Thank you for this movie is great, wonderful pictures and wonderful Daniel Lavoie. Daniel is the perfect man and a great, great artist! I love to listen to it and look at him. As Frollo is wonderful! I know most of his songs. Thank you once again - Daniel smile is unique!

my singing teacher was a dresser on the original london production of Notre Dame De Paris and she had the lovly task of dressing this gorgeous man!! soooo jelous!! lolxxx
Merci Rabidfangirl77. Thanks for sharing all of these wonderful pictures of Daniel and this song. Daniel is so easy on the ears and eyes. I never knew he existed. When I was in Rome in May, a local singer in a restaurant near the Coleseum gave me a CD on which were 2 songs from Notre Dame de Paris. I was enchanted by the melodies. When I came back to the U.S. I searched YouTube and found the whole musical and of course Daniel Lavoie i.e. "Parle moi de Florence". Heavenly!!
I love him. He is so lovely. I have been playing his Woman to Man Cd and the song "Paris Calling" just won't leave my. I hear it in my sleep.. perhaps because I'm going to Paris in 9 days!
Somebody please please translate this! Cheers! :)
This day waits for me It always waits for me It was reserved for me And I can only live it This day waits for me Already it empties Already it is less heavy The time runs away everywhere I shall go out of it living or dead And it doesn't much matter what fate holds. This evening will be Already behind me Very empty of his promises.
love him, love the video, love the song! Cette journee m'attend is definitely one of my fave :)
I don't speak French at all, but any song is simply perfect when Daniel sings it! Would be great if somebody could translate this song though! Please! I tried online translator, but it sucked. Those who couldn't understand French would really appreciate the meaning behind this opus, I'm sure :)
Ahh that made me happy lol! This is really a beautiful song and the meaning behind it is as well. you're right, online translators suck adn i would also appreaciate a REAL translation! I know he's singing alot about a woman who has his heart and she is waiting for him. It's so romantice *sigh*...He is truly a gift. Im so glad you appreciate him and his singing. I will also be awaiting an accurate translation haha
merci pour cette collection de photos et les deux chansons.....(translation- thnx for the collection of photos and the two songs) I just saw him live for the 1st time on wednesday sept.3rd 2008.... been waiting all my 37 years of life to see him live in St-Boniface,Winnipeg, Manitoba Merci Daniel Vive les Franco-Manitobains !
vous êtes très bienvenu! you are so lucky! i wish so badly that i could see him live. im sure he was divine! i live in the US and in the south at that : ( i really dont think he will come down here..i should just go to Canada to see him then!! 37 years wow glad to see the fans are keeping it real! lol
He was amazing as Frollo in Notre Dame de Paris. I love his profound and powerful voice. Can't think of any other singer/actor who could have played that role better than Daniel did.
Thank you for this video! I've only just discovered Daniel and I can't stop listening to him. Not to mention watching his absolutely wonderful and kind face. No wonder you're his fan. From now on, so am I. Thanks again, a wonderful job!!!
Thanks for making this! LOVE!! Daniel Lavoie is sooo wonderful-amazing-terrific-magnificentness!! And he's a wonderful Frollo! Yay! Great Job! (His eyes are pretty!)
thanks to everyone. funny i thought they are either blue or black. but indeed, his eyes are beautyful, actually, don't know if you've noticed (LOL! LOL! LOL!) but he's really handsome.
I wrote and asked him. They are the same color as my daughter's eyes. She's 5, and has stunning eyes, but they don't really have one color. He replied and says they're called, "des yeux pers," which he said means, "eyes that change colour with the sweater you wear." Another French guy I know had not heard that expression, so it's got to be a French-Canadian thing.
Probably. After seeing NDdP live in '99, I got into the music, but youtube didn't exist yet, so after I scratched up the CD, I lost the experience for awhile. In December, I searched for the heck of it and voila! Here was all of this stuff. It might have been you that mentioned he had a myspace account. I created one just to check his out. Of course, Daniel Lavoie would be my favorite... obviously.
It wasn't me who mentioned the MySpace page but I too opened my account there so that I could comment on Daniel's poems. He has a fine group of fans, fit for a fine musician and person like him.
Great video! :D Daniel is not only an incredible musician, but he's an incredibly generous and sweet person. I wrote to him in French (my French is horrible, by the way) asking for an autograph for my mom for Mother's Day. I didn't expect anything, but to my surprise he wrote back and included two pics, one for me and one for my mom. Even though it was late, I forgive him; I know he's really busy. It was in time for my birthday, so I was really happy.
You can go on myspace and go under music. Search his name and then click on send message. I e-mailed a silly question about eye color and he replied. AWESOME!
That's where he's from. Apparently there's a small French community in the English speaking province of Manitoba. Now he lives south of Montreal somewhere near the St. Lawrence River.
Daniel Lavoie was born in the small town of Dunrea in southwestern Manitoba. He got involved in the French music scene in St. Boniface (Winnipeg's French quarter), and then moved out to Québec to pursue his career. Whenever he comes back home to do a show, it's a "love-in".
It was an e-mail. It's posted on his site for signed pics. I'm not sure if it applies to regular e-mail, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Go on his site, and scroll down to "Signed Photos" for more info. (I'd link you directly to it, but YouTube won't let me.)
It's true: I once just wrote an E-Mail to him remarking it would be great if he did a live-record of his concert "comédies humaine" that he did in 2004 (GREAT Show, worth while the trip to Paris!!). Some weeks or months later I found a letter from him in my letterbox with a signed picture an the answer that he probably would do a record! Well, I never had expected any answer, but of cours it was great getting one! He's my favourite singer and his album "comédies humaine" is the BEST ever!
thanks so much for the frollo part. it's so strange to see how much he is changed in this role from what everyday Mr. Lavoie is. amazing how such a delicate man could play the role of a sick minded, incerdibly passionate, wicked priest like frollo. TU VA ME DETRUIRE is my very favourite song, together with Disney Frollo's Hellfire. i'm a great Frollo fan!

He could have played Bobby Ewing's brother on Dallas. They look similar, I think it's the eyes. I loved him in Notre Dame de Paris.

They are green, you can google for his 'Comedies Humaines' disc, since his face is painted in white you can see his eye color more clearly :).
