  • Excellent !!!

  • Elle a des électrodes dans ses mains! Et c'est relié à un système électrique qui les fait bouger! Uu

  • actually i heard around 18 bumble bees or 23, whatever, your playing is amazing, i hope to get to the standard you are at soon :)

  • I enjoyed this very much, im 16 and i just started working on this piece last week. I think she played it at very good speed, it wasnt too fast, or too slow. It sounded like bumblebees flying to me. Thank you for posting this. Made my day = )

  • Everyone who is even able to play this deserves RESPECT you basterds, of course she doesnt compare to evgeny kissin or rachmaninov, but at least she would kick those peoples ass who say she cant play

and its not too fast lol, i didnt know theres so many experts here on youtube

  • @JoinThaBrawl

Stop making everything sound like a competition! It's music for goodness' sake!

  • @Ragtime44Films That's just the way I like it to be played...you all are making philosophy about why I'm playing it so fast and why shouldn't it be so fast....I have fingers that can play fast and I like it....that's it!

  • @paola182003

No no no no no. I respect your opinion, friend. I'm just saying how people keep comparing pianists to other pianists ALL THE TIME.

I say just listen to the music.

  • sei assolutamente allucinante O.O

  • there were some mistakes :S

  • wow! She's playing on a piano coffin..

  • slow it down.........sounds more like the bullet train to me

  • too fast ><

  • ummmm....i should watching this before i get depress and stop playing the piano! lol

  • sorry, but it's waay to fast :/

  • I agree, It's a good interpretation. It's a Russian college, so the tempo is right.

  • i dont like how she plays it xD

    nobody compares to maksim

    he play it really good

  • @shielld1 watch?v=zDqNf5jW5nA&feature=related

    this is far superior,

  • Maksim mrvica is the best

  • @PjGalapatz

    @shielld1

are you both kiddin me?check out evgeny kissin and yuja wangs version..

  • @Nickytotsz04 im not kidding!! i love maksim's version coz i love crossovers!!

  • Hi Paola:

I love the way you performed this piece. I'm learning to play it. I notice that you use the pedal off and on. Which parts do you pedal? Do you use the soft pedal as well?

    Choo

  • Hi Paola:

I love the way you play this piece. I'm learning to play it too. I notice that you use the pedal off and on. Which parts do you pedal?

    Choo

  • you're really talented, but i didnt enjoy listening to that, it was way too fast for me to enjoy it : (

but you are very very very very talented : ) record another version, but slower?

  • no guys.this piece must be played in 1 minute.i have played it and learned it by my teacher who is very good and had played it.

  • a fucking master!!!

    gorgeous!!!

  • Woah a minute, that's great!

  • i think the piano is off tune slightly

  • do you have perfect pitch? maybe it's your computer :P my old one made everything really flat

  • air pressure & room temperature could have something to do with it.

More likely it will be due to the encoding of the video or the original tape which it came from - the piano is in tune with itself - if the overall pitch seems off then it will be a technical fault.

If you take two different cd players and play the same CD with them you will usually find that they flange out of sync after a while - this will of course also effect the pitch of each playback as the speed is not 100% accurate

  • The only thing I might suggest is check out Evgeny Kissin for his use of dynamics...other than that...if you come to Vancouver, BC...I'll pay to watch you.

  • Not much wrong with this at all. A bit different than say Evgeny Kissin or Yuja Wang. I think some of you should try to play it. I'm impressed. I admire all concert pianists. The average person doesn't have a clue, how much training and dedication it takes to play this well.

  • if you're a pianist you should know how much dedication and practice and painstaking work goes into a song like this!! :@

  • @Mimieeeeeeee it just didnt sound very well the way she played it. i prefer it on a sax or guitar

  • meh. personal preference i guess.

  • look up worlds fastest piano player. 20 notes per second!

though it is on a different instrument even though it says piano

  • i love it!!!!!!!!!!

  • At the difficult parts she gets slower, sometimes with the left hand, sometimes the right one.

  • uau que chingon

  • Very good, possibly one of the best performances of this piece I've heard. Quiet body; no excess motion to waste energy.

I would actually suggest taking it a little slower. Not a lot, mind you - just a few ticks. Listen to Rachmaninov's piano roll version to hear what I mean - there's a tempo between too fast and too slow, where the notes have a stunning clarity to them. The issue is that it's just a bit too slow to play purely on muscle memory. It takes tremendous technique to accomplish.

  • On that note, though, I will point out that I have learned this piece, and since learning it, I have learned technical aspects of piano playing that I didn't know then, and have yet to work them into my performance of the piece. So for all worthwhile intents and purposes, your version is far superior to mine. So I'm not talking down to you, I'm talking theoretically - things I would say to myself, had I given your performance.

  • Thank you very much for your advices, I think I'll deeply meditate upon what you wrote about my performance. Talking about myself as a pianist, I must tell you that I always had to "battle" against my fingers to teach them not to play "that" fast (just the opposite of the usual way pianists practise..). Anyway I appreciated very much the way you could explain what you meant.

  • wow amazing!

where can i find the transcribed version by rachmaninov?

  • LOL typical.. played wayyyyyyyy tooo fast, although techincally a good way of showing off lol

  • theres a limit on how fast a song should be played and this is too fast..

  • The tempo written by Rach is "Presto" (it means more than Allegro, I'm italian I can tell you) and it should sound like an insect flight. As far as the pianist can do it clear, where this limit starts from?

  • actually my man rocky played it between 144-152 bpm. This kinda sounds like an insect flying in the rain..eh but mb i'm just jealous bc i'm just learning flight and can't play that fast yet :p

  • But i didnt feel any bees effect...

  • @paola182003 Haha from the mental capacity to see the notes flying by ^^

  • Christ!!! This is awesome :D

  • I love watching your fingers and your piano is amazing. I want it!

  • Nonostante le donne sacrificano sempre molto di più degli uomini la propria carriera per amore della famiglia, le tue esecuzioni sono sempre entusiasmanti!

  • Wow. She played REALLY fast... and it sounds really dyna...... oh wait.

    Nevermind.

  • i like Kissin's version.

  • I respectfully disagree. I love the speed.

  • "with all due respect" can't feel the bumblebee flying.

  • I have to agree, the I don't feel the change in directions whatsoever, but that could be caused by poor audio.

  • thats not true this song is played very fast remember its the FLIGHT OF THE BUMBLEBEES.

  • every pianist today wants to play faster than any other but the lose all dynamic quality

  • Comment removed

  • @plerimest maybe for some reasons today..those musical instruments made these days are far more inferior than those made in the golden era of piano.i think thats 90's

  • See: Yuja Wang plays the Flight of the Bumble-Bee

  • Just a lil slower and its very nice

  • Bravissima !

  • fantastic.

  • bravissima! cosi' espressiva e ritmica!

  • this is insanely fast wow

  • I play this piece as well and there are definetly supposed to be swells in volume to match the effect of a bee flying by, however while I can play it this fast I feel that this song loses some of it density at such a fast speed and I usually keep it a little slower to give the ear a chance to catch up. Just my preference, but great job.

  • post a video of you playing it then.

    lol

  • it's OK... too much pedal but it sound like... hm... not bumble bee... can't feel it..

  • I feel that women are better musicians though most of the known musicians are men. How comes this didnt get a 5 star rating

  • Most of the times, when women are forced to choose between career and love for their children, they choose the 2nd one....most of the times men would choose the 1st one.

That's the reason why most of the known musicians are men.

  • Hey,

I am not trying to discriminate. But most of the musicians became famous at a very young age(before getting married). This may be true in the modern world though.I not sure if this is you in these videos. But this pianist is very talented..

  • Yes, this pianist is me.

I didn't say you discriminated, I just could realize in my life that women more often than men renounce career for love. It's my own experience and opinion.

  • i could've sworn that she played the song faster than it usually is...

  • she seemed to have these weird volume swells, which isnt right for this song

  • i dun have the feelingg of the bees i think she is slightly too fast

  • rubato? or robotic?

  • fast yea.. but.. i dont feel it..

  • very fast and well played, but I honestly didn't hear or feel the bumblebees, sry. :(

  • i am becoming a bee soon ...

  • that was insanely fast

  • awesome playing!!

the red bench makes me nauseous though.

  • Wow, she looks striking on the piano in the red, with the matching seat.

  • this one is better than the original.

  • I'll ask her to marry me...

  • i cant find the original versoin sheet music for this particualr piece.

  • Brava Paola.........

    666

  • 'nsomma...

  • Sono senza parole, complimenti!

  • You could play a prelude i composed, i think it would sound beautiful in your hands...Guau that would be really something out of this world for me!!!...

  • italian do it better

  • Even this sounds like a prokofiev version the way she phrases. Wich might be the result of paola playing mainly prokofiev pieces. :P Dunno but she plays everything awesome imho!

  • it will sound strange to you but the second Sonata by Prokofieff is the only piece I play by that composer, anyway thank you for your comment, it's always very useful.

  • Haha, that's very odd and quite strange to hear indeed. I actually thought you had some 3-4 of his sonatas under your fingers already since you phrase that way. Found many similarities in these and prokofievs recordings. Might be coloured by the fact that I like both of yours intensive energetic way to phrase.

  • good speed but didn't really sound like a bumble bee, listen to rachmaninov's version, now that's the real deal!

  • ....wow....

  • wow So good ! and the real speed ! awesome

  • very good and beautiful pianist!! who is this?
