They're so talented that they write a song this cool, make it sound this good, but not only doesn't it ever reach their standard to be on an album, it doesn't EVEN reach their standard to record it!
Meanwhile, 90% of bands- if they dreamt up a song this badass- would make it their lead single.
Radiohead are just on a whole other level. The fact they don't even release material this good makes me question MYSELF when I dislike something they DO release.
@Shadow9392: Here's to hoping that possibly maybe, it's on part two! It doesn't really fit in with the album right now, but hell, look at what they did with Lotus Flower. They can MAKE it fit in.
I hope next time i see radiohead in concert they play this song LIVE since they wont put it on an album. I don't see what is wrong with it Thom Yorke it's fine the way it is! =)
lol you i being a fan since 19193 and i didnt know anything about the base ment concert until a month ago lol i caught by mistake i feel really shame full about it.i had no idea it was on vh1 for free the whole world saw except me.maybe i spend way too much time with my girl.i need sometime alone.
I have loved this song for a long time like at least the very least 10 years but i never knew it was pre OK Computer retrospectively i shudve ARGH...... and I call myself a fan -head hung
Awesome. Never seen/heard this version before (and I have heard the song before!). Definitely on my wishlist for next album, along with True Love Waits (although we've already heard they won't record that, apart from the live version). Wish there was a better quality version of the video, though...
As a self-acclaimed Radiohead fan for 4 years, this is the first time I figured out the existence of this song. What a shame. I have been to their live and know all their B-sides whatever, but just missed out this touching song. But it still moved me as all the other songs did.
Radiohead, there are still a lot from you guys which I could keep exploring. Thanks to your genius productions.
@Antiks72 They pretty much made it work how i wanted! You're so right; such a shame. I haven't given up hope it'll appear one day. Also i met Colin in Virgin megastore in Oxford once and he was super-lovely x
whatever they're next album is, they should throw this in it!!!!!!! i like this version, but the version on meeting people is easy was pretty kick ass as well!
best performance of this tune was in toronto in 95/96, different lyrics and the music much firmer, I downloaded it years ago, have it on one of my three minidiscs of live and unreleased Radiohead stuff. I will try to post it, it would just be audio though.
wow I actually like this version more than the recent versions they have played (salamanca '02). It would be really interesting to see what they would do with it in the studio.
Was reckoner what was "feeling pulled apart by horses"? Thom and Ed said in a Steve Lamacq interview the reckoner off In Rainbows was written as a new coda for the old, "thrashy" reckoner they played at Gorge. 'horses was around Kid A sessions right?
This was meant to be featured on the old Avengers soundtrack, but in the end Radiohead thought it was too incomplete a song...
The song wouldn't really fit in with Radioheads current sound, so there's not much chan ce on it resurfacing on a new ablum. But it would be cool if Radiohead could record the song properly, and then donate it for a film soundtrack or something....
If there was another warchild album or something perhaps? I agree it would be hard to see it fitting in with new RH, but then I'd say IR was a big progression from HTTT, itself from Amnesiac so you never know.
Why was this dropped from the soundtrack? I know they had problems recording it, did they just pull out? They did a couple of songs for other soundtracks around the same time - namely Romeo + Juliet.
I don't think this song will ever be released on any of their new records coz it is too old-fashioned, taking into account their new style. They tried to include it into OKC but failed and now it is too late. So it will always be no more than lost treasure. Such a shame
Nude has been around for about the same length of time, and they managed to release it. Hopefully they'll find something that works with this song as well.
Favorite version by the way. I liked but thought they tried to do too much with the version on MPIE.
I didn't think they ever played this song live because it was so quickly abandoned after conception. It's great to hear it from end to end without any edits from the "Meeting People Is Easy" recording.
Once again a Radiohead b-side that blows most bands best material out of the water.
they tried to get it onto the bends, and played it a few times around then. They tried it out again in 2002, probably tried to get it onto HTTT, but it didn't work again.
Damn I thought I had everything from Radiohead, but this... very good song I was looking for this because I heard it on the dvd ´meeting people is easy´ but this live version is amazing, I can´t stop listning... I want Big boots!!!

Yes i know but it's not the point.
The thing is that Nude corresponds their today's style perfectly well and Big boots does not.
And even if it will ever be released(though i doubt it) it would be something completely different to the thing we know as Big Boots
