  • לא הייתי קונה ממנה אוטו משומש ולא בייגלה

  • this conflict was only possible because of the hypocrtical politics of the western world.

these people take the events of the holocaust as hostage to justify every hatred and violent act against the mankind

those people who support this state of terror should give them a part of their own lands because it was not muslims who persecuted and killed so many jews.

the word of the word is the word of the sword

"Khaybar, Khaybar o Jews, the army of Muhammad will return"

  • she is a war criminal!

  • "in a war like in war..."

  • Tzipi Livny is a brilliant diplomat. Nonetheless, violence can never be justice. Surely there are other solutions to be considered...

how about releasing a palestinian prisoner for every day of peace, that should buy some time

  • jmatrim, you say "violence can never be justice".. well, try saying that to leaders of hammas.

But this was not about justice. And not about buying time. This was self-defense against a terrorist organisazion that has been firing missiles blindly, targeting civilian population in Israel. What would YOUR country do?

  • Odedk83, that just sounds like rhetoric to me. Sense cannot be put to a series of senseless actions of war...no matter what side...violence cannot be excused.

  • Would you say that to your children if someone started beating them up at school? Don't dismiss this as a simple analogy, answer honestly.

Looking at it as violence for the sake of violence is a simplistic interpretation of someone who's sitting comfortably, miles away.

  • from my point of view, it is you who is advocating for a simple solution by using violence. Peace requires a commitment of non-violence by both sides. It is precisely when my child says that they "had no choice" but to respond violently, as Tzini Livni has said, that I correct the child, and tell them it is their duty to invent the possibility of peace. This is not an armchair solution, it is a way of life that is enviable compared to this seemingly never- ending tit-for -tat violence.

  • This argument can go on forever.. I'd hate to go on and simplify it to the level of "tit-for-tat violence". I appreciate the fact that there are still people in this world who claim they'd always try to "invent peace", but reality in this region is far more complicated.

Are you aware of all the offerings and gestures made by Israel, only to be accepted by corrupt hands? are you aware of how big the left-wing movement is in Israel? or maybe they don't show you that over there. There's more to it.

  • Well, there is definitely the 'reality' that people feel they have no choice but to be violent. As real as that sentiment is on the ground, we cannot solve today's problems with yesterdays conceptual tools. Advocating for peace, I believe, is advocating for the basic interests of both sides and remaining committed to the value of human lives to change 'reality' above all things. Thank you for the civil discussion.

  • You're most welcome :)

Maybe we've used terms that are too general - "peace", "violence".

The reality of the conflict is much less conceptual. It's down to borders and territory. It can be drawn on a map. Take a look at the hammas code (there's a document) - it clearly calls for the destruction of Israel, 1st thing.

If you had lived here you would've known that most Israeli people just wanna get along, but the other side's opinion of peace is moving Israel to the bottom of the sea.

  • Try to tell it to Hamas ...

  • @OdedK83 YOU WERE SO DAMN RIGHT, TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!

  • @OdedK83 YOU WERE SO DAMN RIGHT, TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!
