Been a fan of the Arthurian Legend for years. Used to think the best Arthur was Richard Harris, but I think Bradley James may have stolen my heart. Bradley James and Colin Morgan are perfectly cast. Let's not apply the standards of our time to the way people thought and acted back in the Dark Ages.Merlin was Arthur's close friend and adviser, but it was NOT GAY! Such very close friendships were common between men in the warrior class in the Middle Ages. Indeed-they considered male-male relationships on a higher level then male/female. That is true. And I still enjoy the show within the context of that understanding that it is not meant to be historically accurate. However it is important for other viewers to realize that fact also. That they are NOT learning anything truthful about the Dark/Middle Ages or the true Arthurian legends as they originally existed, from this show.

They can be twats but we all love each other and I would sacrafice mostly everything for them. As littlematchgirl1 said Bromace is beautiful and most of the clips fit perfectly with the songs. i had a dream last night that i was working on merlin and we were in this really nice hotel and i was walking down the corridor and i turned a corridor and katie mcgrath was sat in a chair and bradley james was kneeling infront of her and he asked her to marry him she sed yes so i was crying and ran back to ma room bradley saw me ran after me i had a drawing pad with me and i had a photo with bradley james in a huge pink heart and i ripped that up bradley came in and asked me if i was ok

You never know... they might go with Arthur/Merlin by the very end - because after all, Gwen falls for Lancelot in the legends. They've already changed so much about the original stories (Arthur knowing his heiritage, no sword in the stone, Arthur and Merlin being the same age, no Blaise, Gwen being black etc.) that throwing in some slash wouldn't seem too drastic. The family auidence didn't mind Captain Jack Harkness on Doctor Who, after all ^.^

its very true, but i would think that changing the legends that much might be considerd a step too far by some. and also i think it is aimed at a slightly younger audience then dr.who ( lack of blood or serious violence , no tackling issues like raceisum, political correctness - lots of ethnic minorities who wouldnt have been there in the middle ages). i dont know all that much about the origonal legends - i thought that arthur and gwen ended up with each other and gwne cheated but arthur won he
