Oh man I used to talk about growing houses all the time! Engineering vegetables to grow huge and use cells within em as rooms and such... People always think I'm weird when I talk about this. There was a dude I used to follow back in the day... I don't remember his name anymore though. I'm pretty sure it wasn't that dude on your video though. Excellent stuff!
i once met a lady who claimed having been an atlantean in a previous life. i thought she was the most appaling new age geek i'd ever met - at that time i was young and both very impressionable and VERY sceptical, almost cynic. anyway she said that on atlantis, the people knew how to communicate with plants, manipulating them to become buildings. i don't know just how crazy this woman was, but i remember i loved that particular idea. laffoley's a brilliant guy!
Crossmack is such an idiot. I almost think he's like the cute chic who's really good at the kareoke bar, but secretly works for the establishment. Let's stay here and live in the green houses.
I imagine we'll do both eventually. I'm not against space exploration and I'm certainly not against living in harmony with the planet. I don't think those two things are antithetical to each other. If it seems that way, it's only because we're still a very destructive species and our current technology reflects that in many ways. That will change as we evolve.
The modern concept of an organism is that it is inseperable from it's environment. The Earth is part of us, we are made of it and sicken quickly when removed from it's embrace. (space sickness) Space is an empty void for light years in any direction. The whole thing is a fantasy used to justify the development of military technologies.
For some reason this video reminded me of the Museum of Jurasic Technology. Have you ever been there? It's on Venice Blvd. (somewhere in the Culver City area). If you haven't been there, the you should check it out.
Wow, Shawn, I've never really thought about this, actually I have once or twice, getting plants to grow into a functional form you design, but never have seen this 'out there' with people working on it and stuff, please do post the entire show, I would love to watch it.
Growing spaceships! Excellent idea. I think I might start the first online business selling spaceship seeds. If the entire human race decides to go to another planet in spaceships... I'll be rich!!!
dude your channel just jumped to my top 5!! nice fucking production. i have to go back and watch the video again so i can see what you were talking about haha
I remember watching this like 2 or 3 years ago, you should share this on facebook...

Nope - haven't heard from Ian. He'll probably just steal my idea and claim to have come up with it himself.
