  • So beautiful.

  • are other clothes that expensive in japan?

  • Nice....Arigatou

  • wow makes the one I got at a animatin con cheap I paid lik 65 dollors for it and it came with the belt and eveything..

  • veeery expensive clothes huh ?! : /

I wonder if I am able to buy me one too....if I travel to japan one day xDxDxD

  • Are all kimono very expensive?

  • @xoxellevexox I imagine they're so expensive because theyre 100% silk. I bought a really nice one online that didnt cost me anywhere near as much as those

  • On your other vids I saw that clothes in Japan are really expensive. How come it is like that? Isn't there a deflation? Normally everything should be cheaper. =/

Keep more vids coming, I'm already an addict. ^_^

  • 3k? woooah. are they always that expensive?

  • Do japanese people think gaijins look like retards in japanese colthing, eg. kimono? Or does it depend on something?

I'm worried because I'm travelling to Japan next winter and I don't want to come off as ridiculous if I dress up in something similar for new years..?

  • @99Crystals

If everyone you are with wears them at new year it would be OK for you to also..

    if they don't - don't.

It is the group thing ^_^

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom

So.. If I go to Japan on vacation and wanted to rent a kimono to wear for the day, with my grandparents wearing them as well, would we be thought badly of?

I don't mind getting stared at or anything, I just don't want to be offensive. :)

  • @99Crystals Quite the opposite. I went to the Kyoto textile centre where you can pay £10 to have a kimono propaly fittedand loaned for a couple hours. Iwent on the fasion stage so my boyfriend could take a video of me, and the japanese there thought it was a real fasion show and were fascinated that a gaijin girl was in kimono! They all got out the cameras and camcorders! It was hilarious. I was only meant to go up for five minutes. I was up there for ages. It was so sweet!

  • @99Crystals Only those on your country will look at you like a retarded,

  • Such a short video! ='( I think I could spend a year in that store! ♥ I wish I had the cash to spend on a REAL kimono. My life would be complete! ^_^

  • What is the fur collar called?

  • @chistiananimefan Obi, is it not?

  • how much are they? i want one they're so amazing!

  • Key moe no :3 But they are very pretty, I want to own one someday..

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, those are gorgeous :) could lose the fluffy stuff around the collar though.

but good ones are worth over $10,000...

  • wow.. beautiful..

    i would totally buy one..

they just leave me breath less..

    Japan rocks

  • are kimonos still hand made cus they used to take a very long time to make. have you seen a real geisha yet?I have seen some geisha vids but ppl said they were just tourists dressed up and pretending :(

my mum is 55 and has a childs kimono she was given when she was about 5 when a uncle went to japan its beautiful!!

Hope you make a video of women wearing KIMONO

    Thanks for the videos

  • Expensive but quite beatifull on a chick..

    :D

  • 15000 thousand dollars! holy mother god. The most I've spent on a single piece of clothing was 200 quids and that'll probably last me for next 5-10 years to come.

  • 100yen=1$

  • Thank you so much for the visit. I hope that you return to another Kimono Shop and spend more time there. Perhaps exploring the differing varieties of Kimono...(Furisode) etc. Again, thank you.

  • @ElegantPaws01

    maybe :-)

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom If you do go to another kimono shop, could you show some designs intended for men please. They look like works of art.

  • @dalriada842

Men's designs tend to be much simpler.

You can see some on the "wedding in Japan" play list.

  • 15.000$, is the kimono made of gold? LOL, must be one really special...

  • Syobon3: "15.000$..."

Assuming you meant $15,000; kimono are supposed to be made of silk, and totally hand made. People of means who want a truly traditional kimono are probably paying between that and $5000.

  • i do believe other countries use a dot instead of a comma to separate large numbers...america is so weird huh?

  • Countries are completely different from other ones, makes for a totally strange world, oui?

  • @AkemiCaffeine

Never seen any that cheap :-)

  • Kimono = clothes

  • man i want a hakama. so badwith the wooden glogs and straw hat sweet vid

  • Correct me if I am wrong, vpuncher, but I think you meant geta not glogs.

  • amazing!!!!!!

  • I'm willing to spend $3000 Dollars for a Kimono just to see my Girlfriend in it! n\\\n

  • So is the fur trim a modern addition, or did they actually have kimonos with fur trim in traditional Japanese attire?

  • @PinkGrapefruit22 "So is the fur trim..

    Yes, it is.

They used to wear a coat called Haori over the kimono instead.

  • Looks pretty.

  • I know a guy that has a hakama. they are very nice to. hmm i wonder if i can get my gf into a kimono :D

  • Great quick peek at such an interesting store! -Kurt :-)

  • Nice vid.

1)Are there any kimonos for men?

2)Why in the world are they so expensive?

  • @hungimahar

    Guys wear hakama.

The material and labor to make them is expensive.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom

Just a short input for anyone who's intrested. Hakama is also worn by women, especially when they graduate from university.

  • Nice Japan Vids, I've heard lots of handy tips and helpful advice. Everything I've heard so far matches up with what my Japanese 3 instructor has said about their culture. You know your stuff, thanks for the advice, it's good to know theres someone out there with reliable tips. Thanks, and keep em coming!

  • @darkmatter2007

  • @totaldramaqueen108

    Some do, some don't.

  • Wow. Thats really up there. Why are they so expecnive? Guessing its a high quality material but is it hand made or something??

  • (((BEAUTIFUL))) worth the money

    Kee Moe no??

Have i been saying it wrong all this time?

  • Its kee mo no.

  • wow so expesive. are they silk of gold. i wonder why a kimono cost more than 3000 dollar armor from the ebudo store in japan. wild.

  • hmm, are Kimonos for women only or are there kimonos for men as well? =)

  • $15,000 omg.. is that a one for life? but still a lot of money :(

  • @Yoshoku

    Yeah.. they usually keep them..

but not uncommon for them to buy a few in their lifetimes and throw the old ones away :-)

  • ...Gotta be silk.. with golden thread.. :)

  • Ohhhhh.. beautiful..

Always wanted one, ever since i was 8 or 9 x3 But i dont think they make kimonos for 170 cm long ppl -__- Merry Christmas btw! ^_^
