looking to move to n.c. so far asheville and indian trail are on my list but i was told holly spring, apex and cary area are more for people coming from the new york area.
@Jimmy1tooth Well, to be honest, I don't live near the Asheville area but I know there is a beautiful diversity of people. I love that area for the incredible scenery and the very "hippie/artsy" atmosphere. If I were in a position to, I would definitely move into that area. I don't know anything about the schools, unfortunately. I do absolutely love NC! I grew up in Illinois and have lived in various places. NC is my absolute #1 favorite with San Francisco running a close second.
@Jimmy1tooth I will tell you this...personally, the Apex, Cary area I don't know much about except that it's less like country living, which is what I prefer.
Just went to visit asheville from chicago, and I loved it. very friendly people. I went to the top of chimney rock, and there was a man playing a very beautiful instrument. I don't know the name of it, but the music was from heaven. The man was very friendly too.
Asheville is beautiful, sergjul. I am originally from Chicago myself. Quite a difference between Asheville and Chicago...both beautiful in their own way. God bless.
I'm looking for my "soulhome" GroovyGranny, and have never been to Asheville, but it calls to my heart. I hope someday to visit and see if the connection is there. :) Love the video, and you put it to the most perfect music!
I love North Carolina. I moved here in 1996 and don't plan on ever leaving. Some people have soulmates....I consider NC my soulplace (wink). Asheville is great...beautiful scenery, incredible shops of local artistry, great entertainment. Absolutely great place. Good luck to you and God bless.
My father grew up in Roxboro NC . I visited it once ....in 1964 .......its beauty was etched into my memory . You are very lucky to live in NC.............
I am from Georgia, and I'm taking my first trip to Asheville this September, your video has given me something to look forward to. Can't wait! Thanks Groovy Granny!
You're welcome, staceyga1. Asheville is one of my very favorite places in the country. Be prepared to see beautiful scenery, meet interesting people and shop at some awesome little shops. Have fun and God bless.
This is a beautiful audio/visual of those beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains..Asheville is a beautiful city...and John Denver forever with us because of beautiful creations like this...Thanks GroovyGranny!!
Oh, I must strongly disagree, quarl1. I love Asheville. Have been there many times and live not far from there. It's a beautiful place with plenty to do. I like it very much.

It IS beautiful land! I have lived in North Carolina about 12 years now and I absolutely love it. I tell people, "You know how people say we have soulmates? Well, I may not have ever found mine but I found my "soulhome," North Carolina." I love it! Peace!

@GroovyGranny what do people from apex and n.c. think of us from n.y.
Jimmy1tooth 10 months ago
@Jimmy1tooth Well, I can't speak for all people and I don't know many people from Apex but I do know that we should all be welcome anywhere.

Hate to break it to you, but you are in the minority of ALL minorities on this opinion!
Asheville is one of the most interesting and cosmopolitan (not to mention beautiful) places in the entire USA!

Asheville sucks! I've never been to a more miserable and depressing place.
Don't ever go there. And, whatever you do, don't move there!
