@ninuun23 If you're running the newest version then it's the Unity interface. It's completely different than classic gnome. If you don't like unity, try out Linux Mint, it's based off of Ubuntu with a different GUI.

@Uknown231231231 Android is built on Linux 2.6, Ubuntu is also build on Linux, but its now 3.1. Linux is a kernel, its the complete distribution that makes it an OS. Personal I would opt for Ubuntu 11.10 its very nice and shiny. Though Ubuntu 12.04 out next April 2012 will be something to talk about.

I have Ubuntu 11.10 as my sole operating system with Windows XP in a virtualbox should I every need to use it again for MS Access DB. Windows 7 was on my PC no more. My Hard drive loves EXT4 more

It changed it like he showed but when I try to drag firefox over to the second monitor I get the Ubuntu version of Aero Snap. Is there a way to stop that so I can drag from one monitor to the other like in this video? Thanks.

@overkill480 I am dual booting Ubuntu 11.04 with Windows 7. Ubuntu has locked up at least 4 or 5 times in the 5 days or so that I have been using it. So what you said to iseegeekpeople is incorrect.

@nckkent I agree with you Window is great and Ubuntu despite the lock ups is great too. Dual booting you get the best of both OS's which is an unstoppable force.

Just a couple of things:

1) If you DO decide to use ubuntu full time, please do a FULL install (instead of wubi) to get a LOT better performance

2) When upgrading the graphics driver you do NOT need to reboot, logging out and back is all that is required (yeah, try wrapping your head around THAT windows users!)

3) When changning your screen layout (multi-display, etc), logging out/in is once again all that is required.

The only time you really need to reboot ubuntu is for Kernel updates.
