i am a huge fan of rugby it's hands down my favourite sport i've been playing for ten years now and i also game a lot, and i have to say that this is the absolutely the biggest let down of a game i have ever played. i actually could not believe how crap it was. the worst part about it is that the players are complete randoms who did not play in the world cup!!! all i wanted was a good rugby game where i could play as my rugby idol's and i got this piece of shit. there isnt even a tutorial. poo.

I'm hopefully getting Rugby Challenge today in the post(If I'm lucky) and it looks to be the much better overall game, due to the licenses, graphics etc. but this game even though it is very easy and doesn't have many licenses seems to have more of the essence of rugby. Both games seem good and hopefully it'll only get better from here but I think I'll wait until this game comes way down in price after the world cup until I purchase.

I have both games and challenge is better. Only Australia, New Zealand and USA are licensed properly but you can legitimize most of the other teams cause the players can be found in their club teams and you can put them into their national sides, you can't do that with the world cup game for unliscenced Australia and New Zealand (what were they thinking). You can play a world cup in rugby challenge anyway and gameplays better too. The only thing better about world cup is the commentary.

lol, this sounds like rugby '05. I was going to get this but it looks like both rugby challenge and this game have made a shit all effort to have at lest 20 OFFICIAL teams with a REAL kit and REAL players. Why can't EA sports make another rugby game, even in Rugby '05 the teams and players were realistic.

Its called Wallabies rugby challenge in Australia, all blacks rugby challenge in New Zealand and Jonah Lomu rugby challenge everywhere else. They should have it in most game stores dude.

its annoying how on medium and hard difficulty the cpu goes the same way as me every time and on mine if you concede a penalty for a dangerous tackle(which you cant control)in your own half and the cpu decides to kick for goal then they always take it from the centre spot

Thought it was pretty honest review, I struggled with the same thing. Prefer RC, purely because it has more modes and more licenses. Atleast they have the right idea and bugs can be patched up. With RWC, not even patches could help that game. HB are definitely just trying to cash in on it's namesake.

yeah it is , just bought it today & im loving it, MUCH more challenging playing on medium , played 4 matches so far and only won one lol , i was wales vs aussies though , was some really good close games .

its a lot of fun, very glad i bought it .

I might pick up rugby challenge later on in the year if they patched all its gameplay problems that i keep hearing about .

I personally think they rushed RC to try & be out for the World cup, hopefully they patch it right

Are you seriously THAT naive , they dont have to pay them , often they do it for exclusive deals on game info , IGN do that shit all the time , & since game info is the bread & butter to sites like IGN & gamestop its no small thing having first dibs on game info .

I dont own 08 but if it was like this i missed out ,

& i doubt its exactly the same , i know they increased the difficulty for 1 , it has better animations & graphics from the 08 vids ive looked at , it all plays extremely smooth & responsive , its got some new gameplay features added that make it better , it has online tht plays lag free.

he complains about lack of tactics here saying just 8 to choose from , but RC has no set pieces from wht i hear

1st off this so called review is 'extremely' one sided, & its well known and excepted that you need to be careful with reviews because many DO get paid or have some sort of exclusivety deal with certain companies in return for backing their game, its the same with move reviews.

& 2nd he isnt defending the game, he's played both & is giving an honest opinion ,one has lots of features but some gameplay probs, the other, few features but more solid gameplay

Thx for responding to my comment m8 , for the past 2 hours i have been desperately searching for feedback from people from NZ who have played Rugby challenge & RWC, to try & determine which ones gameplay feels better,

I played the RWC demo ( never played 08 ) & really loved the flow of the game,

it seems like solid gameplay that will be a lot of fun online & on harder difficulties.

& online is supposed to be very smooth too. Gonna get RWC tomorrow & RC a little later on
