In India we use yesteryears yellow pages / white pages and each day we rip one page from each side. In around a year provided you practice daily you have what I call smooth sailing. Namaste

Is it not painful for your toes to land on the mat like that? When my yoga instructor tells us to jump to the front of the mat or back, I can't seem to do it without it looking very awkward and painful. I always have to take the "walk of shame" up to the top of my mat... You seem to be able to do it with much grace! *Is dazzled* Ah well! I'll be able to do it someday! :D
Thanks for your videos, as always, Sadie! I've learned a lot!
The lolasana described here looks like what I have seen referred to as tolasana elsewhere. I've been putting together a jump back workshop for a bit and am having trouble finding consistency in the names of these poses. Oh well.
Great vid, the progression I put together is very similar.
Yayyy something I can do. lol. Must be because I have long arms. I can jump back easily from sitting, but when standing I can't jump my legs up high like that. I havn't got that balance.
sadie, your explanations and advices are really touching me. jumping back vinyasa from each ground pose is really a challenge for me (as for most of people it seems) in my ashtanga yoga daily practicing and i struggle with it every day, your advices are cheering me up and show me what i need to work on and what i'm doing wrong, very helpful, thank you,
Really great instruction. I have very strong abs, but quite short arms. Working with blocks has made it easier to create more fluid movement. I may not ever be as graceful as you, but who cares! The journey and play is all the fun! Namaste.
You clearly have nice long arms, there are a lot of people who have relatively short arms and/or long trunks.
it's not all about shortening the mid section and so those who are not anatomically suited to this even risk spinal disc damage by trying too hard. to get the extra lift.
From Lolasana, it's the same movements as you see here--just like with the blocks, press down through your hands, curl up into your navel, and send your heart forward as you jump back. It takes a lot of power and practice, and I'm still working on it. Almost there!:) good luck!! Sadie
