Shango gotta remember the same team who bought out an undrafted free agent named Tony Romo to revive Superbowl hopes is the same team that took J.RAT in the 7th round, plus many others.
Miles always had talent but remember he was breakin out last TC and pre season but suffer a high ankle sprain.
Not my point...undrafted QB's have ripped through the league before in the past...there are several in all positions except WR...there have been 0 undrafted WR to have the success that Miles is having after spending 4years on the bench. It have never happened before.
Chrebet and Rod Smith are your best bets but they ripped it in their rookie year.
I know about all those other picks and TC...I was there everyday to see every player develop.
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Shango! It's been an awesome weekend for sports so I'm pulling for the Skins to pull a miracle out of their butt and beat the Eagles. lol We need all the help we can get!
So happy to see Romo not throwing as many INT's (although he almost had a few in that last game). I also loved seeing Felix get that nice TD run...that was beautiful and you know he was wanting one so bad. He is getting back into the groove and if he stays healthy, he and Choice will be our answer to Adrian Peterson when we play the Vikings. Next season I want to see Roy Williams replaced by someone who catches more passes than he drops. Just some random thoughts. ;-)
Our O line is getting too old all of them are over 30 years old and we barly have any depth in that position so im hoping we can get some O line guys from the draft next year and mabe pick up some guys from free agency becuz are o line is really slow and thse fast past rusher are giving our o line nightmares
i guess your right cj spiller would be a great weapon for the cowboys but im just worried about our future our o line isnt gonna last much longer and we barly have enough guys to back up our o line positions and without a o line romo is gonna have alot of trouble getting passes off
man im so glad someone mentioned this. MB3 has been my favorite player on that team for a while, but omg he is exhaustingly slow..imagine if we could get a beast like that running wit felix speed...ouch. (well ig uess thats basically adrian peterson, huh).
MB3 is not that slow, they are using him wrong. He is a closer period!!! when J jones was starting and MB3 was closing he was great! he's not the tipe of back to start the game. he should be coming in on goal line and third down runs, and in the fourth quarter to wear out the defenses and close out games. You will see a defference if they do that.
A lot of people are saying Romo but it's a little different with QB's. Kurt Warner was bagging groceries...Jake Delhomme, Jeff Garcia...etc All of which sputtered...then grew to have huge success in the NFL. A ton of RB's LB's DL's too...everything but WR. Miles is the first to literally come from nowhere to potentially have huge success.
mybad.nfc east....i should've been more specific. but also right now..not overall but right now i think jackson.smith and austin and rice are the top recievers..but just my opinion.
I agree with you 100 percent about Miles, there are a few things you will notice now and then that you want to question but then he goes out there and shows he can do that too. Well we just have to hope he keeps putting up those big numbers and Tony keeps making good passes and little to no mistakes. We have talent to beat any team in the league it's just that we need to show up big on game day and have the right state of mind to win those games. Lets get it done, this is a BIG December!!!
A couple of things I'm looking for is better blocking for Romo and fewer dropped passes...we are seeing too many dropped (catchable) passes. Romo seems like he needs to scramble all the time and lucky for us that is his style and he is good at it. But imagine how deadly that guy would be with lots of time to throw the ball. All of the talk about all of our weapons...well you would see those weapons cashing in bigtime if he got better blocking.
Way too many dropped balls by everyone...(except Crayton :) )
It's kind of a catch22...Romo just isn't that good in the pocket. He's had fairly good blocking (GB was high b/c number of pass attempts)...but his best plays have been when he gets some heat on him and gets moving...
That "in the pocket" crap didn't even work for Bledsoe. DL's are too strong for you to rely on it in the NFL anymore. It's not consistent unless you are Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. Look at the average QB's that work very well out of the pocket....Eli, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco...they've been having it tough this year.
the falcons are slightly overrated just slightly in my opinion... but he did do good against them but i mean c'mon everyone is saying hes "one of the best" until he does this every game we shouldnt be calling him that though hes showed alot of promise and some proof he can be "one of the best" he just needs to work on his catching a little more.
eagles 45 yards and 1 touchdown..that was good but not quite the best but yeah...
the only teams i would expect them to lose are the chargers, saints and maybe eagles. the cowboys should slip past the giants. but that game will be close
Before we go into the long stretch, i just wanted to say that Romo has played pretty good this year and he's taken care of the ball. He interception havent been that stupid like they have been in the past. ex : ball bouncing of witten foot or miles austin running wrong route against denver.
Im saying this because i know ifromo throws a pic or two and cowboys lose; the whole media is going to come down on him and start that december BS. Just hoping everyone supports Romo throughouttherestofthese
Surprise! The broncos handed the giants a beatdown. And no matter what Tony does, the one good thing you can always say about him, that boy is a frikkin houdini in the pocket. Looks like a sack is coming and he disappears, incomplete pass or not, I love the way he extends broken plays like that.
as a cowboys fan, i'm still weary of the upcoming games. we've been through this so many times but the cowboys MUST defeat the giants first. make a statement, please. i'm still not 100% sold on romo, gets me nervous. i wish roy williams would step it up. if he does, the cowboys will be deadly.
the Giants loss was very big. Now we are nearly in control of the division. We got to go to NY and beat them next week. Im mostly looking at N.O. and Minny cause they the ones we have to beat if we will go to the Super Bowl.
hahaha cowboys are sooo funny. They get all hype about wining a game against a winless team and get super exited. I don't blame them a win is a win, but we all know what december and the playoffs bring to them. Win a playoff game and everyone around the league will finally give you guys the respect you want. Lose, and you guys get to shut up for one more year. Wining the regular season ain't everything if you cant win in the playoffs.
?? im not super excited... a win over the raiders is nothing...austin is only have great games agianst bad teams.. romo is average..d is great...folk is sucking.. no one is exactly hyped...
hahaha maybe not you, and thats probably good. Like I said a win, is a win, and you take it. so congrats. But there is hype. When your 8-3 towards the end of the season and the playoff picture not to far away. there has to be some hype.
I suppose idk why i want at least 10-6 and win a playoff game before i get hyped but i understand what your saying alot of cowboys fans are like that.
We all know what December brings? We'll find out what this team is made of. I'm shooting for a playoff win but this month obviously will tell what the Cowboys want. Except for the Redskins the Cowboys will be facing playoff teams. So good luck in December.
I'm not so quick to chalk up the NO game as a loss. NO defense has given up 22 more points than the Dallas D this season and they have played one game less! Plus the Dallas D is much better than they were early in the season. It will be a tough game for sure but I give our Cowboys as good a shot as any team because of our Defense!
Hey remember that game I think it was Last Week when the Cowboys were losing by six becouse they didnt do the extra point but the The Cowboys DID the extra point!!! It was a funny game the final score was 7-6
Hey! The Broncos did destroy the Giants!! Made them look horrible!! It was nice... and Brandon Marshal went off on a couple of catches! If we can play with the same intensity as the Broncos, we shouldn't have a problem with the downhill sliding Giants..
Great job yesterday Dallas Cowboys!! I'm so glad the Giants coughed it up to the Broncos too! I'd love to say that the Giants have an even tougher opponent with the Cowboys next week...but then again, we also got beat by the Broncos. But man it would be so sweet if we could put the Giants away next week....especially considering the pesky Eagles will more than likely keep winning to try and catch us. I'm already chalking up a loss for the NO game. Not being a pessimist, just a realist.
I haven't heard of it happening on any pro team! In any sport. I had always heard of his speed but so many guys have speed that turn out to be nothing. I am totally blown away by his routes, hands and the fact he runs like a running back after he makes the catch!
I don't like his attitude...not one bit. He needs to calm down. Him throwing his hands up in the air(twice) was way over the top. Let's put it like this....It I was a defensive player, I would look to take his head off...honestly.
I don't know trying2understand...all the Cowboys celebrating gets on my nerves a little.
You don't want to give those head hunters on D an excuse. Trust me...I know the mentality of those guys. They want to hurt you...there's no reason to give them an excuse. Like I said...If I was playing against Dallas, I'd want to knock the $HIT out of him.
But...I'm not a celebration guy...I hate it. I LOVE emotion but HATE celebration until you are pouring champagne.
I hear ya. I didn't consider it from that perspective: that cocky thing. That stuff can definitely get out of hand...especially when you really haven't proven anything yet (i.e. won a super bowl). I don't like these guys getting their heads too big either. It's kind of a catch 22 also though, because in this league a little bit of swagger is healthy. I don't know...I just hope he keeps making those big plays.
The "on the field" stuff is cool...don't loose any of that. The fans may have loved it at the time but we can't have too many of those freaky Jesus Christ poses....lol
Teammates see that stuff too. Hopefully he is getting his balls busted by the team...like they did after that silly airplane propeller around the goal post thingy...lol
The Cowboys always had high hopes for miles but this is rediculous! There was hope for him being a solid number two but still a questionmark. But WOW. The numbers he's putting up will be hall if fame if he keeps it up! The Cowboys have clearly made an effort to get Williams the ball lately and he's still racking up crazy yards!
Like I was telling Dangelo below. I can't fault them for not seeing this because I watched the receivers practice everyday for years and never elevated him above Sam Hurd. I've NEVER seen anything close to this in close to 30years of watching football.
shango alot of time's it takes a qb and wr 3 to 4 years before they break out in the NFL. it happens all the time with Wr's and Qb's .. Look at TO, Steve Smith, Etc I think what's different was Mile's is the fact he wasn't even drafted thus not expected to ever be this good. But I don't believe the Cowboy's overlooked anything, it just took him sometime to grow into his position. Also he's dealt with some injuries too.
Need better examples than that...lol TO was a full-time starter by week 8 of his rookie year and Steve Smith was a full time starter to start his second season. Miles was on the team when we have been looking for a number 2. Hell Miles was on the team when we traded a kings ransom for a #2 WR. Remember...I was at TC everyday for two years in a row. I never saw what I see now either. If we thought he would be anything close to what he is now...we would have never gave up so much for Roy.
LOVED that game! LOVE Miles Austin!! I hope the Cowboys can keep this going! So glad the Broncos laid it on the Giants!! Whoo Hoo! Now lets hope that the Eagles lose Sunday! :)
man, yo we beat ur tigers bro, ended their 30 game november winning streak. and our Football team almost did it vs UT, and da Cowboys W and Giants L, man great thanksgiving day:)
Well to be honest...Clemson only plays York Technical College, Limestone College, or someone of that caliber in Nov. It gives them some wins before the ACC beats on you.
They played horrible...33%...20 points in the first. They'll get better as the season goes on.
Yeah next week is huge. A win keeps the Cowboys atleast a game ahead of the Eagles, and would keep the Giants 3 games out (which, with the way they're playing, I doubt they'll have much of a chance). If they lose they could fall into a tie for the division lead (if the Eagles beat the Skins, and Falcons)
Shango...My brother...You are spot on, my brother from another mother.....I recall an off season conversation we were having with Miles on his way to visit the Jets. Remember?? I said it was a mistake to let him go, and many didn't care. Now look!
We have the talent and the month of December is going to come down to three key's IMO.
Health, adjustments, and execution. If we can get and stay healthy, make the proper game adjustments, and execute up to the talent level. We are GOLDEN.
I know dec is comeing up but i have a strong feeling we are going to be rolling into the playoffs and some one on our schudule that is underfeated is going down when they face us already had the dream happy thansgiving everyone win lose tie cowboy till i die !!!!
Hey man. As a Vikings fan, I give credit where it's due. You guys had a great game today and you had help from all over. Miles Austin had a breakout game and Asomugha wasn't a factor for the Raiders on defense whatsoever. And Roy Williams caught a pass which is surprising. lol. But anyways, I wish your team the best of luck for the duration of the season. And Happy Thanksgiving. = )
Tony Romo almost had 2int before halftime which couldve easily both been returned for tds. and easily been 14-3. Who was that T.Scott guy?

CJ Spiller...that's the only name I'm saying all off-season!
He is Percy Harvin plus.
Do we need him? YES!
Where?
KR(we will be looking for 6 everytime or Romo will have the ball at the 20.
PR(we will be looking for 6 on every return)
Slot(CJ has great hands and will be unstoppable on that Garrett WR screen)
Wildcat(Choice,CJ,Felix) AHHHHH!!!
I'm sorry but Roy and MB3 are slowing up this offense. MB3 is having a pretty good year too. 4.6 average is VERY good.

He almost always makes plays then.
Want another catch22 associated with that? lol.

against a horrible team why does he show up against bad teams but against good teams he has like 20-40 yards

shango alot of time's it takes a qb and wr 3 to 4 years before they break out in the NFL. it happens all the time with Wr's and Qb's .. Look at TO, Steve Smith, Etc I think what's different was Mile's is the fact he wasn't even drafted thus not expected to ever be this good. But I don't believe the Cowboy's overlooked anything, it just took him sometime to grow into his position. Also he's dealt with some injuries too.
DangeloM27 2 years ago
Need better examples than that...lol TO was a full-time starter by week 8 of his rookie year and Steve Smith was a full time starter to start his second season. Miles was on the team when we have been looking for a number 2. Hell Miles was on the team when we traded a kings ransom for a #2 WR. Remember...I was at TC everyday for two years in a row. I never saw what I see now either. If we thought he would be anything close to what he is now...we would have never gave up so much for Roy.

Well to be honest...Clemson only plays York Technical College, Limestone College, or someone of that caliber in Nov. It gives them some wins before the ACC beats on you.
They played horrible...33%...20 points in the first. They'll get better as the season goes on.
thedallascowboyshow 2 years ago
man that seemed like a scrimmage game for the broncos lol are the giants that bad?

If only the eagles lose on Sunday that will make my holiday weekend awesome :)
2RICO2SUAVE 2 years ago
Yeah next week is huge. A win keeps the Cowboys atleast a game ahead of the Eagles, and would keep the Giants 3 games out (which, with the way they're playing, I doubt they'll have much of a chance). If they lose they could fall into a tie for the division lead (if the Eagles beat the Skins, and Falcons)

One Word: Choice.
1. T. Choice was beasting, wasn't I the one who kept saying to give T.C. more touches. :D
2. Miles Austin is making alot of the right Choices. That's a good thing. :D
GO COWBOYS!

If we can win at least 3 of these last 5, then there's no reason why we can't challenge for the Super Bowl.
December...

That didn't stop 25- 30 people laughing at me after the game was over. Horrible memory.
thedallascowboyshow 2 years ago
KingPhilip103085 2 years ago
I think miles just worked hard this off season man, looks like he added some explosiveness to his game and running good ass routes never hurt either.
2DamnConservative 2 years ago
...and the Dolphins didn't win another game all year, either!
theTRUTHgroup 2 years ago
Miles was a beast today... Did he get the Turkey Bowl Trophy?
I think we can beat the giants, we have a better team now, they barely beat us when we had worst team.
That was November to remember baby! November to remember...
