A profiteer: because he never kept money and always gave charity to the poor, and he gave a bedouin his only clothes and stayed at home until someone gave him one as a gift.
A war lord: because he never killed anybody for 63 years (his whole life) except for 1 person (Obay) who already threatened him to kill him, and he only hit him in the skin of his shoulder, but he died.

then why didn't these Muslims scientists' ancestors do anything related to science? until Islam came to them and encouraged them to search and learn, and as you may not know, God rewards you for only seeking knowledge, and more if you learn and teach others. That's how they became great scientists.
