  • There is no disease in ADHD, so there is no "treatment". However, as society's social engineers, the mainstay of the mental health profession, informed as it presently is by the reductive take of any number of biopsychiatric models, it makes perfect "therapeutic" sense to alter the individual so as to alter the individual; at the cost of millions of children's lives and billions of dollars in profit and state funds!

  • That should read: alter the individual and you alter the social. This is the present paradigmatic approach of institutional psychiatry, both for inpatient and outpatient programs, regardless whether such treatment is volutary-contractual, or involutary-coercive. For the child, there is never consent. However, given the prestige of medicine and of the physician (mental health professional), it is not difficult to obtain consent from well-meaning parents; even arm twisting as inducement.

  • I may have adhd (am getting tested now), I hope I don't :-(
