  • Paths corporation is designed for Katrina residents, but the politicians and main stream media don't want to talk about our corporations plans.

    What path are you on?

  • This is not a civil rights issue its PUBLIC HOUSING if they owned there own property they could coem back but the city can do whatever they want to do to there own municipal property. Most of there peopel lived there for years so they do not understnad the word temporary.

  • Mmmm, sounds like they got rid of all of the fucking bad jiggaboos..and that's a bad thing? Well Sparky, before the black people got flushed out of the ghetto's like roaches during Katrina..how do you think WHITE PEOPLE felt about living there? I mean you had to be completely fucking retarded to want to risk living in the city amongst all of the godamn savages and criminals in the projects..What about THAT? Just because it was 90% black BEFORE the storm, does it mean it should still be black now

  • And most of the poor were the fucking laziest human beings on the godamn planet. I felt terrible for the disabled and the elderly..but the lazy Niggers that fucking looted, fired guns, raped women and beat up people after the storm..you won't hear anyone talking about that shit..I feel sorry for the people that made that City great..not the godamn porch monkeys that sleep until noon, go buy groceries with their foodstamps and criticize the Gubment" all day Oh, and fuck and make babies fuck them

  • @ttiger5050 My people (african americans) worked for free for over 500 years while the lazy white mutha fuckas did nothing but rape, kill and commit most of the crimes, so if we dont want to work so be it, we deserve to sit on our asses, do nothing and get a check. After were paid back for 500 years of slavery then we will worry about getting a job. To my sistas and brothas "USE THE GOVERNMENT FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU CAN"

  • @jerdon43

HERE'S THE RESPONSE FROM A TYPICAL NIGGER THAT HAS A SENSE OF "ENTITLEMENT" BECAUSE HE SAYS THAT HIS ANCESTORS WORKED UNDER THE WHITE MAN AS SLAVES FOR OVER 500 YEARS. This is exactly why we should tell the fucking lazy ass Jiggaboo Porch Monkeys to start packing their bags and send them back to the filthiest continent of the planet,,AFRICA. They can join their Jiggaboo brothers that work like slaves for other Niggers because they don't have white people to create law and order.

  • that women is fucking right !

im from born in public housing in holland but there is't it so bad as there !

  • Mr Quigley is a highly respected human rights activist lawyer. I don't understand the negative comments towards him. He volunteers and flies around the world helping oppressed people. What are you doing to help the world?

  • What a crock. I live here and I know better. If you are responsible and law abiding, you got nothing. If you don't work you can get all the free stuff you want.

Quigley is a quack. Get a job and take of your self and your family.

It's called Personal Responsibility. Try it sometime.

  • Amnesty international confrence on Sat oct 25 @ G.C.U AZ. One topic is housing problms in New Orleans.

  • that seems very sad to me because my cousin did in that hurrican

  • u mean died i guess ?

  • People are still getting free housing and vouchers, so this is alll bullshit. Working people like myself who own their own property and flooded got turned down for assistance of any kind to rebuild. Louisiana is the worst state to live in if you're a taxpayer, and I'll be leaving.

  • Bottom line, as in ALL cities in AMERICA:

Whites do not want us around, they want us to just die and totally disappear.

A real honest cracker will say that to you ...right to your face!

    Who're YOU kidding!?

  • @Robin622

No, we are just sick and tired of the majority of black people in America still feeling that they have a sense of entitlement because of some shit that ended half a fucking century ago. Sick of blacks committing most of the violent crime, sick of blacks making babies that they don't support (so we have to), sick of blacks promoting gangster-ism and a glorifying violence and the thug culture. How can your people not understand that that behavior is fucking unacceptable and dangerous?

  • This is some bullshit!! Let me get this straight the let the people go back to work at GroundZero in NewYork after 911 when the air so toxic and unsafe to breath but these people can't go back to their homes. Not to mention the government is at fault for the breaking of the leaves which caused the flooding in the first placed. The government is responsible but they would rather rebuild IRAQ!

  • This is America, land of the free, and we have free choice. I am a single mom with 1 child, by choice, and I work 2 jobs, by choice, because I want my child and I to have a descent life with the things we need and also, thinks we want.I can do it, so can anyone else. You have to want better & go get it. You mustn't depend on anyone else, except youself & God.

  • good for you!you think the people in these houses made a "choice" to be locked out of their own homes? whether they rent or own the house, life happens to people, even if you make the choice to live the "american dream" ,there's always a nightmare to wake up to if you live in the real world, even if you personally make strides to rise above it,there is always some faction or machine to brake through, soo dear don't dismiss these people like their loving this life style.

  • The real problem here is, they are weren't living the "American Dream". The american dream is to go school, go to work, buy a home, raise a family, and be a good god-fearing ,hard working person. This wasn't their home, it belongs to all of us tax-paying people. It's a short term helping hand.

  • are you stuck on delusional? i'm a college student, yes an i have made that great choice to continue my education.but that choice doesn't stop life from happening.you think those kids who went to VTECH made a bad choice to go to school that day? it wasn't their fault some crazed man came into those classes an shot 32 of them dead.but hay! they were at school right? making great choices.but nooo it seems that the choices of others affect us to somehow go,figure...

  • there is no such thing as the "real" american dream, who gave you the keys to that door honey?! you don't issue the dreams that people have within' their souls, and minds, yeah okay! you work on 2 jobs,by choice.but whose to say your job won't burn down someday, and the other one might lay you off the next, get my drift?! you can make all the beautiful choices you want.but when LIFE put it's foot in those choices,it's up to you how you rise from those ashes and fight back.

  • it's soo easy to dismiss these people with no regard when you feel everything is flowing smooth in your life,no matter how many choices one can make, does not grant them intangibility from what pains others, you think these folk choose to live with people like you telling them somehow you're better because you made all the "perfect" choices in life?don't leave shoddy comments,as if you're making an impact here, congrats' that you live such the life "free" life...

  • I have never said things are easy, I bust my ass everyday, because I want to live a decent life, and so can anyone else. I'm tired all the time, but I do not choose to live off everyone else in cheap or free houses where I have to put my child to bed in a bathtub everynight to protect her from stray bullets. I would do whatever it took not to subject my baby to that kind of living.

  • good for you!who said these people are living off of the governments back, don't think because it says "project" that means low life,i live in new orleans, and before hurricane katrina, many of these people were hard working taxs payers like you.but when they returned home, they were kick out of these apts/houses,not because they lack education,or motivation, but because they didn't have a choice in this matter, they are fighting for principles to be respected, not for cheap living...

  • your are shallow, and lack farsight in any manner life can place it.you could live in a gated community in vermont somewhere, and some crazed buffoon can still kick your door in an kill you and your entire family, most petty crimes happen in the inner cities "granted".but your child is more safe at a racely mix public school, than a mostly white private school in seattle wa,to say most of the school shootings happen at mostly white schools, not my opinion.but fact based on study...

  • so before you announce anymore of the grand choices you've made that somehow obscured your perspective away from issues that predate your narrow life, talk to some of the real people behind this 8:12 youtube video to bring you into a world that exists beyond just a choice to get by,i know we have to make choices that ultimately moves us higher in life.but you can't ignore the matters that most have to fight through for their choices to be recognize,so don't relegate them to nothingness.

  • Well, hopefully the new style homes can be built soon that will offer public housing a better, safer way to live. Hopefully, these people that must live in these short-term, helping hand homes will find a way to farther their education or do what it takes to rebuild their lives. God says, ask and you shall receive. Faith, Hope, God & hard work is the answer to everything...

  • you take GOD with you no matter where you are in life, soo don't sit behind your computer screen quotin' bible scriptures like you are sayin' something deep, the bible speaks of people like this, hard working god fearing people who fight to be seen and respected beyond what people think they lack, whether that be education, money, or GREAT choices, the bottom line is they have rights, that they know are being oppose, you think these folk wanna live like you mock them to be?! open your eyes...

  • Quigley is an ANIMAL. He wants poor black people to move back into asbestos, lead based paint, rat & roach infested apartments. These projects were havens for pimps, murderers, and drug dealers. I wouldn't let a stray dog move into these places much less a poor child. I know because I patched up the shooting & stabbing victims in the projects as a 1st responder.

  • the house doesn't define the person, the person defines themself, whether it's the projects or a suburb, those projects have been closed for over two years now,so why has the crime gone up?before they closed them, the crime was down,we do not live in a utopia here on planet earth,so pushin' out the poor only makes things worse,if the balance of justice provides the government to keep a strangle hold on their everymove, give these people back their homes,so they can have a house to pay rent in...

  • i can understand the part about the lead, and asbestos.but trust me when i tell you,i live in new orleans, and most of the housing is jacked up,because we have a horrible slum lord machine here in the N.O,before katrina, and now,soo it's not just the projects that need an overhaul, the entire system of housing needs to be checked, look at the cost of living now, most can't afford the rent.but before katrina they did,soo now all of a sudden all the housin' has asbestos in them?!

  • The roofs that's on these old building are full of asbesto's. They were sealed before, but now that they have been damaged it has blown all over. There are thousand's of law-suits that have been going on for years from the lead-paint poisoning, and still going on. The asbesto's and lead poison is even in the ground now and have even washed under the structures.

  • the city must do something about it then!not just kick 20,000 people onto the street, all of a sudden,i lived in the projects for sometime in my past in new orleans, and trust me when i tell you those buildings are some of the most strong buildings in the N.O bettet than most of the houses lost in the storm, those projects were not damage in H.katrina like the media make them out ot be,the city found a scapegoat to force the black and poor out the city limits to usher in bigger buisness

  • everyone seems to want to ride the surface of this tyde.but here in new orleans those who are protesting for their homes, represent the poor throughout the country,we live in the deep of this bullshit, soo we know what we are fightinfg for,so for people to come on here with the weak ad hominem attacks, please choke on those someday words,to say that these people only want"welfare" is ignorant, they are fighting for justice,it's more than just a "project" it's about security.

  • First of all. If you listen to the video, many of the people who haven't returned were renters. Not people who rely on public housing...people who just can't afford to own a house. That doesn't mean they aren't educated or are on welfare. They just rent. Know lots of white people who do!

  • This guy is full of shit.

They have now opened a small percent of a couple projects and already in the Iberville projects there has been 2 murders this month. This style of project is now needed. Can you image your child out playing in this kind of home? The new Fisher projects is what the right kind help the poor need. And there should be education given to the people who live there, then after a year or so, they need to move on.

  • white people make me so mad i wanna screw a white girl real hard

  • ahahaha, good ot have fantasies

  • This is insane. The less to depend on or have to deal with the government, the happier and more prosperous you will be. The people who lived in those projects need to (A) Get a job (B) Pay their own damn rent and quit relying on taxpayers and (C) Stop having kids out of wedlock and teach their kids not to, tell them to get an eductiaon, and stop blaming whitey for all their problems.

  • This is horrible!! "America the beautiful" my ass!

  • People who want the projects reopened in New Orleans should be ashamed to put those people back in that situation. It's hopeless. Everyone wants to come in from out of town and put them back in the projects then leave us to deal with the consequences. It doesn't make sense to put back the poor in the same situation that they've existed in for generations.

  • Most of the public housing were in such poor conditions to begin with, something needs to be done for people. The outside looks o.k., but what you don't how horrible most are inside . Also, public housing was not built to be long term for people, it was to help people get on there feet. There should be a time limit, except for the old & elderly and disabled. Also, they are full of lead paint.

  • Yeah, great idea and all, but then there should be a time limit on poverty as well. Talk to the economy about that one.

  • Very moving video - most people forget that there is still so much to be done...
