Dude that's a gorgeous snake... I kept my BRB in the barracks at Lejeune before IUgot out haha, good thing she isn't as big as yours or field day would have sucked... anyways, that's a sick snake bro. S/F
very cool. I have one he's about five months right now. i will continue to feed him live as well, he's not quick to eat, so i definitely am not quick to feed him frozen mice. i agree you just need to keep an eye on it. but do you worry about him getting aggressive in his cage while feeding? i always move Ryker
What a beautiful snake! I'd like to see more strike shots, maybe some slo-mo, if you can. I don't know why watching animals in action (be they beavers building a dam or falcons circling above or thousands of fish each making the exact same move in a school -- or a snake making a razor-exact strike can take me from the blues to a joy of being alive, but it does.
at this time he was a very picky eater for some reason and this is all he ate ...he now eats jumbo dead rats ....i mean its almost the same just that i kill em lol
@keithmfewell are you kiding?!?!?!?! PETCO!?!?!?! those guys are all fucking retards! they know jack shit about snakes as it is. i was there to get crickets and their ball pythons all had mites and their red tails were dehydrated. the manager didn't even care. asking petco about snakes is like asking me about brain surgery.
i think its wierd, i don't have names for any of my snakes, its just the orange corn snake, albino corn snake, the rat snake, the kingsnake, and the ball pythons, maybe i'll think of names for them, i'm just terrible at it so i don't.
I used to student-intern at a reptile park. I'm a huge rodent lover ^^ (of all the people, huh?) I always stunned the prey, since our snakes were for handling, we wanted to see if stunned prey reduced aggressive behaviour.
In some it did, in some it didn't. Breeding had a lot to do with it. To each his own, but I can't stand watching life-feedings ;p
i went back to feeding him large rats the mice werent filling him up and i also did go back to a feeding container as well. he is eating a lot now and getting a lot stronger
these really are amazing snakes, mines just a bit smaller thatn that, btw there are many reasons why its better to feed in a feeding container, when u feed in the tank the snake thinks ur prey when u go in for handleing, with some subtsrates its harmful to ingest:) hope this helps, uve got cool vids
i guess your not worried about it getting bit while u r feeding but hey to each his own i have a male/female pair just about 1 year old how old is yours?
well to tell you the truth i do worry but i watch it closely it hasnt happened yet so i continue to feed it live prey...he is about 3 years old or so.

Looks like you're feeding rather small prey. Small rats?
Definitely consider F/T it may not be as "cool" but it's safer.

Beautiful snake, terrible song.
Also, I'd be so afraid to feed my BRB live. I couldn't bare to see my gorgeous snake ever get a scar from a rodent bite...
Shaddiewolf 2 years ago
you can feed your snake live food as long as you are not a terrible snake owner...
