  • I do this, I'm a red belt senior and have been doing it for 4 years ^^

  • omg this is at my school in there old gym lol

  • @k30000 Well you are more than welcome come to one of the classes (all info is on our website - leatherheadckd), or you could talk to me (I'm in the Sixth Form, the guy with the longest hair;P)

  • @k30000 please tell me this is a joke :|

  • pretty shit, the girl is better than the bald guy, but both awful

  • @memuver They r both guys and u dont support ur point at all

  • @4rc1z0 I'll support my point by sparring both and beating them both with complete ease. PM me to arrange. I'm in Southampton. Put up or shut up. we can post the results here. Think carefully, I'm more than happy to see it through. over to you.

  • @memuver Might be studying in Southampton soon

  • @memuver Also being better doesnt prove someone being shit - just worse than you. Again you fail to prove your point - pretty shit discussion skills if you ask me.

  • @4rc1z0 discussion skills were not the point here. seems to me you are diverting the conversation because of a weakness in the testicle department. I don't know if you are one of the people in the vid? The point can't be proven here on youtube, it was/is simply my opinion, an opinion I will stick by here or face to face, are you prepared to do the same? If not, keep quiet.

  • @memuver You didnt say you are better. You said people in vid are shit. Therefore so far you have not supported that at all, and it gives really bad impression about your intelligence, and funnily enough being an idiot can be proven on youtube. I am not going to bother with any further discussion, as beating people up is not possible on youtube, and obviously you have nothing else to say, or at least nothing constructive.

  • @4rc1z0 Here's why you're shit. 1. I have eyes and can see you are shit. 2. When given the opportunity to refute my claim that you are shit, you diverted the conversation away from my challenge by trying to take the intellectual high ground, but fooled no one. You are shit, you know you are shit, the good people of youtube know you are shit and that's why you pussied out when given the opportunity to prove otherwise. The video and your response speak for itself.

  • @memuver Seems Im talking to a wall... Oh well the good people of youtube can surely read better than you and so I am sure they will come to their own conclusion after reading this.

  • @4rc1z0 No, it seems you are talking to someone who could knock you out with ease (and is willing to prove it), it seems I am talking to someone who is missing a pair of testicles. All I hear from your response is clucking sounds. Do you really think you look like anything but a gigantic pussy after this exchange? Put up or shut up. I say you are shit, prove me wrong. Have you ever heard of the expression; Paper Tiger? it sums you up perfectly.

  • @memuver You dont know if you could, you dont consider chances at all which is really stupid for someone who fights. You also must be retarded to think I would travel all the way to Southampton to bother with someone with superego over his head. You sir are an idiot.

  • @4rc1z0 bla bla bla, you're a pussy, a good old fashioned chicken shit. I'd rather take a beating with the knowledge that at least I had a go and wasn't paralysed by fear than to shit myself and hide behind empty words. You must believe just as I do, that you are in fact shit, otherwise you'd be eager to prove otherwise. FACTS: 1 you are shit. 2 you are afraid. 3 everyone reading this knows this to be true because you are very transparent. 4 I'm you're mum's pimp.

  • @fucknutkiller Go troll someone else.

  • @memuver if anyone that trains in choi kwang do thinks that they can actually defend them selves with the methods taught, then you need to wake up immediately. or someone else will force you to wake up in a much more destructive manner. and memuver.... do you have any videos of yourself fighting? i would like to see if you are actually worth a shit. and don't bother challenging me unless you are willing to come to california.

  • @AshleyLoft2010 Why do you consider Choi worse for defence than other arts? There are a few martial arts which do self defence better, but they are mostly modern martial arts such as Krav Maga, which IMO are less popular than traditional ones. Traditional arts tend to be great, but focused on single aspects of combat which makes them less useful. Choi suffers from very non stressful, and non competitive training, but other than than seems to be quite well balanced to me. i welcome your opinion

  • @4rc1z0 most self defense martial arts teach poor techniques for a real combative situation, including krav maga. they don't take into account several factors that can and will happen. because of the fact that so much is left out, the techniques that they do teach only work when fighting some one else using the same techniques.

  • @AshleyLoft2010 also in most self defense, nothing is pressure tested. if you were to pressure test these techniques then you would soon realize that they do not work unless you are in a training environment where you're partner is providing little to no force. and then people would not want to train in that system anymore. that is why most places make you go easy on each other. there are little to no systems that actually fight each other and other people. if you don't have this fighting...

  • @AshleyLoft2010 experience then you will be at a great disadvantage to a thug, who beats the shit out of and kills people for a living. those are the kind of people that you would be training to defend your self against. you should train your self to have an advantage against them. a lot of systems claim that they "fight" on a weekly basis. but they are either just tapping each other, or they are geared up the ass with what ever gear that you can think of.

  • @AshleyLoft2010 if you are not used to actually getting punched then you are most likely going to crumble when it actually happens in the streets. most all of self defense that you see now a days looks really cool and effective. but if you were to take the time to break it down and see it for what it actually is, then you would understand what im talking about. im sorry for anything that i may have said to offend you in previous posts. im used to people posting things and swearing that...

  • @AshleyLoft2010 they are "bad asses" and train in the baddest system ever created. you seem like a cool guy and open the other peoples opinions. and also i don't think that choi kwan do is the worst self defense system. most of them are on the same level.

  • @AshleyLoft2010 Very good points there. Nothing to argue about really, as it is all true. Still unless you have a group of friends willing to get a beating/beat you on regular basis, the best you can do to improve your skill is train a martial art. So with all its imperfections I will stick to them^^

  • @AshleyLoft2010 Your idea is true, but your point point is invalid for several reasons. We, for one, CAN'T get someone who's like who you said, with such a killer instinct. Second, even if our martial art allowed such things to happen, people would get hurt. Permanent damage because of people trying to improve themself! This is why every martial art has its limits. Though it can't be exactly like the real situation, we simulate the actual thing to prepare as best we can.

  • @wtfwhoisthat the fact that you can't get someone to train like what i described is understandable. where i train we also have that problem. i am very lucky to train where i do right now. but as far as people getting injured, i don't agree with you. we train 3 times a week and every day we get hit harder than you would see in any other martial arts system. (and these are our light days) in the 6 or so years that my instructor has been teaching his system nobody has ever gotten injured.

  • @AshleyLoft2010 and everybody in the system excels at an extremely rapid pace. we get elbowed and kicked in the face on a regular basis. we have 18 year old kids fighting experienced 25 year olds that out weight them by 60 pounds or more. and we also have women training with us. also on the killer instinct thing.... everybody has it... it's a natural to our existence. if you punch somebody enough it will come out. it's the want that is hard to come by.

  • @AshleyLoft2010 what type of martial arts do you do or is it just like an mma gym?

  • @AshleyLoft2010 getting attacked in the street is a lot different than being attacked in the dojo, in the dojo you know your opponent aint gonna really hurt you, in the street youre afraid for youre life, so come off your high step with your i practice real martal arts shit, and try and appreciate what other arts are around, i bet you couldnt defend yourself from an 80 year old granny, youve just got a big mouth where its safe, why dont you upload some vids of your reality based art/ tough guy!

  • @AshleyLoft2010 ckd is not a competitive martial art, it teaches you not to hold back but to follow through whenever you attack, there is no sparring, cause sparring is not actual fighting, no one spars with you in the street, if you think an attackers gonna put his gloves on and bounce around, you need a reality check or a good beating, ckd is for defence only, i use to practice ckd when it first came to the uk in 1988, the standard of technique has diminished, but i dont doubt its power,

  • @4rc1z0 and for the record, yes I am possibly just a tiny little bit better than the two unfortunates in this clip. It's staggering that you thought it worthy of posting!

  • The girl or guy with the long hair athe begining of this video needs to tie it back...

    ...they cannot see!

  • @mofotax Guy^^. I could see fine at that time, though by now my hair is so long that I do tie it back.

  • Like all martial arts there are good and bad styles and systems . You pick the style that you like . At the end of the day it boils down to you'r Instructor to bring out the best in the student . High kicks loose power . Jumping kicks lack control . You cant always land on nice flat surface as in a gym . Best form of martial arts is not to put you'r self in arms way , But if you are react quickly to limit the harm to you'r self ?

  • As much as Choi Kwang Do is a self defence system,it's useless against kick boxing and muay thai.I should know, was a 1st degree black belt but so learnt the hard way when trying to use it against other fighting systems.

  • No disrespect.I trained in this system for several years and achieved the rank of 1st degree black belt.As this is not a full contact fighting system, you don't really know what it's like to get hit,you do a lot of drills, hit pads and very "light" contact sparring and defence drills. When I began training in kick boxing and muay thai, all those choi kwang do techniques were absolutley useless,I never stood a chance in sparring sessions,so quit choi kwang do completey.

  • no good

  • that flying kick... i mean what is the point in it? i do mma and if some one were to do that to me it would be dead easy to block and then counter attack :L

  • @madforbass regarding the flying kick, it isn't apart of the syllabus of Choi Kwang Do, but really just for demo reasons. So that wont be used in street defence, nor would the tornado-like kick at the begining of this video. I hope this helps.

  • @madforbass no one gives a shit what martial art you do or how good you think you are at it! this video isnt a proper fight so they can kick the way they fucking well want...

  • What the F*CK was that?

  • @007HomeBoy shouldnt you be busy trying to fix your headset...hmm?

  • I train in Kenect and I currently have a 2nd degree and am an assistant instructor at my gym. These two have poor technique. They drop their hands when they kick (rookie mistake) and their balance is terrible. A swing kick should not look like that and a spinning side kick looks like the instructors' kick. When defending you're supposed to circle, not back up in a straight line. And that takedown wouldn'tr work. The one with the long hair should know better, they are a black belt. Why post this?

  • I am not here to disrespect Choi, as I got my 1st degree in it. I have seen much worse technique than theirs. It all starts in the feet, and if I had to guess, I would say their stance is off. I love Choi and I love getting better. Hope you guys have since this

  • All I will say is the first thing I do when I find out about a new martial art, is to check some videos of different people doing it. Type in Choi Kwang Do and find a good, general presentation of Choi techniques. Are you going to watch a news report on it (somehow I dont find news a good source about a martial arts style)? Or a child teaching you basic white belt techniques (not perfectly as well)? Instead of complaining you should record yourself and post here to promote our martial art.

  • If you're going to just be negative, don't bother posting. A poor attitude for one claiming to be a martial artist. And by the way, this is an old video, neither of them are black belts.

  • @ACOURY111 that red belt they are wearing is black?

  • Comment removed

  • So I see his balance is a little poor and I get attacked?

As for Judo and striking. Judo has strikes (Atemiwaza). I'm not going to debate the merits of any martial art, however, I keep an interest in all disciplines.

Do I like Choi? No. Does it stop me from keeping informed? No, it shouldn't.

  • Balance is poor.

    Keep practicing.

  • I still am (vid's nearly a year old now). Although I can see myself that the balance is lacking at times, I still havent lost it throughout the video (didnt fall, and didnt need to stop just to catch it), so even though it is not top notch I wouldnt say thats the most important thing to be improved in this vid.

  • not sure why your posting on here, you subscribe to an anti-choi channel so your not going to have anything constructive to say anyway.

your anti-choi channel states that you shouldnt be watching anything related to choi so your a bit of a melon.

  • Your comment is poor.

    Keep practicing! ^.~

  • they arent poor balance, just strong kicks

they just arent as fat and heavy as you probably :)

  • kozacko :D

    Nie ma co fikać :D

  • pil sungh bro

  • pil sung

  • Muy bueno. Saludos desde Argentina.

  • Judo for 12 years Jits for 4 years and choi for 8 months now and i love it. Judo and Jits are great martial arts without doubt which you need in MMA, Choi is a great self defence non competitive martial art, which makes classes a joy to attend without egos getting in the way.

  • this is the same guy i seen on friday right, outside the chippy? i was talking to you about this..

  • Comment removed

  • Who are you refering to??

  • oh no one in the vid, the guy who wrote the comment i replied to.

  • yah i take it too

  • You know what, we don't stick comments on your martial art and say nasty things about it - so why do it on ours?

Actually we get taught self defence in our school as well the ordinary ckd. We are taught moves from judo, karate, wing chun kung fu, tae kwon do and many more.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but honestly if its not nice then don't say it at all.

You are just looking for conflict and in martial arts generally that's not good practice.

  • I agree. Well said. :)

  • SAMBO + Muay Thai > all

  • I spent 5 years doin Choi. I now do MMA. Come up a skilled MMA fighter and u realise how useless Choi is in a Ground situation. Problem is defendin the takedown. In CKD u r taught nothing abput how to defend the takedown. Good Vid though

  • Course not. Choi is a striking martial art, and none of them do grappling/ground. I did judo for a few years so it's not like I don't know what I am talking about. On the other hand, using just judo/grappling, you stand no chance in a real fight, as a punch/kick comes first is faster and easier to do compared to a grapple/throw.

  • I agree. Just knowin how to groundfight in a street situation is useless. I've only started doin MMA & the first thing u learn r takedowns. I stopped doin CKD last month. When u done CKD 4 5years and u suddenly learn someting new like takedowns in MMa, u go bloody hell... No way a CKD fighter can defend against it. BTW where do u train in Leatherhead?

  • I was doing judo for like 4 5 years, and when I suddenly moved on to Choi I was like "bloody hell":). It is the edge of Leatherhead and Ashtead, St. Andrew's Secondary school.

  • Judo has a vast amount of strikes. Sadly, though, most of it not taught because too many people focus on the sport aspect.

    Look it up. Atemiwaza.

  • You said it yourself. I guess I was in a competitive club, and so we never did any strikes. Judo is primarily taught for competitions whether anyone likes it or not, and so when it comes to striking you would never mention judo nowadays.

  • good vid, nice powerful kicks guys

  • Pil Suhng from canton ga. nice video,

  • Poli kala, poli orea, file mu :P Jak wszyscy szpanują swoim ingliszem to ja zaszpanuję greką xD

  • this is so stupid...

  • Some constructive critic there. I'm amazed...

  • Ok constructively - it's ok, hands suck music sucks kicks are ok, needs clinching and judo throwing. Happy?

  • Yeh. One thing you have to remember is that it is a SINGLE martial art not a compilation. This means judo throwing stuff is a small fraction of it, because the focus is on striking not throwing. Punches are hard to tell how strong they are from watching an airshield drill, and we do quite a lot of kicks, and kicks are certainly harder than punches. This might contrast quite a bit. I guess it is quite obvious everyone has different tastes of music, and there is no objective view.

  • it's not exactly like music... for instance a sambo guy with exactly the same amount of training will kick your ass/no offence/.

  • I was not comparing music to martial arts, just responding to you saying music is crap. Fight does not only depend on martial arts, and so you cannot say who's gonna win just based on martial art. A lot depends on the set rules/situation/physical condition/experience/reaction time/pain resistance/luck/anatomical knowledge and tons of other factors you do not normally think about. And you were just going to start another debate "x martial art pwns y martial art, so it sucks"...

  • well, that's what it basicly comes down to every time...

  • mate seriously? im not practicing any martial arts as such but i think this video is pretty impressive, where are you basing this theory of

"a sambo guy with exactly the same amount of training will kick your ass/no offence/."

no offence to you but ive heard of choi, dont know what sambo is... if thats you in that video on your youtube page then by physical constitution, i reckon these guys would "kick your ass".

  • " im not practicing any martial arts" it's ok, neither are they... "im not practicing any martial arts" that's why you think it's impressive...

Also I'm way above their weight class and way better on the ground AND standing... Sambo pwns.

  • "dont know what sambo is." That is why you fail (in yoda voice), sry I couldn't help my self. lol

  • Just a bit of fun, calm yourself!

  • oi Michal you're too good..i like the fliying kick.. ..siema :P..

  • nice one, great clip mate!
