This idea is amazing! The idea of actually playing 'together' instead of trying to outshred each other! You would make a great teacher! And nice one I did blue bossa for uni
That chick is Alex's student or something. I saw her play some Alex's songs on youtube and she's really good. My point is does Alex teach? I really wanna learn from a master like him
Much like a certain famous unfinished symphony I can hear where that was going after the fade out. It goes on and on, and I can't get it to settle happily on the root note :(
Sir, please, do not use fade out again in your videos =\ I almost died with that ultra jazzy sound you did in 1:06~1:10. I REALLY wanted to see how it ended :(
What I like about Jess, is not only that she has an amazing talent...but, most of all..it isn't going to her head! Humility is refreshing in this day and age of pumped up divas !! Onwards and upwards Jess.. Good stuff !!
I like turtles because they're so chill. They don't hurt anyone. They're just like, "Hey man, I want to swim, and maybe eat some lettuce. But I'm gonna take my time getting there, I'm not in a rush. Because I'm a turtle."
Maybe her eyes are just saying "I sure as hell don't wanna mess up something so comparatively simple while he makes a salad of delicious phrases and feelings with a heaping helping of shred dressing"
this is fantastic Jess and so good that you got to play with Alex ! We are all very proud of you at Royal Manor and in particular everyone in the LSC. Keep up the great work!
alex has got a great sense of melody and phrasing, added with that speed of his its a recipe for doom! GO ALEX GO JESS! btw jess shreds orianthi up like a rag doll any day!!!
Man what a talented girl and Alex as always laying the tasty licks. Is funny when she messes up at the end she realizes and looks at the camera guy like "Hope no one notices" lol.
@GavinClementMelanson: of whom exactly? And, no... watch some of the world's best players (Jeff Beck or Knopfler, for instance) and they're not throwing their heads around like some demented chimp during the technically easier passages then staring intently at the fretboard during the more complex ones. You see so many musicians doing that and it can be construed as "feel". The head movements and the eye closing actions are blatantly as much rehearsed as much as the notes.
@GavinClementMelanson: and to be quite frank, it means nothing when you "jam" in a bedroom, wanking over Jpop chord sequences from 1986 (and the synth sounds from a year earlier) with a horrendous amount of chorus and delay on your Zoom multi-fx. What's the point? Get out there and play with some real musicians if they'll let you... otherwise you're doomed to play at guitar roadshows to men with beards asking you about the handwound pickups on your custom Ibanez: snoooooooze!
@marmotman lol I've been a guitarist since the age of 4 and i can honestly say I'm nothing like you've just assumed. I play blues so your Jpop chords from 1986 don't amuse me. I play things that use all 7 chord families. The video's on my channel are last minute, i don't plan em over...they're just for fun. And i have a Peavy HP special guitar, not the ''Custom Ibanez'' you assumed my low-end LTD guitar to be. And i've played pretty big shows for my age. I've also played with amazing musicians.
@GavinClementMelanson Pretty big shows with amazing musicians, eh? Shame none of that's on YouTube... Look, I wasn't prepared to get into a slagging match but for you to point out "jealousy" simply because of a difference of opinions (you fancy this player, I think he's technically adept but dull) goes to show the immaturity level that you're still at. Its also incredibly apparent in your playing unfortunately, but I'm sure you'll get there one day kid... best of luck with it all. :-)
@marmotman oh lol! k....lets start over... I have played great shows the reason i don't post them on youtube is because the hall i play at has a no-picture/video policy for very stupid copyright reasons... I never ment to come at you in a bad way...but your comment comes off as very jealous. My videos don't have any of my full songs, I'm recording one for classe..only audio.. you'll be the first to hear it. Then you'll hear my actual style, and youl see my musical maturity is much higher then
@marmotman most musiciens my age.. Even the ones who don't listen to hip-hop/(c)rap.... So no hard feelings...your comment simply came off as jealous. But i agree with you about Alex...but you can tell he still has style. No doubt.
@marmotman Huh? I don't understand? How are jamming and practice in contradiction with each other? Maybe you're implying that he's not improvising as a jam would suggest? Come on, do you really think he's prepared that solo note for note in advance?!! He is JUST jamming, but of course he's practiced shit loads too, that's the way it's meant to be of course. Otherwise, you'd sound like shit.
Her eyes say I can't believe that I am doing this LOL . And when he does his cool runs she is so content and pleased like a little kid in a candy store , Awesome :)
