@rj28sc Same I remember buying the dial up adapter for my DC just to play PSO V1 and V2, then I was big on blue burst and Ep 1&2 as well, and even was in Universe.
Something PSO does differently and better than other MMO make it really appealing.
@ViciousXUSMC Aye i've never really figured out just what made me really love PSO as much as I did. The weapons were great, the mags were brilliant and the quests were so fun and different from all the other MMO's out there.
I never played the original (Downloading Blue Burst ATM to try out a private server out of curiousity), but HOLEEEY SHIT, this game looks fucking fantastic. I saw that 4 minute gameplay trailer....it looks like it has everything I could ever ask for in an RPG.
Be nice if it had VMU load for thoughs of us that still have there PSO DC data lol. But seriously... Nerdgasam warning... but hell bring one out for us Console players... hell even a revamped PSOep1-2 for the PSP or each consoles Network/live/ware you teased us with it on PSP2... and nostalger flowed over us PSO fans. You get this and Sonic Grenerations and you may usher in a new era for Sonic Team and SEGA once more.

@SilverbladeVI Thats easy... just put a lot a rare weapons in the game, the red Box with "SPECIAL WEAPON" marked on it was probably the only thing that kept me playing the game.. rare item hunting was the best XD.

@KylBlz Sega never updated BB much as Japan. The American servers were lacking content and lots of it. BB Japan was getting a fuckton of content, weapons and events. As for America. We didn't really get much and a lot of people were mad about it. In PSO 2 I hope they update Japanese/America servers at the same time so most will be pleased with the service. That was the only thing wrong with BB when Sega was running it.
I got goosebumps all over when i heard this music. I put over 6,000 hours into PSO for gamecube. I still go back and play sometimes, i've never had a pc for gaming but im building a gaming computer now just to play this game.

Holy shit, PSO2! I'm kind of surprised, as all of the Phantasy Star communities seem to be dying now (I've only been able to get one online game of PSP2 going). Has it really been that long? I remember buying a brand new copy of episode 3, back when it had only been out for a few months. After that, I realized that I NEEDED to find out more. I went to my local game store, and found a used copy of Episodes 1 and 2. I bought it on the spot.
Since then I've been playing on and off, saddened that I never got to try it out online. As such, my drive to play hasn't been that high, but I still am trying to beat ultimate with my main. Lv 81 hunter atm.

@hatebush1234 lol, I remember the days all to well. I played PSO on the Xbox when I was about 13-16, (can't remember exact age). But I would come home from school, turn on some Samurai Champloo music and play that game for hours online. I'm 21 now and would love to re experience the times again.

Yes! This is very good news. I tried PSU and it failed me. PS0 wasn't too bad and was slightly better than PSp. Overall the best version I think is PSp2 which took the best of PSO and combined it with some of the acceptable features of PSU style games.
But PSO2 sounds awesome!
PSU was not PC exclusive, and did poorly on all platforms. This is no reason to not have it on PC. PC would be better that the others I would think especially after having played PSO:BB.
Nice, this may be a great start for Sega making PC games. If this isn't an MMORPG, the next one might be, I think. They could even make their own FPS and RTS franchises :P
@beefcow2009 Probably be a Japan only release, then (maybe) to NA/EU parts. But not sure, since I think PSU overally didn't really sell that well, but we'll see. As for platforms, it would make no sense for them not to put it on PS3, at least in Japan where I'm sure a big % of the gamers there have PS3s, not to mention PSU was a PC/PS2 release in Japan, so I wouldn't see why it would stay PC only.
Either way, I'm beyond happy about this, can't wait!.
I played PSO on gamecube, and let me just say, that it still to this day trumps so many other games in my library. And I have played ALOT of games lol.

@ChannelTheBadass According to some people they think the reason the DC Failed was because of how easy it was to play pirated games on it becuase you didnt need to chip it due to it having a diferenc disk format then other consoles which they thought was "Unhackable", which is a shame because it was one of the best consoles I have ever had the joy of owning...
Phantasy Star Online....so many memories of my younger years... I loved it, had the Dreamcast version, and then bought the Gamecube 1&2 version...was a truly great game.
@Aukodoll after ten years of wishful thinking, and pennies thrown into fountains Sega finally makes our hearts beat again! This is the second game to ever be announced besides Street Fighter 4 that literally dropped my jaw. Now let's hope the subscription fee doesn't drop my jaw as well.
I hope I can remake my original heroes from PSO - like the racast and Hunewearl. Just the way they were in PSO, except with better graphics and gameplay.
How it all began, how it all begins again. It was simply, a work of art. Created by masters a long time ago, about a time and a world yet to come. This was the first Game I ever bought, and I spent months debating and tracking it down, a sort time after the servers closed. There are other legendary games, epic, glorious games, and this one exist among them. Not everyone can play on the PC, so I hope they make it available on the console, even if they have to weaken it for the wii.

Has it really been that long? I remember buying a brand new copy of episode 3, back when it had only been out for a few months. After that, I realized that I NEEDED to find out more. I went to my local game store, and found a used copy of Episodes 1 and 2. I bought it on the spot.
Since then I've been playing on and off, saddened that I never got to try it out online. As such, my drive to play hasn't been that high, but I still am trying to beat ultimate with my main. Lv 81 hunter atm.

Yeah. I don 't know what it was about PSO but me and my cousins would play them over and over and over and over. We put so many hours into that game it's not even funny. It was just a winning formula, that resulted in pure addiction. No game has managed to captivate me like that game did. I loved it!!!! Coolness :D

@hatebush1234 lol, I remember the days all to well. I played PSO on the Xbox when I was about 13-16, (can't remember exact age). But I would come home from school, turn on some Samurai Champloo music and play that game for hours online. I'm 21 now and would love to re experience the times again.

@JAMurida1 i remember playing PSO when i was 8 with the 4 of my friends, we would just go through all maps from normal to ultimate(ALL DAY) and after we would go to the store,have a sleepover and do it again with different characters. im 18 now and dont regret a BIT of it...geez when parents say enjoy life when its young,they meant it xD

Yes! This is very good news. I tried PSU and it failed me. PS0 wasn't too bad and was slightly better than PSp. Overall the best version I think is PSp2 which took the best of PSO and combined it with some of the acceptable features of PSU style games.
But PSO2 sounds awesome!
PSU was not PC exclusive, and did poorly on all platforms. This is no reason to not have it on PC. PC would be better that the others I would think especially after having played PSO:BB.

Nice, this may be a great start for Sega making PC games. If this isn't an MMORPG, the next one might be, I think. They could even make their own FPS and RTS franchises :P

@beefcow2009 Probably be a Japan only release, then (maybe) to NA/EU parts. But not sure, since I think PSU overally didn't really sell that well, but we'll see. As for platforms, it would make no sense for them not to put it on PS3, at least in Japan where I'm sure a big % of the gamers there have PS3s, not to mention PSU was a PC/PS2 release in Japan, so I wouldn't see why it would stay PC only.
Either way, I'm beyond happy about this, can't wait!.

@ChannelTheBadass According to some people they think the reason the DC Failed was because of how easy it was to play pirated games on it becuase you didnt need to chip it due to it having a diferenc disk format then other consoles which they thought was "Unhackable", which is a shame because it was one of the best consoles I have ever had the joy of owning...

Phantasy Star Online....so many memories of my younger years... I loved it, had the Dreamcast version, and then bought the Gamecube 1&2 version...was a truly great game.

How it all began, how it all begins again. It was simply, a work of art. Created by masters a long time ago, about a time and a world yet to come. This was the first Game I ever bought, and I spent months debating and tracking it down, a sort time after the servers closed. There are other legendary games, epic, glorious games, and this one exist among them. Not everyone can play on the PC, so I hope they make it available on the console, even if they have to weaken it for the wii.
