  • At the end that was a big gerbil

  • The tan and white one look sick.

  • @boofle122 haha nice!! cutest gerbil i ever saw! <3

  • you guys i have had many gerbils so i know what i am doing they do not have to have sand to bath in they rarley ever use them the tnk is fine fsince they will be sold soon they are not being abused.so back off remember this at a pet store where they are keep there for a few days

  • I have an aquarium filled with peat based soil, with a two storey cage on top

  • Aquariums arn't good, cause they dont get as good ventilation as a cage.

  • I have the same aquarium!

  • the white filthy oilly one needs a dust bath...

  • @DaBoyAlexxx they all 3 needed that

  • what fruits and veggies can we feed it

  • The gerbils look awful. ;( The golden one looks sick.

They need a large bowl of fine sand to take a bath and take care of their coat.

The aquarium is too small for them an the cluster of litter is very small too.

My english is not adequate enough for a correct discussion, but I hope that gerbils-keeper will collect better information about the requirement of their pets BEFORE they buy this wonderful animals.

  • @tanteschwesta

I agree. My three gerbils got very big aquarium. And there is very mutch stuff and there can still put three more gerbils.

  • @tanteschwesta The lady doesn't look much better... she should learn to take care of herself before she gets a pet.

  • When it comes to the water, is it okay to give them very alkaline, metallic water? Because that's what the tap water in my area is like.

  • @NingyoAijin There are several things you could do here. First, try leaving a large glass of water out for 24 hours (uncovered). A lot of stuff evaporates from it during that time, namely chlorine which could be part of the problem. Secondly, gerbils don't drink much; I have 2 and although I change their water at least twice a week, they hardly ever go through any more than half of the small bottle. So you could use bottled water if you want without spending much at all. Good luck.

  • @GerbilDiaries I read somewhere that aspen is bad for them. I do not use pine bedding anymore because I also read that it is bad for them. Sand is alright, but it's very difficult for them to burrow in according to a gerbil site/forum that I read when looking up bedding for my gerbils. So yes I did some research. The cardboard I have that is shredded is very thin strips so they can burrow in it fine. I put in a few inches so there is plenty of burrowing space.

  • Do not use sand. Do not use aspen. The best is shredded cardboard and Carefresh. Pine is okay -- my family used this growing up with our rodents before we knew it was bad. Gerbils are from the desert -- do you find lettuce in the desert?

  • ya why is der fur like that it looks unhealthy

  • USE SANI CHIPS NOT REGULAR WOOD SHAVINGS

  • tiny cage.

  • @CrossoverBeast It's not an appropriate size. He's reffering to what a gerbil really should be in, not to what pet shops provide. Most pet shops never provide the CORRECT sized living enviornments because they all want to be money grubbing corporations. So, technically for the "pet shop guidelines" it's the exact size cage, but for gerbil owners and anyone else who actually cares about them it is to small, because infact it's not big enough to hold those gerbils, so all of you stop your whining.

  • Is gerbil poop dry like guinea pig poop? Or is it wet? Please help!

  • @hedsh0t117 Dry.

  • @hedsh0t117 dry like guinea poop xD

  • @CrossoverBeast

honey we will never agree on your opinions ^^

good life and best wishes to the outback :) ♥

  • @CrossoverBeast

i really don´t know were your from but the cage is toooooo smaaall my darling water and food goes without saying in a pet shop do you live in the outback? :D

that mice look sick and it is animal abuse if you would have a little bit of intelligence and intellect you would know i´m right .. villigeboy :P

  • That aquarium is too small for 3 gerbils! I have 4 gerbils, 2 in a 20 gallon aquarium, and 2 in a WARE Chewproof Cage. Those are roomy, and great for gerbils

  • @BalletBecca they're just babies atm. They're only small. Hopefully they'll move them into a larger tank by the time they grow older, but for now they'll do fine there.

  • @CrossoverBeast

get a brain sweetheart you know i´m right :P

  • the fur of the gerbils looks not very healthy, they need a sand bath to keep their fur healthy and beautiful :)

  • She forgot to tell us that the best gerbil toy is a carboard tube from toilet paper rolls.

  • Babies XD

  • i think i might get a gerbil soon once our lame newts are gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i currently have a hamster he is the sweetest!

  • @rodentlover2000 gerbils are sociable animals. When buying a gerbil, make sure to buy a same sex friend for him/her, otherwise you'll be swarmed with babies. Hamsters are solitary, but gerbils need a lot of attention. When on their own they get miserable. As with buying any animal, please read up on the breed. If you have any questions i'd be happy to answer. I've currently got 6 gerbils. If you don't have time for more than on please consider another species, thanks [:

  • her teeth look likes a hampster...lol!

  • Gerbils can not be kept in metal cages, always use a gerbilarium or an aquarium with a well-ventilated hood

  • I do not understand why you give such tips!?

bevor giving tips you should care for your own animals!

gerbils do need much more place to run !!

And do you even think your gerbils are healthy?

certainly NOT!! their fur is really scrubby and quite grubby !!

    It's terrible!

  • i put my hand in my gerbils cage but when i comes near my hand im afraid ill bite me but i wanna hold it

  • @thehamsterlove1

you should still keep your hand there because they might just want to sniff you. I had gerbils and when

i first got them they looked like they were going to bite me but then I kept my hand there and they just sniffed me. If you keep your hand there and they still bit you, then you should wash your hands because they might think that you smell like food. Good Luck!!!!

  • cruelty to animals!!!!!

pooor gerbils :( my heart is bleeding :(

you must not! give tips like that!!!! look at the fure they look sick!! what are you doing with these little animals ?!?!

    should be forbidden >:(

  • The cage is WAY too small! They have nowhere to hide or sleep!

  • hey there,

the cage is REALLY too small!! i know you're a pet shop but even the gerbils in our german petshops have more place. and it's quite important to say: your gerbils don't look healthy!! the fur is scrubby. why isn't there any place to hide?

  • cutie gerbils cage to small like happyhoneymaus said

  • mine chewed the slide in the Critter Trail cage until it was nothing but small bits. we give her plastic cups & little bowls to chew on.

  • i love gerbils

  • aww they look sick, they wipe their nose a lot and their fur is not well groomed :(

  • @MrGerbilBrain but they look like babys and baby gerbils fur is a little messier

  • OMG!! Give them sand its really good for their hair !!

  • Please tell me they don't POOP as much as GUINEA PIGS!!!!???

  • @SincereTheLady no not at all lol there very very small

  • @preciousluzsmusic Thank goodness lol I miss my guinea pig Minus the poop...

  • i agree totally with u reviewcam i've got a a pair of gerbils and they're tank is 2 feet long and a 1 foot deep and 1 foot high so loads of space for them to do what they want

  • :( The past few weeks I've watched many small pet videos (rat, mice, guinea pig, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits) and with few exceptions the cages are all really tiny.

I think I want a pet that I don't have to keep in a cage. Another cat.

  • i have a wire cage from critter tail, i know its not that good of a place to run but they have alot of tubes to go in, but we dont put so much bedding in since it will spill out if we put too much.

  • some of my gerbils tail rip off is it good will it grow back

  • @horsegirl1232565 What does the tail look like? if you were putting pressure on the tail then it may have degloved - gerbils do this as a defense mechanism which is why you should never hold or put pressure on their tail. Degloving describes an injury in which the fur, skin, and muscle are torn off a gerbil's tail - leaving muscle and bone exposed. It can be VERY painful for the gerbil and the missing part will not grow back. you should take the gerbil to the vet! im sry dude!

  • @spikesan2211 my gerbil is black and its whole tail fur is ripped off and it grew back but not the tip is it good and i did not handle it by its tail i handle like u should

  • @spikesan2211 and im not a dude im a girl just saying k

  • Aww, there so sweet XD

  • they look unhealthy, do they have a dust bath?

  • we have a tank but one of my gerbils keep getting out! we have a screen in place over it which is for the cage, size wize and sich. and there is no levels high enough for her to stand on to push it up.

how do i stop her gettin out?

  • happyhoneymaus its probely just a cage for videos

  • is a 10gallon tank heavy?if yes i might wan to use a plastic bin

  • the gerbils look realy sick !i have gerbils and they have more space to run around these dont :(

  • im gettin gerbils soon!! cant wait :D

  • idk what u guys r talking about cuz she SED aspen was one of the best

  • would the gerbils scratch the aquaium

  • NEVER USE ASPIN

  • @DABIGGERBIL TF?? Um ASPEN, is one of the best as izzyrocks12 said. Idk what your saying. I use aspen for my Gerbils and there doing great, What not to use is pine and cedar! Never use that for hamsters or gerbils, Only other animals that it is safe for, sOOO Ohhhh

  • I love GERBILS but one question..... What can they hid in other than plastic cuz mine eats plastic!! SAD!!!

  • my friends have 3

  • can we use saw dust for bedding?

  • She's like "You can feed them certain fruits but we're not going to tell you which....look it up on the Internet!" Yeah thanks, this vid is crap.

  • They're so cute! Nice video added it to my lens squidoo.com/gerbils-how-to-tame-and-look-after-your-gerbil

  • Those gerbils don't look very happy. The general rule is 1 gerbil per five gallons....unless you get an attached top that has different levels...

  • @StudioVibe Incase you didn't notice, that tank looks to be about a 20 G. :l

  • @KickAssLyrics Its not a 20 gallon. I have the same size cage and its a 10 gallon. :/

  • @StudioVibe It can't be the exact same size cage, since all tanks look generally the same. :P

  • @StudioVibe Nooooot really. You can usually tell the difference when you have seen enough of them. Ive seen and owned enough to be able to tell that is definitely a ten gallon.

  • @mileybo1 calm down, the gerbils look fine and im sure most of them will be bought soon. and its *not* her fault about the acne, so give her a break

  • gerbils are awesome i have 2

  • guys check out my first vid. i just uploaded it.

  • hamsters and gerbils are no different except gerbils have tails so either - guinea pigs are harder to look after and are also a lot bigger

  • hamster gerbil or guenia pig which one is better pm me and ill leave a comment here saying which one has more votes please vote lets see which one is better pm me

  • @DAVO4210

    i like guenia pigs more...

    there just better..:P

  • Pine is not okay bedding to use- it causes liver and respiratory issues. Those tanks are too small for multiple gerbils. A 20 gallon long tank is the bare minimum or purchase a tank topper for the smaller tanks (a cage that fits on top of the tank). Tanks provide little to no ventilation so make sure to clean them often! Tanks are not okay for most small animals but as gerbils do like to dig and burrow, the tank tends to be the best option for this.

  • can u use a HUGE 10-70 gallon clothing storring container?

  • Can you use it? Yes. But not for long if it's plastic. Gerbils can and will chew through anything plastic even if it seems impossible at first. You would be extremely surprised with what they can tear through.

  • oh hell yeah ive seen it myself lol

  • oh hell yeah ive seen it myself the have got great teeth lol

  • To small cage, sorry, but where can they run there? It´s TOO SMALL :(

  • @happyhoneymaus not really.

  • @happyhoneymaus you can get special wheel for gerbils

  • i love the blak and white one!!

  • So cute I love Gerbils
