I just went through a refill in 25 days. I'm a physics student at college though, so I gotta take a lot of notes. ;-) Anyway, it's kind of neat when they run out. It writes fine and then suddenly the line starts breaking, then half a sentence later it's completely dead. Not much warning!
@xylenol15 Oh wow....25day?! That's not good :( My thoughts on that episode would be that MAYBE the storage of the refills by the distributor is in harsh conditions and that could influence the short life span.
I agree with your statement of how it warns you (as in does NOT warn you at all....haha.). That happened to me. I wasn't happy.
@CyberCacique1 Oh, 25 days was actually quite reasonable under the circumstances. I filled (very roughly) 300 pages of paper in that time. Anyway, the cartridge is sealed, so high or low temperatures shouldn't really affect the ink volume. I have the stainless and titanium versions and like them a lot; I like the stainless the best, always did like heavy pens. I ordered the Al version too, I have an element collecting streak and enjoy the density differences. Expensive to do though.
@xylenol15 Excellent. I am raising the white flag. A physics student wins 100% against any argument I would ever have about materials, temperatures or misc. variables. ;)
I can imagine how nice the stainless and titanium versions must be. I'm too cheap to buy those. haha.
@bikermonster77 You make great points. As for the screw-on top, I knew about that going into the purchase, but I do agree that it can be extremely annoying at times when you would rather keep it on the pen rather than off to the side on the writing surface or in your pocket or something like that. I have learned to live with it, but I can completely understand that being a major turnoff for some people.
@bikermonster77 Cool. After some time with the product, let us know your impressions. I'm still using mine everyday and it's been a tank! I really like the Space Pen cartridge and how it writes.
Good question. I'd love to see a comparison. Word on the street is that the Benchmade and Surefire pens are pretty expensive. That's not compatible w/my cheapskate DNA. :)
Oh I see, Yea those are expensive. I like the fisher pen but I dont like how the fisher pen is designed. So you get the best of both worlds I see. Fisher reliability and refills with tank like build?
One thing I like about the Surefire pen is it has a glass breaker tailcap.
I hear you. I like the option of a fairly robust refill and yes the build IS very tank-like. :)
The option you speak of on the Surefire is definitely a nice utility to have and of course, Surefire is known of a high level of quality and durability.
Actually, the fisher pen refills were $5 at countycomm. As far as the lifespan though,I'm not so sure on that. I'll post an update vid when it runs out. I have been using it everyday and so far, so good.

How do you like the pen though?

I have used the Embassy pen on and off for the past month and I'd give it a 3 out of 5.
Pros: Solid build and reliable ink cartridge (fairly smooth writing, but noticeable resistance)
Cons: Trying to find a place for the screw-on cap while writing and the mid-piece unscrewing along with the cap when trying to open it.

I wonder how this compares to the Benchmade or the Surefire pen?

I know the fisher pen refills are expensive. Do you know how long these last before you need to refill them?

Nice Pen...I've been waiting for someone to do a review on this pen. CountyComm has some really cool products.

It's definitely decent.....to me, at least. :)
Like I said, I have ZERO history with specialized pens and when you search and see what really good/great pens cost, this does seem like a deal.
The durability and ability to get cheap ($5) cartridge replacements is what kind of sold me on it....and of course, my future as a Space Tourist. LOL!

Nice pen, looks like you got a good deal too

And this is "cheap" for a good quality pen....from what I've read. :)
Think of it as a Pen / Kubaton. LOL! This thing could be deadly for anyone trained in using it tactically.
