sometimes you can find them in oriental markets or world diversity stores. You can find them at high end art stores too, those however are more traditional bento made with wood, lacqured etc. And they aren't cheap either! Ebay really is easiest, you can get a traditional bento for 10 bucks.
Bento boxes come in different sizes for diferent needs. That's must be for children. I have seen many bento boxes in Japan, that's small even by the Japanese standard.
Very cute! I love bentos. They're so adorable. I'm the type of person who doesn't eat a lot of food so if I was to take a lunch somewhere with me that would be perfect. You don't have to worry about wasting wrapers or anything like that.
Your little SVP camera has, by far, the best sound quality of the bunch. If I may request, please do the next unboxing with the camera used here if you still own it. I think this is the best one you've ever done as it sounds like I'm actually there.
i never noticed but it does have the best sound, i think when i get time i will do a test video with all 6 cameras i have laying around and then see which is best.
seeing something new is one idea, but i have a playlist of unboxings i watch all the time to relax, somehow the sounds of unboxings are what i enjoy the most.
that's a beautiful one. My 2 tier doesn't have that nice plastic seal. you can put many types of food in it if you slice your veggies, tofu, or even make little rolls out of deli meat or cheese
I just bought two bentos from jlist. I can't wait for them to get here! Thanks for the video. Now I have a better idea what size they really are. I would have bought them no matter what size they were.
If I may ask, did you get that one from Jlist/Jbox? I've been looking at theirs but I've heard various reports about their shipping times (some people say they get theirs in a week, others say it's taken months, even when they were in stock) so I'm hesitant. Who would you recommend?
Also, thanks, I've been wanting to see something like this, showing the true scale of boxes for a while, this helps a lot (I have problems with spatial awareness so can't imagine the sizes)
If it takes that long you should ask if they have EMS shipping, which is fairly fast (4-10 days). It costs anywhere from $7-$15 depending on the seller if you order on Ebay. I've got four already,I'm just not too good at cooking yet.
I want to start collecting these and using them. They're beautiful and functional. I suppose you have to take it with you and hope there is a fridge to put it in so the perishables don't spoil, right? I mean, it gets hot here in Southern Calif, I couldn't just keep it in my car or whatever.
you can do what I do, keep it in a thermal cooler bag, same way you would keep soda or food cool. I am out in the new york heat all day and it works okay. ADVICE- in duane reade i bought reusable ice cubes(little ice cube size bags you can freeze), pack that around the bento box and your good for 6 or 8 hours. best of luck
your gonna lose some weight with that for sure, probably can fit a healthy amount of food in there though.

Hahaha. The first time I got my lunchbox I was like, "WTF. It's TINY! I thought they were a LOT bigger then this..."
But then when you eat the food in it, you realize that it does fill you up :D Get a good amount of food in one of those double layer boxes

yes jlist_store on ebay was the seller, and it took less than 2 weeks but worth a long wait if need be, a very handy box.
