i got teased to once, this yr, i wore on corn rolls, and some of the popular kids were saying i looked like a basket ball player, saying i look like basket ball players i dont even know, and they said that i looked like shak with braids, but eventually they stoped, besides, my sis and i made the ppl who started it stop, but i know how you feel, kids can be jerks and i dont know why, but you look beautiful, dont let them get into your way

I had the same problem in high school. I wore my hair natural and relaxed. I listened to the music I liked. And I was confident! It was hard, but I loved being me. I think everyones unique. And we all just need to tap into it. Don't be angry at the people who insult you. They are asleep. Hopefully they will grow to love the diversity in this world and not be afraid. Don't let people make you feel like your natural hair isn't beautiful. I'm going to let you in on a little secret: many people of other ethnicities who wear straight hair don't have naturally straight hair and work just as hard to get it straight as african americans do, but it doesn't stay straight as long. I get weird looks from people when i wear my natural hair, and you know what I do? I MAKE IT BIGGER! The difference between beauty and ugliness is the confidence you wear on your face.

Congratulations to your mother for never feeding you negativity. There are many black and hispanic girls whose mothers don't even realize they they are teaching their little girls to hate their beauty. Continue to stand up for yourself because some of your classmates have a LOT of learning to do. One day they will realize their beauty like you do, but that may take them 20 yrs to get there. my god your such a pretty girl. when i was younger i got teased about the color of my skin i lived around alot of spanish ppl and if u had dark skin and couldnt speech spanish you would get teased.. but i never let that get to me cuz half the kids who did the teasing are lossers now on the streets lol :P

im a mixed girl (who looks mainly white) living in a primarily white neighborhood.
in the area i live in, if you dont have straight silky long, "white girl hair" then you automatically have "black" hair.
people make fun of me when i wear my natural hair sometimes, even though i have nice hair(its curly&about shoulder length)
i HATE ignorance.
i think ethnicity and nationality should be worn in any way possible.
