  • in the Holy Quran which is more than 1500 years old book,in it God says "and the skys we build by hands and we are expanding". today they discovered the space is expanding, also God says " didnt they see that the skys and the earth were sticked together and we split them" , prooves the big bang :), take it easy every1 ;)

  • only men explore? im a 14 year old girl and havnt met alot of people but EvolutionSoothsayer you sound like the most ignorant fuck i have personally ever met.

  • Fake

  • Two galaxies having a crash is pretty freaking intense..

  • takke reklames tussendoor!

  • Hold, on I'm gonna need another bologna sandwich and a glass of chocolate milk for this one.

  • Doctor Who knows time traveling, you should ask him about it.

  • Pause at 18:33 Is that bo selecta's Mel B?

  • time travel to 2099

  • OH GOD I'M SO HIGH

  • really enjoy watching this doc,sum good information for people who like to know more about astronomy.thnax for sharing.

  • i love space shit , its fascinating as hell and makes my mind explodes with what if's

  • The answers are in the heavens....its a shame they want to spend that money on fighting vs this

  • 'are they star-forming, proto-galactic sub-fragments, what are they?' (0:33) - Nice!

  • human thought, emotion, and feeling is encoding into time and space.

  • i may sound crazy but i wish i could go out in space and continue to drift forever and continue just to explore and see what else is out their but eventually even the most unsocial people would go insane like myself from lonlyness and no contact with other living breathing thinking beings and i would begin to miss my freinds and family and just feel weird alone and crazy as i leave earth and all her civilization does anyone else feel the same

  • sometimes i feel like wanting to go out in space and continue drifting but as it get loneleyer and loneleyer away from earth and civilization i will begin to go insane and feel like we are the only living thing in this universe i hope not and i hope were the smartest if so but i would want to keep going to see whats out their and be immortal so i can se all befor i would normally die

  • All are connected by the negative chain and are in the lowest state, I all start it again from the original cause.

    全部が負の連鎖で繋がってしまい最低の状態に在る、元の元から全部やり直す。

  • i love space and all the extrmes that we cant even comprehend

  • stars making tavaff

  • fuck the morman ! WTF was that in there for!

  • OMG... I am feeling so small now :(

  • mainstream science...

    FAP

  • Make you wounder How the fuck space even got there you know what i mean just mind boggling thinking about it!

  • Heat is work and work's a curse And all the heat in the Universe Is gonna cooool down 'cos it can't increase Then there'll be no more work and there'll be perfect peace Really? Yeah - that's entropy, man! You can't pass heat from the cooler to the hotter Try it if you like but you far better notter 'Cos the cold in the cooler will get hotter as a ruler 'Cos the hotter body's heat will pass to the cooler

  • Fascinating, just fascinating. Today I learned that Texas actually has a reason to exist. And I intend to join in with the rest of the astronomical yokels, gawking at the crown of creation.

  • Did that "woman" just say, "our" desire to explore? Um only "men" explore. Women just shop.

  • @EvolutionSoothsayer Hahahahaha... :D

  • @EvolutionSoothsayer not funny.

  • @viicISrotcib yes it was

  • @viicISrotcib kinda funny.. but sexist for sure lol

  • @EvolutionSoothsayer Tell that to ROBERTA BONDAR, LOUISE A. BOYD, ISABELLA EBERHARDT, SUE HENDRICKSON, MAE C.JEMISON, MARY KINGSLEY, and , CHRISTA MCAULIFFE.

  • That is the most misogynous comment ever. For a "cultured" man you think you are, you are talking like a stupid cave man. Women don't just shop...maybe that's the only women YOU know. I know stupid men who only drink beer and watch football, but I also know brilliant, admirable men. I also know stupid women, and at the same time I know brilliant women. And hell yeah, some of us, men or women, would love to create wings for ourselves to explore creation.

  • @itzaramaja That's called a "joke" - google it.

  • @nihil1 well, it didn't sound funny to me, nor to 90% of the women watching this video, considering you "joke" is repeated over and over and over by men like you.

  • @itzaramaja You have absolutely no idea how a "man like me" is like to say anything about. When you grow up, maybe you can understand things enough to know you should't judge people by youtube comments.

  • @itzaramaja twas a joke.

  • @EvolutionSoothsayer and cook

  • @EvolutionSoothsayer Comments like yours and the opinions of 28 more of your fellow redneck morons are a prime example of the stupidity of the majority of the human species....Please don't have children so "our" species can actually evolve.

  • @EvolutionSoothsayer Shop with the money the man made from exploring.

  • @EvolutionSoothsayer here comes another anti-feminist............. gosh

  • @EvolutionSoothsayer Wow, that was completely sexist and unnecessary.

  • @EvolutionSoothsayer no fool

why did the men like Columbus,Vasco Da Gama etc discover countries??

because in that period people did not treat women and men as equals...

they possessed the desire to explore but you men never let them to...

    Whats wrong in shopping???

    U men never shop???EVER???

    so just shut your mouth...

  • I thought this was focused on space ... about 15 minutes were wasted rolling down a highway in Texas, seeing little boys look at car windows.

  • 0:25

Ultra nerd, just pause it for a min and look how nerdy.

  • i have this on VHS it was a PBS special in 1998 :D

  • OMG A VID CALLED "Edge of time"

    *watches it*

    ZZZzzzz... zzzz... zzz... huh?

Doctor who episodes are more mysterious than this.

  • OH YEAH insulting top comment!!! >=D

  • wrong it does not take 70,000 years for light to travel across the gaxaly; it takes 100,000 years

  • I got 3 fucking ads in this video

  • Some of the side clips, with scientists and PHD's talking kinda suck, but other than that, this series is very enjoyable to watch just because of Stacey's voice narrating. The narrator is always 65% of what makes a educational video a success. Just like voices of animated series rely heavily on voices not just visuals.

  • Thanks for posting this 6 part series. I like Stacy Keach. This was a really cool series put out, with him narrating. A must see for space buffs.

  • regardless of the men that have always believed theyve had understanding of the universe, based on presumptions, wise men know that we dont trully know much

  • repressed anger?

  • m 13 :D

  • wtf, commercial at half time, omfg!

  • @Delerious1987 I know, & I saw a religious commercial too! WTH!

  • what year is this from?

  • Guy at 5:08, YOU ARE A PUSSY!! I love Astronomy too, but there's nothing wrong with throwing back a few with friends or family.

  • You might not know this from looking at YouTube, but there's a "Part 2 of 6" to this video's "Part 1 of 6." I couldn't find it in the selection bar at the left of this page. I did a YouTube search and found it, but, OF COURSE, the CORPORATE NAZIS at YouTube fixed the commenting software so I couldn't post the link. Nice job, Adolf &co!

  • there is no edge in universe , actually it is, but it's so deep , so large that for human it is like "no edge" or "endless"

  • @ bluebeast2630 some of the stuff being found out by gazing upwards is helping us down here, it is true that a healthy planet comes first, but the money for that should be put away from other stuff like weddings of royalty, or NEW power plants, and so on...

  • Another form of human conditioning and you have our governments to thank for that one, sorry.. American and British governments, striking fear in to the people of this beautiful planet, so that we buy in to the idea of military thus supporting capitalism without a moments thought.

    You are all fucked.

    We, are all fucked.

Capitalism must END. Fuck UFOs as if they'd exist. If they did, we'd fucking see them and make our own minds up. Not rely on government theories!

  • lol i just got an add at 7 minutes into the vid :d ...

  • Under the "Big Bang" theory, all mass would be expanding from the point of origin.

Therefore; galaxies would theoretically not be able to collide with one-another, since they are all supposed to departing the point of nothingess that created it.

  • 2 ads in this video ?? looks like youtube got a strange sense of humor... "you dont like ads? well then... have two cups"

  • @TheHazardousMind Yeah I noticed it as well. If this thing catches on and spreads to lots of videos, I'm gonna try to find a new site to look to INSTEAD of youtube. God damnit that was annoying.

  • 6:40 damn, imagine looking up at the night sky and just watch as you and your planet spin through space o_o i would feel sick to my stomach... then smoke a blunt and feel alright :)

  • it is narcisistic that humans mostly expect to find alien life forms about their size, seems that to large or to small to see is close to absolutely excluded

  • Before this video started, there was an advertisement for the Mormon Religion. Since when did religions find the need to buy advertisement? What`s next, game shows....Come on down, you`re the next contestant on the `Prize is Christ.`

  • I had no idea galaxies were in patterns. It's Amazing! :D There are lots of things that happen in the universe yet it still maintains it's equilibrium and it's pattern. It's like the whole universe is some form of a huge art project with so many aspects and elements that makes it so beautiful and mesmerizing. It's moments like these that makes me think there has to be a Creator, a God that created something so amazing. Even if no one believes in God, admit that you appreciate the beauty of this

  • @LegendaryUsernameEva good point. but order out of chaos seems to be a common process of nature, therefore not necessarily requiring a creator. there is a great documentary on it on my channel if you're interested.

  • 9:08... Clouds of dust AKA " Nebula"

  • 9:08 ... The face of "God."

  • 7:30 I feel less significant the more I know

  • Comment removed

  • Whe even don't know about our planet. Maiby like 1%.

And others want to understand how everything happend!

  • Time is a dimension and it can also be followed back through the singularity to the other side. The presence of membranes suggested by M-theory, implies that time does exist before the so-called "Big Bang" which was an event of two membranes colliding. In essence, time is even a dimension in the mutliverse and thus time will never end.

  • lol @ that lady playing with the stars and her face

  • does anyone else see george washington at 00:46 in upper left

  • @tacoismykitty Looks more like a skull to me.

  • @ZippyLaBallin

    hmmm i see bob dole.

  • @myiuer , yes astronomy cannot be ignored in the conceptual world, as it rules our 'upper selves', through quantummechanics in the' lower parts (relatively) in relation to our existance. Johan age 38, Europe

  • @Joke9972

Just out of pure interest, why did you tell us your name and age?

  • I just saw an ad on this video with some guy going through a box and then slapping his ass in a dude's face after shaking it everywhere. Didn't even catch what it was for...

  • @mrice102888 ...with Superjail graphics.

  • @mrice102888 same here, im hungry.

  • @rivernmillion ROFLMAOWPMGUAPNTGTTHDTOD!!!

  • @mrice102888

    insufferable comment.

  • @epiksonik I aquiesce your comment.

  • Comment removed

  • imagine going back in time and show Alexandra the Great this, then imagine ppl from 2000 years later tell us about our existences. yes i know this aint possible

  • "700 million light years... a thousand galaxies"

  • spacerip - why do your vids just abruptly end?

  • Now, THAT is my kind of camp.

  • cool vid man , cool vid !!! space stuff is awesome. and as far as brittany goes. i think she's hot !! and if i had a spaceship to go and study stars with , and could take brittany with me to see them , i'd be there in a fricken heartbeat !!

  • Like a lot of other words, the word "theory" has multiple meanings, just like bat, bowl, row, etc. In colloquial use, a "theory" is a guess. When used in science, a "theory" explains a set of facts. And in science, a guess is called a "hypothesis."

  • I see "Part 1 of 6"

and maybe I'm an incredible dumbass, but I cannot find part 2/3/etc. :< while I was really enjoying this one!!

Keep up the good work, your channel really has great space documentaries ^^ your channel is the most watched channel (by me) on YouTube! :P

  • Seriously- there are 23 people that dislike this? I guess their intellect only reaches as far as Brittany Spears! What a pity.

  • We are so small and insignificant, makes my dream of world domination much more achievable.

  • Comment removed

  • 21 people here hate science.

  • @MrTriplelogic Rather, 21 people are either religious or in denial that we are so small and insignificant in the big picture of the universe.

  • sometimes the commercials are ok

  • Thank you for sharing this video. About stickman - please consider a tiled floor, outside.

The tiles will erode over time. Cracks will appear in many of the tiles. Some of the tiles will break and create even more cracks, as well as matter. The amount of matter 'trapped' in between the cracks will continue to grow over time, thus exerting even more pressure on an already weakening tile.

The black matter of space is the tile and we live in the cracks.

    Just an idea

  • We evolved into a species that recognize the most consitency in the observed, therefore we see light as a formation of matter as the most valuable of factual noticing. This as much a consequence of our observing as result of our persistent beliefs. Nothing of what I have written in the latter sentences makes sense, because we are as much the victims of our observing.

  • 1:15 to 3:15... holy fuck!

  • @bluebeast2630

That standpoint is retarded. There is a hidden premise, which is that the money we would be using to somehow work on climate change is going to astronomers and cosmologists. Don't take money away from scientists or education. Take money away from lobbyists, warlords, brokers, give it the scientists and educators. And hooray climate change, but hate on someone else.

  • @shakagenghis Worldwide military budget>2 trillion. Worldwide space budget<40 million. Instead of contributing to mankind, we choose to destroy each other ;(

  • @bunny153649

I couldn't have said it better myself, and I tried.

  • @shakagenghis you have no idea what your talking about. you need to do research before you make such uneducated statements like that. and why is it that simpletons like you try to blame everything on lobbyists and brokers and all businessmen, is because thats what mr obama said?

  • @dinosmashify

Dino, when someone says "what your talking about," I stop listening. Contractions exist, learn to use them. My argument makes sense without much research too. I'll simplify it: There is a finite amount of money. Much money is spent on things that make no sense, like war and PACs, much less science/education. Therefore we should spend less money on stupid shit like war, and educate ourselves, and explore the universe. What kind of research should I be doing, let's hear it?

  • @shakagenghis your argument would have made sense if you didnt include "take money away from lobbyists". you see, each year the government will make a budget of spending. they will divide where to send the money into categories like science and education. they dont divide it evenly so this is where lobbying kicks in. the people in these different categories will hire lobbyists to try and bring in more of that money, and believe t or not science and education have lobbyists to. you hobo

  • @bluebeast2630 I totally disagree. By using looking up, there is a lot to learn for us to help us better understand and improve our world. What we should be thinking about is colonizing the Moon and then Mars. By doing this, we will learn how to become self sufficient in order to survive in those harsh environments. The lesson we learn can be applied here on earth. So it is very import to continue interest in space and space exploration in order to save our planet.

  • @nikolayzou "So it is very import to continue interest in space and space exploration in order to save our planet. "

Say wha? save our planet from what?

  • @jonesgerard Save the Earth from the Universe. We are just sitting ducks for whatever may happen, most likely an asteroid hitting us. If we spread out into space, we can increase the chances for the survival of our species.

  • @bluebeast2630 Dumb idea. We should not stop "gazing" upwars to learn new things about our universe. You never know when the things you learn from for example astrophysics will be usefull or not in our daily lives. And instead of trying to cut the budget on a important field withing science, astronomy, you should rather focus on preventing the trillions of dollars beeing spendt on pointless and destructive wars. And stop begging for thumbs up-.- honestly. If people like your comment, they will.

  • @bluebeast2630 i rather leave this rock and venture into space for more resources. imo, life is about expanding, go to new places. life began in water, and moved onto land for more resources.

  • @bluebeast2630 Only 1% of the US budget is spent for spaceflight. Cutting this would not make any sense regarding the benefits - especially in times where humans are more and more treated like working machines and timeless dreams of the human kind continously lose value. Having only the "big" problems in mind could lead to cutting art, music, joy etc. due to their less importance.

Another bad thing is that most people who argue like you don´t even throw a buck into a homeles man´s hat.

  • Well if you were a little more educated you could understand that through trying to understand how this world came to be, we could make a more healthy world.

  • Comment removed

  • @bluebeast2630 my exact thoughts, what use is knowledge of deep space if no-one is around to teach/learn it. we need to prioritise.

  • @bluebeast2630 space/science budget is a little under 4% this year environment is just a little under 3%, can you guess what the military budget is?!?! ....58.24%.

  • imo watch v=7ImvlS8PLIo (a universe from nothing)

  • @bluebeast2630 I completely agree

  • @angelwashere97 you're a complete dumbass. Space IS mankind's hope

  • @bluebeast2630 If you knew what it was like to get away from the city lights and to look through an 8inch telescope you would understand. If you could see with your own eyes what is out there in space, it would change the way you look at everything for the rest of your life. If we (humans) hadn't lost touch with the stars, we wouldn't have forgotten to take care of our Earth.

  • @bluebeast2630 Did you put down your five dollar latte when you typed that drivel? I wonder if you even know that astronomy is a discipline that helps us understand climate change you ignorant fucking knee-jerk moron. It sucks for the rest of us, but the human species as a whole is gonna get what it deserves, and when 500 million is spent on one single movie in one month, and someone suggests giving up astronomy, things are bleak indeed.

  • @GuitarSlinger2112 Well said. If humanity cannot find it's way off this rock at some point, it doesn't matter how peaceful we are, how humane, well fed or moral we are, if we don't find somewhere to go, we're fucked. bottom line. What if scientists are wrong about how long the sun has left? What if it's really way shorter than we thought? Fuck......

  • @2eelShmeal Dude don't get me thinking about that again. The idea of that huge ball of plasma just exploding....and not knowing it even happened for 8 minutes...is...scary lol

  • @jongib369 Hell yeah it is... Oh well it as nice knowing you...lol :O

  • @GuitarSlinger2112 True words! We are going to get what we deserve.

  • @bluebeast2630 LOL you must be joking, amirite? because only a complete and ignorant IDIOT would even state that. According to your nonsense, I suppose King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella should not have funded Christopher Columbus for a voyage to the New World (according to you) Do you even know of the rewards we humans benefit from researching the stars? Think about that before you post another ignorant coment from your Iphone

  • /watch?v=Hvn0gqzh_-4

  • Nine tiny planets huh? Last time I checked... Pluto wasnt listed at a planet any more...

  • ADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDS!

  • I find it interesting how planets we see are always round shaped or spherical. THat make me wonder were they all built by the same something

  • @1982FMJ Yes, its called gravity.

  • @1982FMJ They are sphere's because gravity's force is directed twords to most dense part wish is the center so it doesn't have a choice but to be spherical. No majic man neccessary. It's just how mass influencese gravity

  • Comment removed

  • Im not so sure about the big bang. How do we know the moving galaxies arent just the effect of gravitation in the Universe? Maybe there are spots that just are superduber heavy that galaxies are drawn towards. Maybe there was no big bang.

  • @funnystarchild you have just made another thoery (correct me, plz.) about moving galaxies.

  • @2001shaina Huh? What? Yes galaxies move? What do you know about my theories?

  • @funnystarchild We know there was a bid bang because all the galaxies are speeding away from the same point. If you trace back or reverse the direction of movement they would all converge in a single point. Hence an explosion occured.

  • @ray38montreal or God was at the center and he was creating the galaxyes an sending them into the space..... 0+0= 0 always was and always will be..... sorry....

  • @mariomilcha Arguement from ignorance never works.

  • @ray38montreal sorry fagg but you just dont know.... and since your the one whos ingnorant and not open to any possibility except your won..... your gonna be left out

  • @ray38montreal Its still just a theory. There are other explenations for that movement.

  • @funnystarchild You don't seem to understand what the word theory means. In the scientific sens it does not have the same meaning as everyday use like I have a theory that my keys are in my pocket. In that sens it means "I think that..." In the scientific sens like the theory of gravity, electromagnetism, nuclear or evolution a Theory is more solid than facts. A theory is made up of facts, confirmed observations and repeatably testable conclusions. Dismissing it as just a theory shows ignorance.

  • @ray38montreal I understand. But then its also a clash of languages. In Sweden theory (teori) means an idea that might not be real. But its an idea of how things work. its plossible.

  • YouTube shall hear about this abortion. Another really loud ad at the end. I'll bet the poster has no table manners either.

  • The LOUD fucking ad in the middle of this video should NOT be allowed to go unchallenged. I gave away my TV two tears ago because of just such crap.

  • I remember watching this many years ago. LOL

  • Ugh people stfu with the damn justin beiber comments there NOT funny...just spamming the comment boards with non funny 'sarcastic comments..

  • @UtubeDuDeDuh

    u mad he bad?

  • @UtubeDuDeDuh so bloody true, sooo boring!!!

  • space. it just is.

  • I love that line: "I don't understand the purpose of it all at this point, but at least I began to understand my place in it."

  • I love that line: "I don't understand the purpose of it all at this point, but at least I began to understand my place in it."

  • the stick man pattern looks like inside a brain...think about that..for a sec

  • amusingyeti and zomglolretahoy heres a question for you, you will never solve why time exists nor how we came to be but pussy is here now try getting some fucking losers

  • @420AnimeLove Coming from a loser with a name like 420animelove... You've probably never had pussy in your life, and if you have, it was probably fat, hairy, stinky pussy. Most likely your moms.

  • thumbz up for Knowledge Muthafuckerz

  • @Americant47 I dont think a photon is a suitable example to use to validate your point.

  • great is art life.3million years.

  • 6:38 is the most awesome shot EVER.... its so amazing

  • An advertisement about Jesus books when watching this? I lol'd
