Hi there, maybe you could help me. I´m having problem with my CPU. I have i5-760 @ 2.81. I OC it to 3.6 but when i start my fsx, first cca 5 seconds are super, increased fps and everything but after the cca 5 seconds it drops to around 5 and stays there. Don´t you know where is the problem? Cheers!

@FS98FSX i5s are a lot more powerful than people think. the second gen 2500k would outpeform most of the X58 i7s.

ok I take it your fps whent down considerably using FRAPS? Also what CPU is your favourite i5 or the i7s?

@Lewy1997 - yes by at least 10-15fps, I love my i7 for various reasons, but for FSX you'd be hard pressed to find a difference.

Did you have to use liquid nitrogen or something because I just bought the same processor today, no oc but the frames in fs are simply amazing. If it's okay how did you oc your computer (I know it's in bios) but is it safe without buying an extra fan or LIQUID NITROGEN

@imthentertainer liquid nitrogen is only used by professional overclockers for extreme overclocks which water cooling cant even handle...

read some overclocking guides online

it is safe as long as the temperatures stay at safe levels

lol it was funny though cos we were playing a game when it went real quite and hen BOOOOM!!! it exploded,the chip had fried and so did the ram,the case was ripped 2 bits.he was really sad cos the case was cool and the comp was really good,

well i went into bios and i can only change somthing about mghz and voltage ,thats the only field i can change,so i tried changing it to a higher value(133 to 155)and my system was going a little faster and i gaind about 1fps on fsx on everything maxed out but when i exited the game it started to lagg just a tiny bit so i restarted my comp,this useully takes 20 secs on my comp but this time it took about 60secs ,so can you tell me if i did anything wrong or any other way to overclock?? plz reply

@faizan221 if you overclock to 4.0ghz, you'll be close, but that 240gt may bottleneck you a bit.

@Eirwan95 1GB is probably your problem, what windows are you using? Haha whoever told you that is a moron.. the more you overclock, the more performance you get.. 3.0ghz on my i7 is much slower than 4.0ghz.

FSGenesis is just the MESH - which is all the hills, mountains, basically all the elevations, REX is HD clouds, water, runway/taxi textures, etc.

FSX is highly dependent on CPU speed - So getting that i7 to 4.0ghz would yield you some positive results.

And do you have SP1 and SP2 installed for FSX?

fsgenesis is mesh, as in it improves hills/mountains etc. GEX replaces default textures. I would get GEX first. amazing.

You could overclock that duo to at least 3.5 - and be able to run fsx somewhat decent, the card would hold you back.
