  • Good tips, but what about timing?

  • how do you get that little window to come up for level scaling

  • Just A Little Bit As 50 Might Say Lol

  • Why is it that nobody seems to realize that live drums and sequenced drums are, you know, not the same instrument? Most of the versus arguments about this are obnoxiously shortsighted.

  • awesome, thank you

  • i gotta question ok i know how to put the snare into 32nd notes but my question how do i drag them over to make the blocks small like i watched 1 of ya tutorials n im a lil confused lol

  • Tribal lust was the result of this tutorial

  • Nice sounding kick

  • Also, forgot to say, great video, very helpful!

  • @nfxbeats so does valosity mean how loud it is cuz i v been wondering how to change the sound of individula instraments for ages

  • Warbeats tutorials are AMAZINGLY informative!

That being said, he's drags them on for SO LONG. Honestly, the tutorials could be less than half the length they are due to how slow things develop

  • pretty neat

  • Nice Tutorial! Thx man

  • Nice Tutorial. Maybe you have an tutorial to humanize your piano or an other instrument?

  • hi, hey dude a little question..., how did you put the ghost channels that shown in other piano roll? thnks for the help!

  • hey bro, which midi keyboard do you use? could you please tell me,, i'm about to buy one

  • thanks man. I find these tutorials really great.

  • When you're using some of these other functions, you should note how to access those functions because I don't know how to get to that level scaling thing you just did. Other than that I love your tutorials man, please keep makin em!!

  • /watch?v=8aDOuAOYRWI

  • he sounds like a old guy ^^

  • how u turn on ghost channels ?

  • this helped a lot

  • I have watched a number of your videos man, great work. You are very informative and seem very patient. You brought to light things I really didn't know and made reference to a lot of things I did know but wasn't totally sure on. Thanks a lot I and I am sure a lot of others appreciate it. Even after 8 years of making music I still am a bit away from where I would like to see myself in the production world.

  • At 06:50 did he say "The next thing I wanna show you is ghost nuts"??? lol

  • @vildbasse97 no.. no he didn't

  • Thank you.

  • no pues compa!

explicas mucho y avanzas poco, pero igual me sirvió, chido por el tuto!

  • Excellent information; to know even this tidbit on velocity, and this push/pull concept, very valualble to know! Also, how the different pieces of music intertwine each other in the spaces like that....I am enlightened! You are by far, "The," fl studio guru...!

  • 1:09 - 1:29

    best advice ever

  • Thanks for sharing these tips ! It has been really useful to me.

  • @djnikonytube Beats per minute. (how fast the song is paced)

  • Tips recording drums, just make em really loud and save the comp as 32 bit float, that way all you gotta do is re record the comp so the drums can be clipped down, that way you get clean snares with lack of distortion, have fun!

  • @djnikonytube 132.459

  • how do make a ghost channel come up

  • you know you could run your vocals through a noise profile to rub out that fan and the reverb in your vocals

  • is there a way to make the drums stick out more i find in my songs that the drums get buried and all you can hear mainly is the snare

  • very helpful ty so much

  • dude i can BARELY hear your voice.....

  • @ComedySoldiers

    Put the volume up.

  • @GmanNova its full blast but.....w/e thats irrelevant i got it

  • 15:38 min ?

  • 5 stars, Yes i did i learnt a lot, thanks a lot for a gr8 vid, if i need help in fl could i email you some flp files?

  • @MrVizionary2012 whats ur emails? iev been working on alot of stuff. not complete but rlly nice leads

  • Thanks man you helped me alot! check the outcome on my channel! i made some good dirty south and hip hop beats,

  • how did you get the kick pattern to show up on ghost on the snare patter?

  • Alt+V

  • computer killed the drummer :(

  • @zinck8 so car killed the walker???

  • @DViAan Thats not an accurate analogy. Saying video killed the radio star, and computer killed the drummer applies because once we've acquired the technology for video, or digital drums, one would logically never return to the previous item. Car killing the walker is illogical as there will always be a need for walking.

  • @medicwine holy cow, comment from a year ago. i think you noticed the "???" i see how you specified "walking" as moving one place to another, but i used it in a general sense. "Computer killed the drummer" refers to people would rather use computer to program drum sequence than to physically play the drum. My respond "car killed the walker" refers to people would rather use a car to move from A to B than to physically move. But I see your point.

  • @DViAan tight

  • lol just a lil bit as 50 might say. p.s how do you show ghost channels?

  • Great tut ! , a few questions :

    - How to turn on that ghost chanell ?

    -Is this FLS 8 ?

  • go to the thing that says file, edit, tools look down and look for "helpers" then go down and there should be ghost channels

  • Ghost channells are alt+v

  • @Bru2712 thanks man

  • I think the info in this video is worth knowing beyond the quantize feature. Those quiet snares really make a difference and are best done manually.

  • Humanizing hi-hats is pretty important when hats are playing alone, like in intro or such.

I noticed this in one song intro that hi-hats have been humanized pretty good, you could think that it is recorded with drum set:

    watch?v=B_f2XG5ebZc

Though it can be heard better in real version, but not just the velocity but also tweaked some other ways.

(because human cannot never hit same power even if they aren't doubled)

  • Very Good! I've been struggling with drum emulation for some time.. it might give me the edge I needed.

  • Hopefully everyone here realizes now too - You can use the FPC tool to arrange an entire drum beat in one pattern. The cool thing about this, after you lay the entire beat down in a Piano Roll window - You can select everything at once and quantize the entire piece... that way snares, hi hats, kicks, cymbals fills etc will become "Grooved". :D

  • haha "Just a little bit.......as 50 might say"

    hahahaha xD good one

  • thanks for the video =) very helpfull

  • good job keep up the work

  • yer bruv hit hats innit

  • is there any way of adding shuffle (timing) to give the beat movement and a real groove, as in drum machine swing from the MPC etc, like in Reason there is a groove machine called regroove and the the drum sampler has built in 'shuffle'

  • djscratch22 - Just use the FPC generator that came with FL STudio. Right click > Piano Roll and all your samples are available in the Piano Roll. Lay out the tracks and just select everything and apply a Quantization groove to it.

  • nice, thanks mate

  • Np fella send me a msg if you get stuck or have questions.

  • i like your Tutorial but u tlk 2 much

  • I always learn good new stuff for my knoledge thanks...damn that kick drum is awsome!

  • this software is too difficult but soo powerful!

  • i was wondering if you can show how to do the same drum type of loop that sublime did on summertime that would be great help this one sounds similar but i just havent been able to figure it out yet thanx keep up the good work

  • BRAVO! Good vid, learned much!

  • how do i toggle the velocity column on?

  • There should be some sort of function that randomizes the position of the notes without changing the melody like chop/quantize.

  • Couldnt you have just turned up the"feed dial" in the channel settings for the hat? Kinda like what you did in your old tutorial about how to make a ragetone beat. You turned up the feed dial in channel settings and got the same effect?

  • I haven't watched this tutorial but I am going to assume this is about offsetting velocities of certain notes/hits and, offsetting the timing on certain notes/hits. I play drums, and I realize that you don't hit everything perfectly on time, and with the exact amount of power.

I love your tutorials though, very much..

  • how do you bring up that level scaling?

  • 11:34 "go to town with this thing" hahahahah i love this dudes phrases XDDD.. NFX ur tuts are AMAZING.. but there sssssoooooooooooo ddddddddddddaaaaaaammmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnn llllllloooooooonnnnnnnngggggggg D:

  • this is an awesome technique

  • This may sound stupid but how do you get the grid colored by key like one dark Grey and the other is light Grey. it makes sense to have it like that.

  • simple thing,but nice tutorial.

  • genius i never woulda thought of this

  • great tutorial , like always! you rock , man :)

(ghost notes are to be made with Alt+V i think?)

  • i prefer the first bassline O.o

  • how can i make the ghost notes like yours??

  • very good tutorial, helped me alot to make my beats sound alot better

  • Like it! good job.

I just thought this was about to be about the limitation about arms and legs, but this definately taught me more.

  • Thanks a lot, very useful, I appreciate

  • witch synth do you use?

  • LOL?

  • how do you turn on the ghost channel on the piano role???

  • it's an option right in the left corner when you have the piano roll thing open, and it's under the category helper

  • ok, thanx

  • Comment removed

  • OMG I CAN'T SHRINK MY PLAYLIST PLEASE HELP!!! It was smaller before it's pissing me off now

  • top left hand of the box, click and drag up and down to make bigger or smaller.

  • whoah where did u get those drum sounds at the beginnig? OH, and thanks for telling me about the velocity.

  • how do u bring up ghost channels

  • you go in piano roll in top left click on a littl arrow called piano roll options then you go in helpers and click on ghost channels

  • how do i get that ''ghost channel thing view''?

  • UR the shit man...ive learned a whole lot from u and u improved my beat making to another level...thank you

  • can you download this program for FREE?!

  • yes

  • weere

  • gr8 thx : ]

  • this is amazing i've learned so much from this

  • It's so much less time consuming just to clone your hi-hat/kick/snare and fill them in then change the volume than adjust the velocity individually. Also, you get a much better sound by layering different drums.

  • Does any one know how to turn on this ghost channel thing?...

  • first of all, the notes that u want to be shown have to be shown as in a piano roll on the step seqencer, not just as steps, then when ur in the piano roll of the instrument ur working on, CTRL + V.

    hope that helps..

  • Thanx u roxorz

  • in fl studio 8 its alt + X though lol.

  • you are a G more people should commend you drum work is what i find the hardest and this is purely helpful

  • Great info here :) I for one have taken to playing my drums on the keyboard and cleaning them up a little as opposed to just using a grid and mouse. Made a HUGE improvement.

  • respect

  • Bro, you've just taught me something I should be doing since a loooooong time.

    Thank you so much!

  • anyone interested in the latest vsti, samples ect and more...look at my profile for more details.

  • xzibit should've said, 'jus a lil bit' on Pimp My Ride! LOL

actually da original pattern sounds better than da hybrid, but when da two combine powers in a hiphop/funk trak, it works

ghoset notes simply generate echos, but altering velocities makes it less "lazy producer"

this is neccessary for upcoming amateurs ;)

  • great teaching perfect speed great detail much respect!

  • Great tutorial nfxbeats. I'm glad you put a lot of effort and details into your videos.

  • "jus a lil bit", as 50 might say...i dunno why i found that funny haha!

  • its standard stuff but you dont want too much of that hunizing in other genres like DnB for instance unless for a refill or one or two hits every pattern,

its only really for music you expect to be played by a drummer!

and speak faster if at all, i am very impatient and im guessing i speak for most youtubers there

  • didnt say how to turn on the ghost channels

  • great job nfx, excellent way of explaining things

  • PLEAAAAAASE its great but STOP TALKINGGGGG

    15.38min is TOOOO MUCH

you can do it in 5min

    ttttthhxxxxxxxx

  • dont watch then. the longer it is the more knowledge he puts into it...

  • all these tutorials are helping me alot, thanks for your vids. maybe u might want to check out my fl studios songs, please comment

  • i think its great he goes into detail and goes slow. There's so much information he gives.

  • this is great, but this guy really goes slow

  • Very nice tutorial, thanks!

  • Excelente tutorial, thank you very much. Keep posting great tutorials like that, please.

  • Thank You!!!more please!!!

  • nfx ive been looking for a lfo fx vst to use in the chanels, because when i use a vst the sampler isnt part of it so there is no lfo as theres no sampler, just wondering do u know a way around it ???

  • GREAT TUTORIAL! GREAT JOB!!!! 5 STARS FOR YOU!!!

    very useful

  • Very nice tutorial. Although, you could revise this to a one minute video.

  • nice. check mine out and please comment

  • Not the greatest place to ask, but...

Say you sample a kick drum with edison, you put the thing in a sampler channel, all that, is there any way you can use that sample and use the Fruit kick thing to adjust punch and distortion and all that?

  • Hey johndavis! Go FUCK yourself. Don't like it fuck off, this guy is the fucking man!

  • Well yeah, that's the point of a tutorial. Would you rather he not say anything and leave you to figure it out for yourself? Because if that's the case, there are plenty videos on youtube of music producers recording themselves making beats.

  • you think a lot like me anyways how long have you been using FL studio for?? you must have really gone through the manual or maybe you just like messing around with stuff until you find something interesting about it just like me lol =D

  • Aiight sry for Mark as spam.. my bad..

First: My Englisch language is bad, i don't know some words..

Dude ur Beats are awesome, and your tutorials too.. But.. please can u say, how you open these lil "editors" like Strumizer, Level Scaling, Ghost Notes.. ure saying.. Oh im using Ghost Notes.. BÄÄÄM* and they are in

  • your piano roll.. and u didnt say how u open it and im thinkin.. what the fuck is going on ?.. im hanging at this points.. plz reply me or im me.. hMm.. how can i say this, i try to explain^^.. This is not meaning Angry, but its "hopfullyier" (more hopefull) for me..

youre great :D thx for all tutorial

  • hey how did u get those ghost note to show while working with the snare...??

  • i honestly like the first beat more then the second one but thanks for the help =D great to learn

  • how can u not hear the difference between de 2 kicks lol sik vid cheers

  • thank you for this again, you are great

  • how do you turn the ghost channels on

  • You can do that with Alt-V (or in piano roll view / topleft piano roll icon / helpers / bottom option "ghost channels".

    Cheers!

  • been watchin your vids for about 1 year now, never left a comment. but i have a question. well first of all for some background information i sample off records and sequence them on fl studios. Now the question is how would you make a bass loop to go with some breaks of some melodies off a record. Some of my samples don't have any drums or bass' on them. now drums are easy to lace but bass is a bit harder. i have some single bass tones just to let you know.

thanks for your help and time
