  • Minas Tirith... The city of Kings.

  • this piece has so much beautiful imagery attached to it, makes me emotional. it's so hard to believe that this film was made by a film crew and isn't a real history of a real event.

  • Sing me a song.

  • ....strength enough perhaps to challenge the dark lord?

  • Harry Potter, try to beat this 4:23

  • I forgot how much I love this theme!

  • Krakrikro

  • For Gondor !

  • This makes me cry D:

  • this trilogy was the best possible combination of cinematography, story telling and musicianship. No feat like this will ever be achieved again. But i sure as hell hope im wrong. BRING ON THE HOBBIT!

  • @PhilboBaggins95 I Agree with you till death

  • by 1:00 with 1:15 it reminds me the hatement of the Dark Lord which is coming from the deeps of the Sea (Numenor with few words)

  • the dislike bar is the size of Saurons penis. Oh wait, an eye has no penis. Oh wait, there's no dislike bar either.

  • GUYs LOTR is nothing to do with World War you stupids..

  • It is the Star Wars of my generation.

  • I'm sorry but if the Lord of the Rings movies don't make you want to like be a better person, then there may not be much hope for you, I'm afraid.

  • lord of the rings soundtrack is SOOOO AWESOME

  • I would die if they re-released this trilogy in theaters. I'd have to go see it a bigillion times. <3

  • i'll liket for ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • What is the music of 6:58

  • Why can't i find this song on any of the lotr cd's ? Not even on the long ass sets of over 3 hours :(

  • This movie was GREAT, but there was one thing i found really frustrating - the fighting skill of the gondorian soldiers..

  • @Valuablebraathen568 true, they died too easily :/

  • @Valuablebraathen568

How could you fight when witnessing the last line of defence, Osgiliath that has fallen and a huge army await outside the walls of your capital? The men were then terrorized with the heads of their decapitated soldiers. I think the men of Gondor did well thanks to the rallying of Gandalf.

  • @RobotsGreatWar2 dude i spoke on behalf of the books.. still jackson did it to make the orcs more frightening i guess,

  • @Valuablebraathen568 Even in te books they weren't exactly in high spirits, and Jackson was i think trying to emphasise the brutal nature of the orcs who kinda mindlessly throw themselves into battle, what can you do against a creature that doesn't care about itself but is determined to kill you any way possible?

  • @Shellewell well, i know that the men were exausted and de-organized, but still a man of gondor; "... 8 feet high with chainmail and armorplates made of the finest steel" in addition to proper training, should have done better atleast at the walls of minas tirith scene when the orcs are attack from the towers. They knew they were the only hope for their family and sacred city, ergo in that case the moral shouldnt really be a problem!

  • Why cant i raise BOTH thumbs up??

  • I have the small Minas Tirith Model :)

  • "We've just passed into the Realm of Gondor!"

  • The Great Eye, i have been really searching for that song, i want too use it in some of my vids the beginning part of the falling of gondor is really great! do u know were i can get it? i have searched everywere itunes included?

  • The beacons is my favourite scene

  • "The beacon is lit!!!!

    Gondor calls for aid"

  • @nigga851 And Rohan will answer! Muster the Rohirrim!

  • @RODragoshRO We will assemble the army at Dunharrow. As many men as can be found. You have 2 days, and on the 3rd, we ride for Gondor, and war!

  • To me, one of the best soundtrack ever (if not the best one).

I'm shivering each time I hear it.

  • @ShadzukyMizuho At 4:22, I shiver EVERY time!

  • @RODragoshRO Actually, it begins at 3:20 ^^

  • @ShadzukyMizuho I know, but i get chills down my spine at that part! (4:22)

  • @RODragoshRO ya, 7:07 too... holy sheet.... music. hehe

  • What is the music of 4:22 ??

  • @spiderligh The Lighting of the Beacons

  • @jediking12 Thank you.

  • FOR GONDOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @jediking12 Where did you found that Rarities Archival?

  • @charronmaxime97 its a CD that comes with the book "The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films"

  • 6:55 so EPIC

  • I was born to this song.

  • What is this soundtrack called and where can i find it? Its not minas tirith, that one is only 3 mins long.

  • ooh my god the horns that play at 7:05 pure epic

  • wow u just uploaded this year 2011 just surprise i feel sad theme for gondor

  • Anybody else realise that 8:18 is missing? I was told that was the best part!!

  • So, there is still strength in Men...

  • @dillonator42 The Eldar have passed, now begins the age of man, may it be blessed.

  • @dillonator42 Yes and sauron fears that lol :D

  • @dillonator42 some men body like lord of the rings is trying to tell us men are worst to them selfs all the greed for power insted of finishing it in the first body then there wood be no movie

  • Wow, amazing Horn parts!

Shore is a musical genius...his music transports the mind and shows it wonders...wonders the world 'as na'er seen...

  • I will personally terminate the first person to dislike this video.

  • such a great theme!=)

  • Aragorn: I have seen the White City, long ago.

Boromir: One day, our paths will lead us there and the tower guard will take up the call: The Lords of Gondor have returned.

  • Where is 3:06 from?

Love the music btw, I can play Minas Tirith myself on my keyboard :D

  • @ingotjuh Its from The Two Towers in a deleted scene where Boromir is making a speech in Osgiliath

  • @jediking12 Do you know the soundtrack name?

  • @ingotjuh Sons Of The Steward

  • Fucking Epic

  • Makes me think of Aragorn, son of Arathorn.

  • this and rohan's themes are the best

  • i love the gondor song ¡ its fantastic

  • This Is the reason why i love music, This is magic.

  • this and evenstar are the greatest soundtracks from lotr

  • 6:00 - 6:25, WHERE IS THIS IS IN THE MOVIE. i've heard it before and it's killing me, but I don't remember what part in the movie it's at.

  • @trollagorn The Theatrical Trailer to Return of the King actually

  • @jediking12 ahhh yes, how silly of me. thanks

  • wow no dislikes impressive

  • My information is dirctly from Tolkien's own ideas and writings, The Shire = Untied Kingdom, Rohan= Germany and other Scandinavian country's based on The Norse, Gondor = Italy and Greece based on the Roman and Greek society's, Mordor = Turkey, Erebor and The Iron Hills and the Grey Mountains = Russia, tough the dwarves were based on scottish people. Rhun = Mongolia and Persia, Harad= Persia, Turkey (in P.J. films the Haradrim are based on the Aztecs and Mayas).

  • A very nice compilation of all the best musics of the movies...

  • I was about to write about what nationalities Rohan and Gondor can be compared with in an analogy. I see some people have already. Even so, I disagree with their ideas. Rohan can be seen as many western democracies, but none more so than Great Britain. Gondor seems the more civilised, yet if anything Great Britain is the most civilised country in the world - and yes I am British and proud. In many ways, Rohan is historically the North of Britain, and Gondor the South. USA? GTFO lol

  • Howard Shore... How talented can you BE?

  • I was always asking myself, from what food did gondorians life?

  • @TomV98

    No, more like:

Gondor as UK and Rohan as France! Mordor is just the USA:P

  • @BramHaz95 , the opposite i would say... Geographicaly and culturaly i would say that :

    Gondor = France

Rohan = UK (the Rohan in the books ho is , has advanced has Gondor not the one in the movies)

    Mordor = Germany + Austro-hungarien Empire

    Umbar = Turkey

And the USA aren't represented in the "Lord of the Ring's" saga because the LotR where written during WW1 not WW2 . the USA are symbolised by the Army's of the Valars ho saved Middle Earth in the "Silmarillion's" Book's .

  • @XBotticelli The Shire wpuld of been Ireland

Lets not forget Númenor that would be Denmark

    Angmar would be like Finland

  • @jediking12 , Nùmenor is the Atlantis , it does not symbolise any country that has existed. but the Shire is without a doute Ireland.

  • @XBotticelli then who would the elves of Lothlorien be? China? lol

  • @XBotticelli xD what is this?

tolkien himself said that rohan was how he imagined the germans of the past, gondor and the seafarers cities that belong to it represent the anglo saxians. clearly, mordor, umbar, harad are moddelled after the south.

in the book itself he says that lotr has nothing to do with the ww ... the whole thing is based on german mythologie, dude ^^

(i know the comment was old but i had to correct this)

  • @TomV98 hmmm yeah... no... yeah... no. would not make sense since UK was way before USA i thought more i think i have to agree with jediking12... the US is a very young country. Ireland and UK are better

  • @WoWrocks3388 I don't think the USA would be in Middle earth with a 16th Century feel. Because 16th Century era and culture was established in England, it wouldn't make since for it be in USA

I don't really think of the Shire as England I think of it as Ireland England fits more with Gondor and Rohan is Norway

  • @jediking12 i agree, i dont think USA fits with "middle-earth" since the USA didnt exist in medieval times so i cant imagine how the US would have been in medieval times, would be weird if you think about it.

  • @WoWrocks3388 and I think the Undying Lands is like in the Caribbean or something

  • @jediking12 hehe :3

  • Minas Tirith. City of Kings.

  • All governments are shit.

And saying that all of us Westerners are evil is very very simplistic, like saying that the Western infants deserve to die too because they're part of the race which is destroying the East. Fuck that. It's the GOVERNMENT which deserves to die. Cameron, Obama and all the others in the government are fucking evil. Technically all of us humans are evil and we shouldn't be allowed.

But the Shire is England, Rohan is France, Gondor is Italy and Mordor is the Black Sea.

  • @ScarisClaudius I agree with you. Anyone saying that a complete section of the Earth is evil can't be serious. You just can't say that every living people in the West are evil because of the decisions and actions of their government. We are humans just like you. We live, we love, we work and we die, as simply as it is.

  • Usa was in the Korean War.

You killed the children in Korea, you have bombing Serbia and you have killed 3000 man women and children.

You are atacking Iraq and Libia because you need Oil,and your western democracy sucks.

  • You are crazy ,you people from the west are evil. You have thinking that you are defender of good ,but you are destroying the people lives.Gondor is old and Usa is young country it have only 233 years.Mordos is Usa ,they are evil and they are kiling children i Iraq ,afghanistan ,Serbia ,Libia ,Vietnam North Korea and others.

  • @ProbablyImprobable haha you are obviously badly informed. No one in North Korea is being killed by any western nation. Hell, no one dares even speak to North Korea for fear of a nuclear winter. You are a zealot, a proud middle eastern man. I admire your patriotism but good sir your information is wrong.

  • @ProbablyImprobable And where do you live? Are you from one of those nations? Or are you from the USA which lets its citizens demonize it? If you were North Korean and criticized the government you'd be imprisoned, probably executed. A man in Iran was recently arrested for being Christian. Gondor is make-believe too. And its younger than the US since Tolkien made it up. The majority of children killed in those nations are killed by terrorists or their own governments.

  • 0:35 is the best part, cause it`s is from when Strider is revealed to be Aragorn!

  • This is the best Lord of the Rings theme song!!

  • @TomV98 ... France was the model for Rohan. More precisely the west of france, the country of horsemen ;). Cf Tolkien.

  • SHEET MUSIC PLEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSE!!!!!

  • @TomV98 I thought of Rohan as Ireland and Gondor as UK and Mordor Afghanstan

  • @jediking12 i'm pretty sure Tolkien didn't care about the US. Rohan is anglo-saxon england , gondar is a glorified version of crusader england. the elves pretty much a glorified version of Scandinavians.

  • This is my favourite part of the score, which is a tough call because there are so many wonderful pieces of music in this score. Shore is a genius.

  • 4:22 WOW EPIC!!!!! O_O

  • @HeadandShoulder2 It gives me goosebumps everytime, especially when im watching the Beacon scene alongside it.

    Goddamn! is New Zealand beautiful!

  • I love Howard Shore's music. I close my eyes and it feels like I have been taken to another world! Good to see that he will be back to score for The Hobbit.

  • Man, think about it.

Gandalf is an angel. A FUCKING ANGEL.

And more than that, after he dies with the Balrog fight, he's definitely elevated to ARCHANGEL.

Harry Potter is a teenage wizard, barely out of his pyjamas, with no special abilities whatsoever apart from the ability to cry 'EXPELLIARMUS' and 'REDUCTO' and 'ACCIO' and 'EXPECTO PATRONUM' whenever he can, before Gandalf blasts him into oblivion 'YOU SHALL NOT PASS!' (Not to mention the counter-spell Gandalf used against the Balrog)

  • Harry Potter can win over Gandalf in a duel of magic

  • @doodleguitarist No he couldn't. Harry Potter sucks compared to Gandalf. GANDALF RULES!!

  • @HippoGryphFeather Posted that 32 minutes ago. Got your reply 25 minutes ago. It took 7 minutes for someone to reply to that. Man trolling is easy!

  • This music defines the word Epic =)

  • LORD OF THE RINGS IS FUCKING FAKE AND GAY.. GOGO GRIFFENDORE!!!.

  • (Board meeting of Mordor Enterprises, Sauron and Easterling Kings in suits)

Sauron: As of today, Mordor Enterprises Inc., has surpassed all other organizational profits in the Easterling States Military. In short, gentlemen, freedom is down, production is up, and Rings have never been higher.

Khamul: Wonderful news, my Lord. Wonderful. Which is in fact the reason we are selling the company.

    Sauron: What...?

Morgomir: Yes in fact Isengard Corporation's made an offer we can't ignore.

  • Sauron: Fuck you gondor, My orcs will destroy you.

Theoden: Fuck that shit, we'll beat ur lame ass orcs back with our cavelry!

Sauron: HA! CAVALRY? Weve got fucking ELEPHANTS!!!!

Aragorn: LOLOL! Im somehow gonna come outta nowhere now with a fucking huge ass army of ghosts and dominate ur shit!

Sauron: Awww wtf man thats not fair >:O

No matter what, good guys win.

  • @iamconnor11

wow...what a poor interpretation of the lord of the rings trilogy...

  • @NormbrettaMod it was a joke... do u really want me to make a joke while rewriting every fucking thing in the books? obviously u dont know the meaning of the term "Humour."

  • @iamconnor11

    it was incredibly poor humour...

  • @NormbrettaMod only cuz u ruined it with ur stupid remark

  • @iamconnor11

    it was before that

  • does anyone know the name of the backround song in lotrfotr where boromir said the thing about being called home by silver trumpets to aragorn? i love that!

  • @666fuckoffandie The Mirror Of Gladriel

  • @jediking12 Actually, the melody is called the White Tree. It's supposed to represent the former glory of Gondor.

  • LOTR:BFME 2: Rise of the witch king ;)

  • @skyhighw33d did you say one of the best, dude it IS the best movie/book ever made!!!

  • you have an amazing channel Sir/Madame :)

  • thumbs up if when 6:00-7:07 u thought "all you have to do, is decide what to do with the time that is given to you" and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • "Gondor calls for aid!"

    "And Rohan will answer!"

Im sorry Sauron, Rohan and Gondor have just come together, your screwed...

  • its awesome...too bad that i cant find it

  • <3 TOLKIEN <3 That man .... omG this is masterpiece :O ! LORD OF THE RINGS IS FUCKING MASTERPIECE ! *ROHIRRIM* !

  • The White City

  • My favorite scene in the entire trilogy is when they light the beacons of Amon Din. The music fits so well. Peter Jackson did AMAZING work on this movie and he chose the right music for the right moments.

  • @kazmohdim And when Aragorn sees the last beacon lit and runs to the palace, screaming: The BEACONS OF GONDOR ARE LIT! THE BEACONS ARE LIT! Gondor calls for aid!

Then silence fills the room as the camera pams over Éowyn, Éomer, Legolas and Gimli.

Théoden: And Rohan will answer. Muster the Rohirrim!

  • Ever since I read about the history of the Dúnedain, from the founding of Númenor in the Second Age, to the birth of the Reunited Kingdom in the Fourth Age, it was love at the first sight. I don't know how to explain, but I akways felt a kind of connection to the Men of the West more than any other Elvish, Dwarvish, Hobbitish or even Mannish cumunity.

  • I feel like watching these movies again, and I just watched them not even a week ago.

  • one thing the book did not have was awesome music, I love my creativitie to combinate them, this music while im reading the book

  • wats the name of the theme from the fellowhip where boromir is talking to aragorn in lothlorien about minas tirith

  • The Lord of The Rings was the second most read book of the 20th Century after the Bible, and that's only because the Bible had a 2000 year head start...

  • I love Rohan but Gondor is best.

  • The movies are good, but the books... it's not just a fantasy story. Its about almost everything.

  • @FlawlessFlaw07 Don't you get pissed off with those douches who say that Lord of the Rings ISN'T a mythological book!?!!

  • @FlawlessFlaw07 I wish it was real, when reading the book I convinced myself at times it was. Its not just a fantasy story, It's a whole world. Somewhere out there, even in an alternate dimension, it HAS to exist.

  • what is the melody right at 6:00 ?

  • @sekytwo The Return of the King Trailer

  • Yes I like it thanks for upload

  • Can someone tell me which musical instrument is used to play 3:07 - 3:19 ?

  • @usercemal Sounds like a trumpet feature or a trombone playing really high notes.

  • @usercemal That would be a trumpet.

  • the parts 7:00 - 8:17 are awesome

  • @skyhighw33d THE best

  • Great! The best video posted on a search for the theme of Gondor. Thank you!

  • Like this if u are a PSYQO LOTR FAN LIKE ME!!!!

  • for "the lighting of the beacons", i would prefer "the white tree" version better

  • Due to the Gondor Theme I started playing the double french horn! I

l LOVE the first 35 secs of this clip. Such a beautiful legato! Gives me goosebumps.

Is this clip made of parts of "The Complete Recordings" by Howard Shore? I still need to buy these 10 CDs. Or is it all "The Rarities" CD from Doug's book?
