  • This song will always tug at my heart strings. Takes me back to my youth. Proud to say I still hail from Georgia, and I can proudly say I know exactly what Kinney is singing about in this song.

  • buncha georgia boys knew how ta rock.

  • how did a band this good not become famous? they had the heartland spirit of springsteen and the catchy energy of GNR. some things defy explanation.

  • @airman13579 amen to that! I just saw them last night, and they still kick ass. new drummer and rhythm guitarist, but still excellent.

  • takes me way back!

  • I miss being shitfaced with my friends in the early 90s at DnC shows. Just listened to four albums of theirs straight in an attempt to get it back. Ramones meet Country, forever.

  • sounds like something blackberry smoke would play--check them out aswell. great song :)

  • @DennChooch thats funny cause I just saw DnC last night, and blackberry smoke plays the same concert hall tonight. Kevn said he really likes them

  • One of many talented bands to pop out of the other end of the Athens Ga. creativity tube.........Go Dawgs!!

  • I picked up a copy of Stomp & Stammer at a record store here in Knoxville, they're playing july 29th in atlanta @ buckhead theatre's 1 yr anniversary. opening is Jason(axl rose) Isbell, futurebirds, & jonny corndawg. I assume DnC still plays in & around atlanta....>?

  • Saw DnC many times first time was at Georgia Southern in 88'. A kid across the hall went to high school with them and got us in for free. I was hooked forever. I have seen them many times since. Saw them in like 95' At Dover AFB they opened for Skynyrd. I have run into Kevin Kenny several times at the Windjammer in Isle of Palms here in SC. Kick Ass band that was born in the times of hair spray and spandex. To my knowledge they never wore any, thank you DnC for being true to the music.

  • Underated and I don't know why?? I mean shit, Tesla made it..what happened here?

  • STILL GOING STRONG! SUPPORT THIS BAND IF THEY COME TO YOUR AREA, ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED BANDS OF ALL-TIME. MET THEM FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER BEING A FAN FOR OVER 20 YEARS, SOME GREAT GUYS, OUTSTANDING SONGWRITING AND KICK ASS ROCK!

  • great lets drink!

  • Kevn played this, at my personal request, for my 27th birthday in Tuscaloosa Alabama. He visited with me and my friends in between sets and asked what we wanted to hear. Honeysuckle Blue and Scarred but Smarter is what I requested. He opened the next set with both!

  • Had a few beers with him as well back in the day! Great guy! Great band!

  • anyone share the knowledge that the first two notes sound the exact same to those of their song I see Georgia?

  • @Wastelander1972 Yeah, they just slowed it down a bit.

  • @Wastelander1972 thats the song it refers too!! do you remember how it goes? get it!

  • Amazingly...... touching my soul deeply.... right up there with Sweet Home Alabama to this Canadian Girl....much love xox You know who you are my Master always in my heart. Kisses you Intensely.

  • When the honeysuckle blooms in the deep south the air is filled with the sweetest scent you`ll ever smell and you can`t get enough of it. I`ve been all over the country, that scent is in few other places plus never seen sky bluer than the south.

The south will always be my home. This song simply tells it like it is.

  • Alpharetta, GA here!

  • a true southern rock anthem !!!!!!

  • Another great georgia band!!!!

  • My buddy's dad is the bassist.

  • 2 people have never seen the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Glad to say I live there.

  • Running through these caverns of gold runs a river of death indeed......an old hotel serves as a shelter for children of the street....abandoned by the promised land set sail on your own.....how much longer will the well be dry for those who roam...i gotta ticket in my pocket to send the corner man..who's never been...have you ever seen the blue ridge mtns. boy..or the chatahoochie..or the honeysuckle blue!!

  • Saw these guys in 92 where I met my wife of 17 years now in the beer line:) These guys ROCK! I think this has got to be one of their best songs!

  • @Erok67 they where awsome at the old Omni,ATL GA1988. 69 VADER.

  • chill bumps every time.... great southern rock. played a million times up and down georgia dirt roads..... sometimes in the ditch, if ya catch my drift.

  • Have u ever seen the Blue Ridge Mnts boy !!!!!!

  • WOW

    FANTASTIC ((,

  • i grew up in ga, and hated it back then. i still dont love it, but when i hear this song, i think of Rose Hill Rambles, Six Flags, and the pot festival in chastain park(i know its been changed to pop festival but who are they trying to kid?)

  • @penguininpjs008 could not make enough money in the south, some of the best yrs of my life was down HOME!!

  • This is one of the most underated bands and songs of all time..It amazed me that me and my buddies dug the shit out of these guys, but outside the south east, they were relatively unknown...

Geez what a great writer Kevin is..

  • @0922pauly isn't that the truth !!!!!!!

  • @SugarBear0199...Me too, front & center! What a great show! They still rock and how cool to see Men From Earth together making music again! I'm headin back to see their show this coming Friday too!

  • singer sounds like mike tramp from white lion

  • Whatever happened to these guys?...they had such potential...sound better than the Black Crows...

  • @CoastGuardIDC They performed last night at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg, FL to a very enthusiastic crowd. They still have it!!!!

  • @SugarBear0199 ....awesome...hope they come to the New Orleans area..

  • still one of my favorites....

  • good song! yeah!

  • i saw these guys in Augusta at Riverwalk about 12 years ago. they rocked.

  • I think I got this one and "Whisper Tames The Lion" at the same time. What good times!

  • Very underrated band. Greatest song for Southerners disaffected by time and place. They will always have a place in my heart. From a Southern Globetrotter in Asia. Long live "Drivin and Cryin"

  • Back in Macon a week from tomorrow and cant wait. they always put on a great show.

  • I love all of their songs, but this is by far the best!!

  • heard this song first in 1996 just after coming to the usa, lived in atlanta for 9 years. 99x (hell yeah) played this song a lot then, and they still do. i live in texas now and listen to 99x.com daily. georgia is my promised land, and one day i will come home. y'all stay peachy !!!

    ben, texas

  • I used to drive around the little town I used to live in when I was 16 in 1990 blasting my radio to rock and THIS SONG. The sherrif called my dad telling him to tell me to turn my radio down. LOL. This is still my headbanging and fist pumping song to this day. I'm 36 years old. I saw Drivin' N Cryin' in concert at the Roadhouse in Lagrange, GA. in 2009 and it was just something to FINALLY see these guys after all those years. They ROCKED my teenage years and still do! Kevn is a great singer!

  • Saw these guys back in the day at The Dugout close to Emory University in Atlanta, GA.. Great song. Makes me homesick for GA.

  • Love, love, love this song!

  • If you live or have lived in the South, well, then you already understand how hard this song hits your soul.

  • @tommyrock69 amen.

  • @tommyrock69 :)

  • @tommyrock69 Absolutely....I was working in Ann Arbor at the U of M and when I would play this song I would get desperately homesick..(East Tennessee)

  • @tommyrock69 blue ridge GA, 1984-1994, my ma @ dad !! theze guys were on back in my area 1987!! peace.

  • @tommyrock69 True, I have lived in the Atlanta area for half my life now. Love this song!

  • @tommyrock69 I wouldn't be from anywhere else but the deep south, Georgia. This song kicks ass and makes you stand up and be proud of being from the South. It resonates in your soul!!

  • nice mullet kevn! i forgot you had a mullet back in the day. most incredible songwriter i know, great video.

  • drivin n cryin where always the shit thank god for kevin

  • Troup county and Rabun county Ga. back in the day! Maybe its still the same, the world is,maybe we should slow down.

  • @dmannj72 Just like everywhen else. It's the safe but different.

  • i was lucky enough to see him about 5 years ago, such a great show and definitely one i'll never forget

  • this is a perfect rock song.

  • these guyz were huge down south!!!

  • This is marvelous music! It's a shame they were not known in Europe. Glad I've found them here. Great!

  • @Jadranko23 Kevin don't speak European . He's been .

  • @AUS10TEX :? sorry, I don't understand what you mean? What Euopean?

My point is that this band was unknown and unrecognized in Europe. All the fame probably took Black Crowes, as they were touring all around, all the time. ;)

  • Still one of my favorite songs of all time. This song is a true story telling how nice of a person Kevin really is. Those of you have never really knew Kevin or you would never talk sh*t about the man. Glad I had the pleasure to see him play and get to have a few beers a bunch of times as D n C played the midwest. Especially the Blue Note in Columbia. Great times!!!

  • @mtssalty good deal I am from athens...saw them bout 8 years ago--well saw them several times in their hometown--in a bar called athens music factory...they didn't get on stage they stayed on ground level with the audience which was only about 20 people because in athens they're like no big deal to anyone except me...anyway, kevin and the guys were playing literally five feet in front of me and i was the only one standing there...amazing moment...fly me courageous, honeysuckle blue stait to hell

  • @mtssalty It's Kevn.

  • @soblueimblack I should have remembered that haha. My friend Kevin was going to legally change his name to match as a tribute. A few too many parties since now and then and this was lost in my mind till you brought that up.

  • @mtssalty I had way too many beverages over the years that probably wiped my mind of a lot of things. I was lucky enough to grow up in Atlanta during DNC's start and caught them more times than I can recall. Always put on a great show.

  • @mtssalty Mizooooooooooooourah!

  • Surprised at how much Kevn looks like Todd Rundgren.

  • After the Army, leaving Georgia, I went to college in North Dakota. This song came out the second year I was there, and immediately bought the album and bombarded the radio stations with requests for them to play this song. I've seen them perform at the 688 club down on Spring Street in Atlanta three or four times, and at another time in Buckhead. Had drinks with Kevin twice... seriously dude, see an orthodontist!

  • @EricBBrandon1 and?

  • @1983platypus And your purpose in life is?

  • @EricBBrandon1

Who gives a damn about his teeth? He writes great songs!

He is a musician, not an dentist.

  • @PTRguitar ........perhaps never sees a dentist? You don't have to be a dentist to have a great smile do you?

  • @ushouldntjudgeme No you don't. Still, his teeth are way less important. I just can't imagine why people can worry about someone's teeth.

  • Kevn is a great song writer. He always was and he always will be. And he does have an interesting voice. That's why I like to see him perform no matter what his weight or whatever.

  • I saw them at Big Spring Jam two years ago. Sad to say, Kevin Kinney kind of let himself go; he gained some serious weight, but the performance was still good for a band who's been around for so long.

Too bad they didn't have much of a crowd...I used to listen to these guys all the time as a kid...I always loved Kevin's unique-sounding voice.

  • UA beatle hair pork is n a smoker.

  • one of the best bands of all time! they are so underrated, they need to be up there with "the ramones" or "AC/DC"...gonna go see them tomorrow 12/26/09

  • So, how was the show, you lucky one ?

  • it was amazing if you ever get the chance to go see them...go.

  • I'd love to, but unfortunately I don't think they're gonna tour in our good old Europe . In France, where I live, they never really got famous. Personnaly, I discovered them at the beginning of the 90's at the same time that I was discovering The Black Crowes . Great period !!! Keep on rockin',man !!!
