, buuut- The Demon used a time rift to make Miyuka age then gave her false memeories. Like Washu and Tenchi's Grandpa discovered before, "she was from the future".
Plus even Washu teh mad scientist wouldn't deprive sweet Miyuka of having REAL family memories. =)
I love this movie. The animation and the colors, everythings so beautiful to look at it. Plus it moves really well and I liked Mayuka's character. When she wasn't being controlled by Yuzuha she was sweet and funny. I wish they'd have brought her back :(
Now, I understand what the writers were doing when they did this movie.
The writers put elements from Tenchi Muyo(Light Hawk sword) into the original story of Tenchi Universe (if anyone noticed that Aekyia said that the her brother had a light tree back on Jurie, meaning that Yoashio is not Aekia's brother.

I don't know, I think I like this Tenchi movie the most. My favorite thing about all the Tenchi shows/movies was all the comedy, like Ryoko and Ayeka ripping each others heads off (so to speak) This one was the most fun. The first was pretty good, and the third, well... "snore"
Oh ya, and another thing, assuming Tenchi movies 1 and 3 are based on Tenchi Universe series, this one can't be. Because the third movie was supposed to be the latest in that time line, and if that's true, then Mayuka would be there. So this is pretty much like Tenchi Muyo with the one exception of Kiyone
tenchi universe wasnt the real tenchi show, and like most anime movies they don't follow the other movies, so this is universe, and definitely not tokyo.
The only thing that is accurate with Tenchi Universe is Kiyone. Tenchi Universe doesn't have that lighthawk sword, Tsunami, or that bathing thing in the sky, all of those are only in Tenchi Muyo! But ur right, there ain't nothing Tokyo in this one. This is pretty much Tenchi Muyo! plus Kiyone. (Whom I wish was in Tenchi Muyo! in the first place)

Seems to be split to me. Most of it seems set in the original OVAs. However Kiyone and the absence of Tsunami (as Sassami) would suggest Universe.

We'll never know exactly where it began or for what reason.
It could've just began..much the same as a thought simply because there was capability for it.

If you add in the fact that she's a multi-dimensional omniscience being [end of the OVA series] (along w/ tsunami and ti-, te-, whoever that other chick is) Washu is pretty much one of the most experienced beings ever in existence.

Oh, I know that. :) I should've been more specific when I made my post. When I first saw that episode, I thought, "she was the last person I expected to take care of a baby"... that is, until she mentioned what she went through towards the end of the episode "Hello, Baby" in the OVA series.

Yuzuha reminds me a little of Washu...even sounds like her. I hope they make more Tenchi Muyo series and movies...I need to buy the DVDs. Tenchi Muyo is the BEST ANIME EVER, hands down.

Hmm well it makes sense that Miyuka was back as a baby. Washu is a genius and basically used the same procidure as The demon of darkness, buuut- The Demon used a time rift to make Miyuka age then gave her false memeories. Like Washu and Tenchi's Grandpa discovered before, "she was from the future".
Plus even Washu teh mad scientist wouldn't deprive sweet Miyuka of having REAL family memories. =)

I love this movie. The animation and the colors, everythings so beautiful to look at it. Plus it moves really well and I liked Mayuka's character. When she wasn't being controlled by Yuzuha she was sweet and funny. I wish they'd have brought her back :(

Now, I understand what the writers were doing when they did this movie.
The writers put elements from Tenchi Muyo(Light Hawk sword) into the original story of Tenchi Universe (if anyone noticed that Aekyia said that the her brother had a light tree back on Jurie, meaning that Yoashio is not Aekia's brother.

I don't know, I think I like this Tenchi movie the most. My favorite thing about all the Tenchi shows/movies was all the comedy, like Ryoko and Ayeka ripping each others heads off (so to speak) This one was the most fun. The first was pretty good, and the third, well... "snore"

Oh ya, and another thing, assuming Tenchi movies 1 and 3 are based on Tenchi Universe series, this one can't be. Because the third movie was supposed to be the latest in that time line, and if that's true, then Mayuka would be there. So this is pretty much like Tenchi Muyo with the one exception of Kiyone

tenchi universe wasnt the real tenchi show, and like most anime movies they don't follow the other movies, so this is universe, and definitely not tokyo.

The only thing that is accurate with Tenchi Universe is Kiyone. Tenchi Universe doesn't have that lighthawk sword, Tsunami, or that bathing thing in the sky, all of those are only in Tenchi Muyo! But ur right, there ain't nothing Tokyo in this one. This is pretty much Tenchi Muyo! plus Kiyone. (Whom I wish was in Tenchi Muyo! in the first place)

This one didn't seem that good, but it was heartwarming at the end for some reason.
