  • this is really fresh...great vid Matt...gotta try this out...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MASCHINE...glad i bought it!!!

  • Just violently jizzed all over my fucking Maschine. Getting Massive tomorrow for sure

  • I have Maschine & Komplete 8 - such brilliant software. Did have quite a few problems getting it all working and NI aren't helpful, nor offer anything if you have any problems other than help a week after you send an email. However, the forums really are in the know and solved all my problems.

  • 6:13 to 6:22 ... can that be done with the machine mikro?

    Please help meeee

  • I get more in love with maschine everyday I learn something new with it!!! Its a great music tool!

  • @gabymac09 I agree. Truly is the best piece of gear I have ever owned.

  • Sick. This video's affirmed my desire to get Maschine with Reaktor plugin. Hopefully can add to my plugin collection over time.

  • @tomaytemptation you won't be dissapointed. If you like, our Maschine course at Dubspot begins at the end of January too.

  • AM I SUPPOSED TO HAVE ALL OF THOSE PLUGINS?!?!?!?!

    WHAT

    THE

    HELL?

  • i have alllll those plugins but i have no idea how to get em to show up in my maschine software on that first tab... please help!!!

  • @weezlBPro make sure you are opening and running maschine in 32-bit mode

  • what scale is that?

  • thanks you guys. im fixin to get my maschine friday. bo!!!

  • @americannable Excellent! Make sure you remember to eat and sleep in between making music for hours on end ; )

  • @mcsg27 it works that good huh? i know what you mean, i got imaschine last week. that shit is addictive, its so easy, fast and fun. i had to go get maschine. i found one barely used for 4

  • Maybe a stupid question, but do you also need a good laptop/desktop computer? Or is al the processing done by the Maschine and your Laptop/desktop is just a tool to display better what you are doing?

  • @NilsGreaterson General rule of thumb is that yes, you want a good computer if you are taking your music production seriously. This will save you headaches in the long run and give you more power to achieve the sounds you hear in your head.

The Maschine is a software/hardware system meaning your computer is fully necessary to run the software

  • Man This was good :-) couldnt sleep now I wont sleep :D try and testing! thx

  • @Musiclogist haha - excellent. Check back for more Maschine vids and look for the Maschine Dubspot Online course beginning in January 2012!

  • How do you set up massive as a plugin?!?!?!?

  • @gnick3580 You may have to rescan your plugin directory in the Maschine preferences if you cannot see it inside of Maschine. Make sure you are updated to Maschine 1.7 as well

  • dose all of the masvie arnd razor come with maschine???

  • @djkrypto1103 no they don't. Maschine comes with plenty of drums and instruments, but the VSTs are all in Komplete

  • @mcsg27 is it possible to do some dutch without massive??

  • Maschine is by far the most important VST i own, but i wanna know, what is everyone elses favorite plugins for making electro/dance/dubstep productions? also what are some new and effective dubstep effects plug ins? I use ohmnicide (spelling?) and guitar rig and others like that. I have been watching these dubspot videos non stop and have learned alot. I LOVE YOU GUYS.

  • @KStoDubstep many people will definitively answer that Massive is THE dubstep synth. Tons of modulation control over multiple LFOs to get the most advanced wobble out there.

  • does maschine's buffer control the buffer of the vst inside it? ver. 1.6 / 1.7

  • @smartwerker yes. It is basically a host for the plugins loaded inside of it, so Maschine's overall buffer setting in the preferences is the buffer for everything

  • Hey Matt thanks for posting this. I found that even with the pad linking you can't play it via KB as you indicated. To get around that I set the midi channel for the sound to be the same one and it let me play / record the layered patches via kb and auto duped the sequence to each sound.

  • Kinda cumbersome that need to read tiny display and pad command combination with mouse. I don't like it.

  • @genpatsusensei38 you can do all of the commands from the Maschine. I used the mouse to make it more obvious to how everything was happening...and the display only looks small in a tiny video like this - when you're working on Maschine its more than large enough because you are right on top of it.

  • some people love to hate ... if you clicked dislike on this .... walk out side. take a look at the sky. breathe in the air. realize, Life is good. and that your negative attitude doesn't make life better, It makes it worse... then learn some self restraint and stay off the net.

  • @amigodio Hey! No time to play the victim. YOu are missing out on your NI forum duties. Get back to work!

    LOL!

  • holy shit! what is this maschine? (the software)

  • @Tr0ll321 it's a hybrid drum sampling workstation. google is your friend.

  • @amigodio BTW, it is humorous to see NI reps create new sockpuppet accounts so they can spam YT comments. I can tell exactly who you are....haha!

  • @amigodio LOL! Sure.

  • @amigodio I own one.

Now your next line will be that I own one and don't know how to use it. The Maschine fanboys are something else. Yes, I'll play along here.......the Maschine interface is soooooo new to me, it is such a challenge, never seen anything like it before......the shortcuts and ways to manipulate the software from the interface are soooo, soooo challenging for a 1st time noob like myself. I don't think I'll ever get it.

There. How's that? (sound like the NI forums, huh?)

  • @antimarxism

    do you have a problem?

  • @amigodio "can be done from the Maschine controller"

    That is not true whatsoever.

    "fastest workflow"

It can be "fast" if you work only within it's limitations, but beyond that, DAW is superior. That is why most Maschine users, (if) after getting past the basic "idea" stage, dump it to DAW for real production/arranging/etc... MPC style groove making has been around for decades.....very little "new" here. Nothing to get worked up about.

  • Dope Video ! Matt is a beast. Maschine is Growing so much !!!

  • "a lot of Kore's functionality is being put in Maschine"

Ummm no. Everything shown in the video is done in any standard DAW for years and years.

Hardly any of Kore's functionality was shown here, unless you're only knowledge of Kore is the very basic of features.

NI premapped some controls for their own products in their own hardware? Wow! Amazing! One would never expect such a thing. (btw, that is standard practice in 2011)

Workflow? U go from mouse to hardware the entire time.

  • @antimarxism sorry. just trying to help some others make music here. if you want to go hate on NI, you can do it in the forum or make your own software to do what you want.

  • @mcsg27 I own NI products, along with numerous other companies to produce/compose/engineer/etc.., and like many of NI's products. That doesn't mean I have to worship every aspect, of every feature, of every product they make. Acknowledging the positives and the negatives will help one to maintain or attain respect and legitimacy.

  • @antimarxism ur slightly missguided in your attack on that . they did not map a FEW controls of their own plugins with 1.6 what they did was add vst functionality WITH AUTOMAPPING for ALL PLUGINs NI or otherwise will automap to the 8 knobs. along with allowing you to map to macro controls. sure Kore has other functions but really your nit picking. and he's pointing out the easy way to stack.a big plus of kore. Also to play your linked pads from external just set the pads to the same midi channel

  • @flux302 So you nitpick the word "few" as you rail against "nitpicking".....LOL!

Again, do you really think in 2011 that anyone (other than casual noobs) would be impressed with "automapping" a companies own plugins? haha! And of course you can map your own controls. What world are you living in?

    "sure Kore has other functions"

You are really amusing. Please tell me this is a joke.

I own Maschine. It is a primitive toy for todays standards, and lacks numerous par features expected

  • @antimarxism I think you missread me. My point is that ALL plugins are automapped. asside from buying automap such as the remote sl controllers (which imho isn't as nice as this) and maybe the rip off m-audio version... what else does it? maybe I'm missing out. and no I wasn't joking I was pointing out that your complaining about a product that has been consistently been adding excellent new features free of charge. beside kore still works too. stay hating.. it will get you far in life I'm sure.

  • @flux302 All NI plugins SHOULD be automapped by default. That is expected and only par for the course, kid. Where have you been?

"adding excellent new features free of charge"

LOL! That is hilarious! Do you do standup? I'd love to come to your show.

So to recap, it is not Kore-like whatsoever, never will be, never has intended to be. NI will reveal their new sound design system soon enough, but in the meantime NI intentionally broke Kore, and use Maschine as current transition.

  • @antimarxism so your upset at what?.... and how did they "break Kore?" still works fine for me. :) lol..... have fun with your delusions

  • @flux302 I don't get it? Are you 8 yrs old? You continue to say I"m "hatin" and upset. What's next? "Umad"? You keep going there, so most would assume that is a sign of desperation.

I suppose you want to go back and forth with "umad bro?". Over and over.

I realized from the beginning that you were clueless, but now this is pathetic.

  • Hey dude, this is great - When I select plugins from the latest Maschine my plugins are listed as Massive (AU) and Massive (VST). If I select either of those it just loads some generic options but it never actually pops up the massive plugin. Do you have any advice? Is there a step missing here? Any help appreciated!

  • @teqlab I figured this out - By the way, the first time you load the plugins in Maschine all the presets are blank. The trick here is to double click the plugin name in Maschine (It appears in the window after you load the plugin) This loads the actual VST/Plugin and then maschine reads all the preset knob settings. This was very confusing.

  • Great tutorial man! Keep up the great work.

  • this is an awesome tip

  • @mcsg27 Thank you for some info, I donno what I did, I just kept trying a few things, and I figured it out... haha Donno how fully, but Im a happy camper now! Cheers!

  • thanks...I would like to know. "What camera are you using on the intro? Love the clarity on the demostrator prompter as well. What equip do you use? Please share or email me.. thank you for the vid... TheD

  • @TheDigitographer Canon T2i DSLR - love it!

  • Also if I go to Preferences and go to "add" in the plugins tab, and go to Reaktor, its not even selectable! :@ bah!

  • @3rdeye15 you are going to want to consult the Maschine 1.6 manual addendum to see how to access your plugin library

  • Damn, this is one thing Ive wanted to know how to do.. I never knew I could use my Razor synth inside Maschine!? When I follow the steps like shown , when I go to "plugins" its not showing my Reaktor 5 , and its loaded and installed.. I just never knew I could use it in Maschine! Any ideas?

  • Maybe already written in comments, but you can ctrl+drag to copy patterns or use the controller as you did but hit the new pad after paste

    Good video man! :)

  • @vileguile4 thats awesome! I never realized this. Its option+drag on the mac

  • how many vsts can you personally run before your cpu starts to overload? im running a MPB 2.53 4gb and I can run about 2 razors and a 2 massives, any more it will slam my cpu into the red in the maschine indicator and sound glitchy and clippy. any ways to help with this issue?

  • @whoryanp Razor is one of the more cpu-heavy Reaktor synths out there. It has a high/low mode that you can use for each sound. Massive has three modes ultra, high, eco - so try to set these as needed. You can solve the problem by quickly dragging the audio from the synth to a new Maschine sound and then just sequence the sample. Then you can bypass the plugin and it instantly cuts from the cpu!

  • Maschine has to be one of the best pieces out there.

  • @CultureNoir hardware or software?

  • the sounds arent my "cup of tea" but definitly a useful tutorial

  • Thanks for the great vid man! By the way, what midi keyboard are you using?

  • @ace101guy M Audio Keystation 88es. Not very deep keyboard which helps it fit with the desk very well. No need for knobs because I have Kore and Maschine.

  • All three synths seem sick. Waiting for Komplete 8 though.

  • dope one bro

  • I'm sorry I've been watching your vids since WOOOOOOOAAAA since the first one I believe, SO I've never ask, but I'd love to have the song at the intro and the one you use for the endings too.

  • Awesome

  • do you need all these programs to make cool sounds? or would just massive work by itself?

  • @nickgt111 Massive could definitely do all of this, but I love to show off all the goodness that NI has to offer ; )

  • razor has some sick presets!

  • this was dope...but question, say this is all done and you want to load another synth but want to use the keyboard like you did in the beginning, how do you bypass maschine to do that?

  • @AFullPlateProduction not sure I follow... you can always just load as many synths as you need in Maschine and play them from the keyboard, there is no bypassing, my controller is playing the synths loaded in Maschine here

  • @mcsg27 I just mean't like you said you can play the notes from maschine, but what if you wanted to use the midi controller instead of maschine?

  • @AFullPlateProduction than you need to unassign it. in ableton i just click the arm button on the maschine track to control the midi and then unarm it the same way.

  • @AFullPlateProduction

You probably know by now but you can hook an external keyboard to maschine via midi. You can also use the keys on the maschine to play keys though it's not as fun

  • @Jakker27 wow what? I can hook my akai mpk 49 into maschine, and then hook maschine up to my mac and I can still use the keyboard and maschine without unhooking and shit?

  • Is it possible to do a tutorial on this for ableton

  • Comment removed

  • wanna make a contest so i can win one?haha cuz $669 is outta my price range

  • good video!!)))))

  • High time to buy maschine i guess

  • sick!
