  • Wow looks great

  • i love your work!!

but i do have a question, when you use the mineral spirits, does it only work on stamped images, or can you draw your own image, outline it, color it, and then use the mineral spirits?

    thank you

  • @animefreak7918 Thank you so much! This technique could be using on drawn images too, as long as you are using an ink won't smear with the use of the mineral spirits. Good luck!

  • @heroarts do you have any recommended ink??? i was planning on using copic multiliner, it says it's waterproof but im not sure if it will smear

  • @animefreak7918 A Copic multiliner should work great!

  • Coooool.

  • I enjoyed watching this video. It looks like a fun thing to do! I am just wondering what kind of stamp pad you used. Did it have to be heat-embossed to prevent it running?

Also, I have some Bob Ross odourless paint thinner, & was wondering if that would do the same thing as Gamsol?

  • can blending stumps also be used on art that ur sketch and draw urself on a peice of paper

  • What paper did you use?

  • Where do I get the mineral spirits and the rolled paper from?

  • hi thank you for showing me.how to do this because forgot how to do it.so thank.god bless

  • Interesting...so that's how they do it!

  • A very interesting technique! I've tried something similar with alcohol & cotton swabs, and it didn't work.

Prismacolors drive me nuts, because no matter how much blending I do with the colorless pencil, I can STILL see the white specks of paper beneath. Will this Gamsol technique totally cover that paper?

Oh, by the way: what a sweet, gentle voice you have.....;o)

  • I love this video so informative where can I buy the stumps from?

    Thank you so much

  • Were is the bird stamp from? Or were can I find it? Its so pretty! I can picture it as an alternitive easter card!

  • @AnniSweden The bird is from the Hero Arts CL231 Happy Hello clear set.

  • have you noticed a differnce in your art when you use gamsol v.s. using a colorless blending pencil? i just recently got into using pecil as a medium. so i am just learning about blending in general..i been using a colorless blender..i'd like my work to look more like i painted it..do you think i should switch to using gamsol?

  • Stunning!

  • This is one of my favorite videos. I love this bird stamp and as soon as I saw it on the video I added it to my collection.

  • Hi, how do you keep the stump clean so you can reuse it? or do you have different ones for different color? Thanks

  • When you want to change colors you can use an emery board or sanding pad to sand off the old color.

  • This is so cool ! I can't wait to try this. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.I just discovered your videos today!

  • For me, Gamsol makes my paper somewhat translucent. Do you have any problems with this?

  • Water will not have any effect on this type of pencil. To blend with water, you will need to color with watercolor pencils.

  • What is a 'stomp'? Also can you use any coloured pencils or do they have to be special?

I loved the bird, really pretty and vibrant :D

  • A stump is a pointed blending tool made of compressed paper. Stumps can be found at art supply stores and craft stores. For this technique, regular pigment pencils are used (not watercolor pencils.)

  • Ah, I see! Thanks ;D

  • i was wondering can you use this technique with doing color pencil paintings ie portraits, and when you want to layer colors?

  • how much is the mineral spirits?

  • $3-$6 per quart typically. Walmart usually has it cheap... or just hit Home Depot or Lowes...

  • I love your videos!!!!!! Please make more and more and more. LOL. Thank you for sharing!!!!

  • thats beautiful!

  • Hi There,

Was wondering,do you need to use watercolor paper and can you use any kind of ink or does it need to be Staz On ink with this technique?

    Thanks Denise

  • Hi Denise! Watercolor paper is not a necessity with this technique. A good quality smooth cardstock will work great. As far as ink, I've had good luck with other permanent black inks. Memories Black Dye Ink is a favorite. Hope that helps! :) Tami

  • Thanks Tami,Yes this does help.

    Thank you again Denise

  • Is it flammable? Can I have it mailed? What pencils do you use?

  • Yes, Gamsol is flammable and it can be shipped via ground mail only. Prismacolor pencils work great for this technique.

  • thanks Tami, i'll look into it. Cheers!

  • beautiful technique! Do you know of a similiar product that can be bought in Australia? I've never heard of Gamsol. Is it like 'white spirit'?

  • Hi missdoobs! I'm not familiar with "white spirit" but Gamsol is 100% pure odorless mineral spirits. So if you can find another brand of OMS that will work too. :) Tami

  • Thanks so much for the quick tutorial on the Gamsol and colored pencils... YIKES more money to spend on things!

  • Thanks for this video, this is such a HOT technique and I wondered how to do it.

  • What stamp are you using? I would love to use it, but I can't seem to find it.

  • Not sure if you're still looking, but the stamp is from Hero Arts' Clear Design Happy Hello set (CL231).

  • Wow! I have to go and get some Gamsol! This is such a great technique-the colors are so vibrant. Your cards are stunning. TFS!

  • gamsol makes my head hurt after 5 minutes of using it, im now using goo gone and loving it. so if youre sensitive to odors, try out the goo gone. it smells pretty lol.

  • Thank you very much for your wonderful tutorial! I love your cards! Your cards are very inspirational! My 8 year old son likes to watch your tutorials and he said that you are awesome!
