  • I really hope the people who disliked this video were instantly castrated.

  • This would've been a nice level in Generations.

  • this would have to be the sound track if this zone was in sonic 1 genesis

  • IIRC, this was used in Sonic the Hedgehog Remix, a ROM hack started by OrdosAlpha.

  • Quality track. One of the first titles I ever owned.

  • @vstman I thought it was going to be rickroll.

  • @nonilima1 I never rickroll anyone. At least that is my attitude not to rickroll anyone, although the thought crossed my mind. :D Thanks for listening anyways.

  • D00DS! Janet Jackson's song, Together Again sounds almost exactly like this. Look it up on YouTube if you don't believe me! :D

  • When I hear this song I of course think of Sonic, but I can sense a small hint of cave story (yes I know this came first).

  • this sounds like tails theme for the sonic adventure dx thumbs up if i'm right

  • @sonia22911 Tails' theme was based upon this tune apparently

  • @strawberrysmile22 maybe?

  • @sonia22911 I've heard rumers that Tails' theme was the same beat as this

  • @strawberrysmile22 thats what my friends say

  • This always was my favorite tune of the game. Always seemed so peaceful.

  • This makes me wish the game gear games were on the genesis....

  • @ZXReploidHunter you can play the master system version its the same (apart from couple levels being slightly different) by getting the megadrive,genesis- master system converter

  • practically 0.9% do not like this and would probably prefer JB .... well fk them!

  • I'm sure I've heard this on 8bc

  • @makoeyez Me too haha, that's how I found out about this song, since I never had Sonic on the Master System, only the Genesis.

  • @thomasbradleyh Master System sonics are my favourites. The music is better and well they're just better

  • @makoeyez I definitely like the music a lot, but I've never actually played them.

  • @thomasbradleyh Get laid.

  • @IdentNone Speaking of which, this song somehow sound like the perfect song to have sex.

  • This is perfect. Where can I find an MP3 of this song?

  • @BlueBlurSplasher13

    I am disappoint.

  • OMG THIS IS EPIC the artwork the tune now i want to play this game all over again

  • Dude, really nice..... such nostalgia and I don't even play the Game Gear much...

  • This must be in Sonic Generations

  • @Hexthemaster Most likely in Generations 3DS.

  • The Bridge Zone i wish was in the Genesis version that would of been awesome

  • wish i could draw this good

  • Download link please

  • Okay, I think I might have figured out where this 16-bit version of "Bridge Zone" may have come from...

The Sega Mark III (Japanese version of the Master System) had an optional Yamaha FM synth sound chip released in 1987 only for Japan. This FM synth chip upgrades the sound quality to 16-bit FM synth, giving it a sound quality close to the Mega Drive / Genesis.

I'm guessing this might be an FM synth upgraded version of the "Bridge Zone" theme from Sonic on the Master System?

  • @Jagged85 Having personally heard what that FM synth chip sounds like, it's nothing close to what this is. It might have the power to do it, but this sounds programmed specifically for the 16-bit FM synth chip, which the add on would not support.

  • hell of a tune.

  • Awesome!

  • FAQ: Question:Why cant i just run past eggman instead of fighting him? Answer:HIS NAME IS ROBOTNICK DAMMIT!!! Question:Ok,so,will you answer my question? Answer:What was your question again? • @dsdface HIS NAME IS ROBOTNIK DAMMIT!!! NOT RobotniCk!

  • @AvassaladoresVEVO kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk'

  • @SpecialOperations brasileiro na área o:

  • @SpecialOperations Sério que é tu é o Vitor?

  • @SpecialOperations haha tu respondeu ao teu proprio comentario! LMAO

haha you directed a comment to yourself! LMAO

  • @TechnoClassic Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand?

  • Dr. Robotnik looks like a walrus given his shirt pattern coupled with his face.

  • @TheAileZX2

If you think about it, he's supposed to look like a walrus.

His Japanese name from the day he was created was Dr Eggman, and the name was derived from a Beatles song. ("I am the Eggman, I am the Walrus".)

  • @danielallen12 Robotnik is actually a walrus. I am never going to be able to unsee this.

  • Im tired of people saying who ripped off who, yes we know this came before Janet Jackson's song, but there are gajillion songs/music out there in this world and certain music will sound similar to one another so please just shut up and enjoy the music.

  • So Dope hearing this 16Bit.

  • It depends on what 16-bit rendering engine you want to go with. If it's the Genesis, I think the synth is too complex for it's sound engine.

  • Sounds like the theme for Full House.

Everywhere you look, everywhere you are

There's a blue hedgehog thwarting a fatass' plans.

  • I WANT THIS IN GENERATIONS!

  • This song was copied in the Janet Jackson song, together again, but they recognized a part of the composing (the bridge) to Koshiro

  • @segadreamer

It was Janet Jackson's "Together Again" (1997) that borrowed the melody of "Bridge Zone" from Yuzo Koshiro's soundtrack to the 8-bit Sonic. In turn, "Together Again" inspired quite a few other songs with a similar melody, including "We're All in This Together" from High School Musical (2006) . It's also worth noting that Sonic Adventure (1999) included a vocal version of "Bridge Zone" as the theme music for Tails.

  • @Jagged85 Yeah, good one, even I listened many times "Believe in myself" I've never noticed that one.

Right answer! 100 Rings to you!

  • This song was copied in the Janet Jackson song, I don't remember now what, but they recognice a part of the composing to Koshiro

  • I suddenly feel... happy! :-)

  • Yup, they took good old bridge zone music and used it for tails.

  • WHY IS THIS SO FAMILIAR?

  • @Delfino224 Tails Theme From Sonic Adventure?

  • Hey NinjaPower64, What ROM did you find this on? Where did you go to get it?

  • THIS SONG IS SO FAMILIAR

  • @jedihunter176 i thought the same and the thing is that the intro of this song sounds like the intro of tails theme in sonic adventure 1 called believe in myself you will notice it right away, go and check it out :)

  • @jedihunter176 Tails' theme from Sonic Adventure

  • @Roblox1111111111111 That's one...unusual username you got there.

  • @jedihunter176 I Know... My Username Is Different

  • @jedihunter176 As do you, Sith Assassin.

  • @GizmoFan1 Hey now, I ain't no Sith. I'm 67.8% Mandalorian! :P

  • Comment removed by Chuck Norris.

  • i drew a pic of this :DD but no clouler but VERY simalar

  • "Song by: Unknown (idk who made the song)"

This song was composed by Yuzo Koshiro, one of the most influential video game music composers of all time.

  • @Jagged85 He's a true badass. Still, I wonder who did this 16-bit version.

  • @Jagged85 All of the Sonic game tunes across the 8 and 16-bit era are insanely catchey. The guys who worked on them were awesome composers.

  • @Jagged85 Yet he ripped this off from Janet Jackson.

  • @MamaLuigiBarrelRoll

Janet Jackson's "Together Again" was released in 1997, a whole 6 years after Yuzo Koshiro's "Bridge Zone" theme from 8-bit Sonic (1991)... Are you seriously telling me Yuzo travelled 6 years into the future? Common sense dictates that it was Janet who ripped-off Yuzo.

Anyway, thanks for proving my point about Yuzo Koshiro being one of the most influential video game music composers of all time... so much so that even mainstream pop musicians took inspiration from him.

  • @Jagged85 Sorry, I suck at release dates. So Janet Jackson ripped off Yuzo Koshio, then? Wow, Yuzo sure was influential.

  • @MamaLuigiBarrelRoll

No worries. I was pretty surprised myself that Janet Jackson's best-selling single was inspired by Sonic of all things. But then again, Michael Jackson worked on the Sonic 3 soundtrack and went uncredited for it. So I think it balances out.

As for Yuzo Koshiro, the only Sonic soundtrack he worked on was the 8-bit Sonic (which inspired quite a few pop songs). It would've been cool to see Yuzo produce some more Sonic music, but he was probably busy with Streets of Rage.

  • By the way, Yuzo Koshiro's influence in pop music doesn't end with Janet Jackson either. Koshiro's soundtracks for the Streets of Rage series, especially Streets of Rage 3, also laid the foundations for the grime and dubstep genres that are hugely popular in the UK today.

  • @Jagged85 That would explain the ripped SoR3 sprites in Nero's video for Me & You, I suppose.

  • @ExuNavarinIdara

Interesting. I just checked out the music video, and it seems like Tron meets Streets of Rage. But yeah, a lot of UK dubstep & grime artists grew up playing the Streets of Rage games, and that's why their music often gives off a 'grimy' sound similar to Yuzo Koshiro's Streets of Rage 3 soundtrack (which was basically random 16-bit hardcore drum & bass on crack).

  • @Jagged85 The only thing is, Michael Jackson didn't want his name on Sonic 3's soundtrack so it's not like Sega fucked him over or anything :P

  • @EnigmaHood

The initial story was that it was Sega who didn't want his name on it because of the controversial scandal (i.e. false 'pedo' allegations) that popped up at the time. But after he was finally proven innocent a few years ago, the story changed to it being MJ that didn't want to be credited because he wasn't happy with the sound quality. I guess we won't know for sure what the real reasons were.

  • @Jagged85 No, the scandal theory was just a guess, it was never the official story. People guessed that was the reason why MJ was not credited. The official story was always that MJ was not happy with the sound quality.

  • @Jagged85 You mean Yuzo Koshiro composed original ver or this 16-bit ver?

  • @Zork1y

Original. Ninjapower64 is referring to the 16-bit arrangement.

  • @kyubihanyou Thanks.

  • @Zork1y

Koshiro composed the original version. This 16-bit version seems to be have been remixed by an anonymous user, possibly using a MIDI file of the song with a Mega Drive/Genesis-style soundfont.

  • @Jagged85 I like Masato Nakomura. I forgot how to spell it.

  • @Jagged85 I think he means he doesn't know who made this FM version. But yeah, Yuzo Koshiro made the original.

  • La lala lá la lala lá lalá lala lálalalalala. Love this song

  • Splash Hill Zone anyone?

  • Sounds like my little pony.

  • This is the best Bridge Zone mix.

  • This song reminds of anime :D

  • love the modern depiction, but the MS and GG version of Sonic sucked compared to the Genesis version. The were no loops and the only actual zone in the game was Green Hill

  • @Gibbagobba and labyrinth zone

  • @Gibbagobba What??? So I guess Labryinth Zone wasnt in the 16 bit either, eh? And Scrap Brain?

Plus, Sonic has slightly better handling on the 8 bit systems.

  • surfin the net while this is playing on another tab...

the most epic thing ever... until it stops

  • Good stuff

  • Where did you get this music? What ROM are you talking about?

  • this sounds JUST LIKE A MEGADRIVE GAME, I SWEAR THIS IS ACTUALLY IN A SONIC GAME ITS THAT GOOD!

  • isnt that the theme song of the tails :D

  • @BlueBlurSplasher13 it is but remixed in SA and SA2

  • @BlueBlurSplasher13 The theme of Miles "Tails" Prower in Sonic Adventure is actually a remix of this song.

  • @BlueBlurSplasher13 I wanna fly high! so I can cheat and beat this super hard zone!

  • @BlueBlurSplasher13 uhmm no this isnt the theme song of tails sa1 version nor sa2 version

  • @BlueBlurSplasher13 Yeah. They remixed this song for Tails's theme.

  • I thumb'd up just because of Robotnik's epic rapefaic. But it's also an amazing cover.

  • so beautiful tune, and so many childhood memories coming back, Sonic in my memories to I die :D damn he was my hero!! :D

  • This was always my favourite soundtrack from the game <3

  • janet jackson? hahha

  • This was a great game music, now I really want to play this game again!!

  • I remember when they played this along side that pop song on the radio. Good times.

  • This sounds just like Tails' theme from Sonic Adventure 1. Has anyone else made this connection?

  • @DizzyLPs Yeah, I was just going to say that o_O

  • @DizzyLPs It's intentional.

Did you notice how Janet Jackson ripped it off with 'Together Again' though?

  • Sounds just like Janet Jackson's "Together Again"....awesome song though.

  • @pauldennis67 The only thing is, this came out way before that song existed. Michael Jackson was involved in the music for Sonic 3, so she probably had access to these tracks and sampled it.

  • @EnigmaHood she?

  • @mrshanegt I'm talking about Janet Jackson, but I probably phrased the last comment poorly. MJ did the music for Sonic 3, because of that Janet Jackson may have had access to these tracks, or the rights to sample them.

  • @EnigmaHood oh

  • its song.......its sound familiar..........

  • ya i give it a 9 out of 10 1 reason why it needs to be longer the music is grate we all love it but longer plz

  • Since Yuzo composed both, someone should mix a "Spin On The Bridge Zone"

  • @Rexco33 Agreed!

  • Tails! Either way I love that level!

  • Sonic 1 for the Game Gear is like as if Sonic took a different route to Labyrinth Zone.

  • Finally I know the name of this wonderful song! =D

I already heard it in several Sonic hacks, but I could never find it on YouTube, until I played the fan game Sonic Rebirth.

    Thank you for uploading! =)

  • FUCCCCK i just got high from this as soon as it started and seeing the sonic art !!!!
