It isn't even possible for that to be true. The roll of the dice is obviously pure chance, but what you decide to do with them comes down to skill. If it was pure chance you wouldn't have the ability to choose your move at all.

Paul Magriel is some kind of BG "god". I've met him, and even been lucky enough to play ( and win!) a short match or two online when he was a.k.a. X-22. For all he did for the game, most serious players know of him and make allowances.

I think best online backgammon is bgroomdotcom,the sofware is very good and they have a lot of players.You can play tournaments to and you can make a lot of money.

a) they're probably tired after a long hard tournament, b) there's $100k on this match, and c)if you can work out the math so quick, you should be playing in the world championships too. But perhaps you don't know as much about the game as these guys or me:)

I'd call his accent, "retard"... Look up the youtube video "backgammon, the Cruellest game" or something like that. You will see him being interviewed. He basically wrote the backgammon bible in the 70s or so. But he's a total freak. In the interview, he couldn't keep himself from sticking his tongue out and chewing on it when he was 'thinking', and he even picked his nose on camera.
