  • No one has commented on this video in two years. 4 years later Ron's running again saying the same thing. Only the inflation has happened and the unemployment is here.

  • gold as a "competing" currency would not work, because almost all of the gold is held by central banks.....so, initially there will have to be some currency that CAN be substituted.....like Lincolns Greenback...until gold can once again flow into the hands of the US Govt or the people..........any thoughts......???

  • I love ron paul

    ron paul 2012

  • Currently studying Economics ( Austrian), history and entrepreneurship. Thanks to Dr Paul for influencing my life!

  • I am stunned that Kudlow actually mentioned Hayek...this has got to be the first time Hayek's name is mentioned in network TV in many years

  • What do you mean he pwned him? They didn't seem to really be arguing.

But yea, support RON PAUL AND HIS IDEAS!

    LIBERTY!!

  • RON PAUL PWNED HIS ASS

    RON PAUL 2012

  • God Bless America that we have someone like Ron Paul who stands up for the truth in the midst of all the disinforamtion in the media and the control of the two Political Party by the New World Order!!

  • This is such a fucking incredible interview. There is no other presidential candidate who could have fielded those questions. Hayekian economic theory?! No other candidate.

This will always be one of my favorites.

  • rate and tell me what you boys think

  • this may be a stupid question, but aside from creating a new currency, how do we increase the value of the dollar? How do we get ride of all the money created that is causing the devalue of the dollar?

  • Back the dollar with something of value. Constitution says gold and or silver.

You can't inflate gold coins therefore, no control over free people who are on a gold standard. Fuzzy math and economic fairy tales keep the private Federal Reserve bankers in power. As long as the America can't understand the difference between real money (such as gold) and fake money (such as the Federal Reserve Note), when the Fed Reserve says, "Jump!" your only logical fuzzy answer is, "How high?"

  • I'm skeptical that introducing a gold competing currency would do the trick. Those crafty bastards behind the fed probably already have a plan for that (if it happens). Ideally there should be competing currencies produced within the market place.

  • why are we not seeing ANYTHING ELSE ON RON PAUL????? its march 1st now & he has disappeared from the news TOTALLY?????

  • John McCain has secured the required number of delegates to win the Republican nomination.

  • Larouche is a douche bag zionistic fucktard. Sorry but he is. He and Karl Karcher should bunk together in a FEMA camp.

  • Lyndon Larouche is the only one who knows what to do now. Check the vids on my channel, or go straigt to the LaRouche youth movement news page larouchepacdotcom and read the breaking developements, or listen to one of the webcasts.

  • Fox/News Corp. chairman Rupert Murdoch's e-mail: rmurdoch@newscorp(dot)com.

Let him know you are NOT happy with his decission to exclude Ron Paul.

  • I love this show! this is probably the most fair interview hes had.

  • When he says the the Fed is between a rock and a hard place he is talking about Mises's theory of the trade cycle. He says that once the central bank has inflated the currency, lowered the interests rates, and created the boom they only have two choices. They either inflate until they destroy the currency or stop inflating and create a credit crunch and thus end the boom, creating a depression.

  • Spread the word of the 2008

    Ron Paul Money Bomb

    Be Part Of The Revolution!

    newyearsrevolution08dotcom

  • Ron Paul is the only candidate intelligent enough to fix the financial problems that this country is facing.

He's also the only one who speaks the truth. you will not here any other candidate say that Federal Reserve is a private corporation.

The media doesn't want us to know about this guy.

check into him right here on u tube.

  • I dont get it. Is he saying since we had this monetary system we've always been stuck between "a rock and a hard place"?

  • no.. he's saying "now" with the current credit crisis, lowing rates helps over debted borrowers and could help keep the US out of recession.. yet sacrifices the value of the dollar and that hurts purchasing power of Americans.

  • So then the Federal Reserve is okay as long as its managed efficently? I guess like the other fiat systems in the world??

  • well, $1.00 in 1913 is now worth only $0.04 in purchasing power.

$9 trillion in debt..if rates go up, that's a lot of money.

figure this.. That $9 trillion in debt at 5% per year in interest is = to $3,913 per year per American houshold. (there are 115 million households in the US)

  • He's championing a competing currency which I'm all for so long as any of us can participate in this market.

But like all megalomaniacs and thugs, "they'll" probably just make it open to their cronies.

A culture gets the government it deserves.

    You want change in government?

It has to start with the culture. That's where the focus should be.

Start by not accepting 50 hour a week workweeks and dropping your kids off at childcare factories

  • Ron Paul is a American Hero! We love Ron Paul! Greetings from Stockholm Sweden!

  • Did he say he was going to do a skimpy ad on TV?

  • Obviously Kudlow doesn't understand inflation. Too bad he won't learn from Paul.

  • If a Democrat were elected, I will bet my life there will be something "in the pot."

I don't understand where you're going with the comment of: "I wasn't smart enough to save and look out for myself, so I accept your offer." I think this is one of the many reasons there should be social security and socialized medicine. I don't understand how Ron Paul could be of help to you, or help the children who would be in your shoes in the coming years.

  • Why would you expect a monthly check from me? With that statement, I don't understand what you're trying to jab me with.

    --

"Company "downsized" with me as was oldest and highest paid in dept. Now, how do i get a job period, let alone one that pays for my expertise and experience?"

I thought government shouldn't intervene with people and companies?

  • Constitution is up for debate as it's very broad as you should know. If you can provide me with where it says big government should cease to exist, then I'll debate you.

Don't belitte me because of my age and because my beliefs are different than yous. That's right out of the "republican play book," as Clinton would say. And don't go saying I love Clinton now, because I stole a quote which is wholeheartedly true.

  • I like the government in my pockets. I like high taxes. I like the government run programs. No, I'm not a broke poor person who's leeching the system, so don't even start with the insults.

  • Why?

  • Socialized medicine is a step in the right direction. How does it hurt anyone? Oh yeah, you can't get that new Yacht. Cry me a river. I put other people in front of myself. I think it's my duty to pay higher taxes for the needy if it will help them LIVE. There was so much unity after 9/11 when Americans died. Why can't there be this unity when it comes when all you have to do is take a hit on your income?

  • I like Social Security the way it is. Except for the fact of taking money out, which was set aside for it? And I don't like the idea of people not taking part in it. I'm a stern believer in rights, but I think that a pension system for everyone is a way to keep the streets empty, and crime down. People nowadays are too irresponsible with money.

  • Thats the problem you will NEVER stop the U.S. government from taking it. if our Rule of Law the Constitution can't be adhered to, what makes you think that they won't steal from the social security fund? besides we can earn more through CDs alone than SS.

  • Can you please show me sections in the Constitution that back what you're saying. I tried it with another person, and they seemed to have lost internet connection for the last week, but still can get on to watch videos.

  • I don't like a lot of his stances, especially with education and social security. So he's not getting my vote.

I, however, completely admire his civil rights stance. Takes balls to back the constitution, and not to fall into the trend of scare tactics and smear campaigns.

  • In case you don't know, his stance on Social Security is to keep it running but allow people to not take part in it. That's fair isn't it? Only when everyone decides to get out of the system would it be shut down.

  • Education is a clear example of a public good. Having an education system run by the government can only benefit the society. Having parents "educate" their kids with propaganda and/or racism isn't going to work. Children need to be out and in the diverse world so they can make up their own minds, and not be a product of their parent's beliefs. Yes, I respect my mother's beliefs; don't go attacking me saying I hate my mother, etc., etc.

  • Wow, see when people actually engage Paul on an intellectual level and hear what he has to say, the message is even more eloquent. It's so sad to see people just throw him in the way of tough questions (which he answers brilliantly) instead of hear him out.

  • Only intelligent people can be intellectual. Most reporters are not. This is one of my favorite paul interviews.

  • Wow! The competing currency would really drive the dollar down. We can all buy gold now anyway and I think we should be. roth ira's and roth 401k's are the way to go, so you don't get any future taxes on the money, unless government decides to renig on them.

  • buddymartin71, you can't put savings backed-up by gold because the governent taxes you for that. So it's not viable right now. But Dr. Paul will change that.

  • Ron Paul has a lot of great concepts. he is a little too extreme in some places, so I doubt he could beat hillary or any Democrat. But his extremeness is probably what we need in order to achieve any reforms.

  • Personally, I think he would beat her to the ground. She flip-flops like theres no tomorrow, voted for the Patriot Act, the war in Irak, the continuation of this war until ATLEAST 2013 and supports the war in Iran. Fiscally, Dr. Paul would give her a whopping and would show everyone how her insane promises will bring America down on it's knees financially. On a one on one debate, he would have alot of time to discredit her. She doesn't have the intelligence, honesty and intergrity he possesses.

  • Maybe you are right. Good points. I would love to see that happen.

  • wonderful interview I guess people who deal with business get it

  • True True

  • Mattdvd

You don't find it unusual that every Fed chairman is jewish?

  • very good interview. don't think there was any bias or hidden agenda here.

  • Excluding RP from the debate would destroy the GOP.

  • Elite Elite listen up - you touch 1 hair on RP's head and its on - You greedy donks will go from the 1% to 0% - the ol JFK solution will not fly this time!

  • The head of the fed is jewish.

  • Since when does religion have anything to do with the fed?

  • It's HIGH TIME someone put the Federal Reserve 'Banksters' in their place, they are controlling the world! Only Iran, Cuba and North Korea have yet to succumb to their brut force. Here in Australia we watch you with LOVE, for you can pave the way for the rest of the world.

  • Ron will be in the debate. Fox confirmed it.

  • Shut up.

  • ingorance is bliss, isn't it raudy5000.

  • I hear ya.. just you make history you would think you'd remember, I dont hold it against him at all, and the person below me has a point he got tongue tied.. he almost said it.. but like I said lets give him a number next time he wont forget!

  • RON PAUL IS THE SOLUTION!

  • I hate Republicans, but for some reason I like this dude.

  • why does this interviewer shout???

  • Ron Paul is the most intelligent and most honest politician I have ever seen. Are Americans smart enough to make him president? We can only pray.

  • Great rally today in Philadelphia..Nov. 10..at Independence Hall. Get ready for the Boston Tea Party Money Bomb on Dec. 16. Maybe $7 million dollars in one day...breaking Ron Paul's own all -time record.

  • This is the best interview I've seen in a long time... I can't believe the host actually let Dr Paul talk without interruption!?!?!?

  • I didn't know phil hartman had a show on cnbc. But I digress , people cash in your pennies from your piggy banks, sell stuff on Ebay, donate! We can do this!!!

  • Dillion -- HELP IS ON THE ? When we were attacked on 9/11 did you believe we deserved it? I would bet somewhere deep inside you said to yourself that it is America's policies that invoked 9/11. Am I right?

  • Question for you...Who said we deserved it?

  • Dillion -- HELP IS ON THE ? When we were attacked on 9/11 did you believe we deserved it? I would bet somewhere deep inside you said to yourself that it is America's policies that invoked 9/11. Am I right?

  • absolutely not. The people of the US did not deserve that attack. However, I only wish the attackers were more accurate with their planes. The ones who deserved that attack were the policy makers that are responsible for thousands a innocent deaths in the middle east. NOT AUTHORIZED BY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! There hasn't been a single military action authorized by the people since WWII. Our goverment is no better than a communist dictatorship.

  • now your $ has lost about 10%, and most people have lost $. 'Who' is making $ on a low $?

  • That was great, this was a good interview!

  • they are trying to keep paul hidden for fear of the truth that there is hope for america and not the same ole bullshit we hear every fucking 4 years this man tells it like it is HONEST..

  • Don't post your scumbag spam in a Ron Paul thread, you fat, hairy, overweight old fart.

  • ron paul needs to win this election. It's Americas ONLY hope !!!

  • I'd like to see GWB comment on inflation\montary policy.... it would be hilarious, he'd be stumblin over his words and makin up new words. We need RON PAUL to take charge of this country. Hes got my vote. great video, 5 stars.

  • No, you insulted RP and insulting him is insulting my personal beliefs. Maybe you should try to comprehend things before you go around and insulting things you are so obviously clueless about....

  • RP has been doing this for years!!! He did it to Greenspan and now it's Bernanke's turn. If you're insinuating he's doing it for media attention you sir are on crack!

  • Hopefully americans get to see how a genious and honest man this Ron Paul is.

  • How does he not remember how much money they raised?

  • Yea that caught me as odd too..

Otherwise it was a pretty good interview one of the better ones..

Maybe when we raise 8 million he might remember.. Dec 16th next "money bomb" Boston Tea Party style.

  • hmm looked like he got tongue tied or something. He is 72...hope he doesn't develop Alzheimers like reagan.

  • refreshing.

  • "RP is only throwing gasoline on to the credit crisis/dollar falling problem that we face now."

Bernanke throws Nitro Methane on the Credit Crises everytime he lowers rates.

Big banks made bad loans and now Scream at the Federal Reserve to bail them out to the detriment of the rest of the Country!

Do you think the banks would have made all these loans and Fueled the Credit Cycle if they knew they wouldn't be bailed out by low interest rates?

  • Surely you dont work in the Financial sector, If you do I hope your not managing other peoples money, because you obviously have no Idea what you are talking about.

The First thing EVERYONE THE WORLD OVER needs is a lesson in economics from Ron Paul.

  • Its because this mrfinancial guy has a vested interest in the status quo, and he refuses to think of a new kind of monetary policy that would get us out of our national debt. mrfinancial would rather live life high on the hog, and pass his debt on to your children.

  • He really took him to the woodshed. YYYEEESSS!!!

  • And your solution mrfinancial, Stick your head in the sand and keep perpetuating the system.

Its going to crash either way, the longer you delay it by dropping rates, the worse it will get. Ron Paul is the only person who has come up with a solution to help EASE the coming problems.

You are in alot of trouble and you only have your ignorance and the Federal Reserve to blame.

  • Well mrfinancial, do explain why RP's theory on monetary policy makes him a deusche bag.

  • Ron Paul '08 !

  • Let Ron Paul Ring!

  • This man is the truth

  • Google " Money Masters".

  • Bernanke, the Academia STOOGE, acts as a Front Man, a word spinner, for private Power Wealthy Money men.

Bernanke, a joker, gets paid to lie in front of cameras. That's his job.

Ron Paul tells you the truth. Do you want more than the truth?

  • When the constitution demands gold and silver as the basis of exchange, this implies the market economy should operate according to the barter system, as the way of trading goods and services.

  • Man, RP is on a roll right now. He's everywhere. On every station, radio. Great job to everyone who contributed to the money bomb. Talk about free advertising.

Good interview except for the 3rd party bullshit again and again.

  • It just shows you that money talks!

  • 4:38 and 4:39

whats that big ass sound it didnt even phase ron so i don't think he heard it

musta been a camrea falling on cnbc rofl

  • WOW PINK TIE!

    ROFLLLLLLL

  • lololol

  • If he does that and gets rid of the Federal Reserve and legalize gold and silver as legal tender, like the constitutional says, our economy will SKY ROCKET! Even the traders say so!

    Ron Paul 08!!!

  • And RP also plans to get rid of the IRS as well. Imagine what that would do!

  • I formally announce the 2008 President of the United States of America: President Paul!

How could anyone listen to him and say "No he's wrong". Everything he says makes so much sense. He's going to win. Period.

Keep spreading his message everywhere. I got a stack of those Ron Paul business cards and put them on hundreds of car windshields yesterday.

It took me like 20 minutes. It's easy and it helps get his name around.

  • keep on donating folks

the core of Paul's win will be how much you can do(nate)!

  • A question for those who understand the gold standard: how do you back a currency with gold if a countries economy grows beyond the value of the gold you hold (or say exists in the world)? As a country invents more and become more productive does it not outstrip the value of any single resource? Thanks.

Dr. Paul does say other currencies could be introduced, so maybe he's not banking just on gold, but the constitution does state 'gold and silver', so not sure what he's thinking.

  • I might not be 100% sure about this but I think it's not about how much gold exists in the world, it's about how much the gold is worth.

Gold has a price per ounce in which determines the worth of gold. So $20 dollars, would get you $20 dollars worth of gold at whatever price/ounce that gold is worth.

I think I'm right, but I might be wrong... But it makes sense to me.

  • You are somewhat right but the prevailing point is that if gold went up in price it would be an obvious notable occurance. With 'fiat' money its value is based on 'our good name' and subsequently how much is in circulation. If the Fed put another billion dollars in play, out of thin air, it devalues the money that is already out there. If money is tied to gold the price of gold would go up sharply as more dollars would claim the same gold.

  • I agree that a competing currency is the best way to phase out the Federal Reserve. Lincoln was doing it with the 'greenbacks' he paid soldiers since the int'l banks tried to rip him off with hi rates during the war, he told them to to stick it! Some say its why he was really killed was because he was going to do away with their currency all together. You must remember that the fed is privately owned and make money off the US borrowing. Paul gets it and wants to remove them.

  • I don't necessarily agree that we need to back dollars with gold though. I believe getting rid of the Fed would save the US billions in interest alone plus money would be borrowed from our Treasury and then truly be backed by 'our good name'. Money is not the valuable thing is what it can buy and who will accept it as payment that makes it worth something. If a dollar could buy a house it would be more valuable than if it could only buy a candy bar. Creating more makes it worth less.

  • Thanks for the info. My understanding is that now, money is backed by everything. eg you buy a car or house, the bank loans you the money (which it just created to pay for it) and holds your house as collateral, so in effect, everything we buy and finance backs our currency (which is why the system pushes dept).

  • This is a liquid system, the more that is created, the more dollars are created to represent it. It seems the flaw lies in the banks leveraging the collateral (house, car, etc) to create 10 times more money.

If the money is backed by gold, then the value of the currency is constrained by the amount and value of the gold (as decided my the market).

  • So what happens when the economy grows, but the stock of gold stays the same? I guess the fed could buy more gold, which would also increase the price of this one useful commodity, but at some point couldn't the economy outstrip the amount of gold? And wouldn't it artificially hamper services that used gold? (i.e. high end electrical components)

  • when the economy grows, the value of the gold backed dollars will grow, meaning you can buy more stuff, thus continueing the growth.

  • Good fair interview, although you can hear him announce the lineup following him that will likely try to discredit a lot of it. Ron Paul needs more air time. All Ron all the time!

  • Good to hear Ron say that he isnt thinking about running as a 3rd party. He is full force ahead!!! That is what is needed to inspire people to believe he is in this to win!

  • Ron Paul is spot on.

  • Excellent interview. About time we have a presidential candidate talking about the Fed and fiat money.

    RON PAUL 2008

  • Sweet - I've never someone mention Hayek in a pres. candidate interview.

    GO RON PAUL!

  • This Ron Paul guy might know what he is talking about. How can we discredit him now? back to the fox spin room...

  • Kudlow's voice makes me instantly hungover...otherwise, this is great. for those of you who didn't see it, you should check out the full clip of Ron Paul vs. Bernanke. Bernanke is actually left completely speechless, and someone in the audience laughs in the awkward silence.

  • With every interview of Ron Paul, I am more impressed with his command of the issues that really matter. The other candidates are not even talking about monetary policy, but money affects every single person in the US.

I have donated and am supporting Ron Paul for President. My portfolio demands it.

  • Wow - he will be a president who can think and even talk coherently. A big change from the Bush presidency.

  • god bless ron paul

  • I love to see the media mentioning the pillars of Austrian economics.

  • He seems like an honest man, (Paul), with some good ideas. I think he'll do better in the election than some people think he's going to. Please view searchword wilburjr-thanks.

  • A presidential candidate talking about Hayek and Road to Serfdom, a pundit on TV talking about the Constitution of Liberty. Talking about elevating the discurse. On one side Ron Paul who understands economy on the other the fomer mayor, the mormon millonaire and the hollywood actor. Anybody has a problem making his/her mind?

Great job Kudlow !! Get him for a full 30 minutes interview.

  • Ron Paul is brilliant. Every video I watch amazes me. He is a true man FOR THE PEOPLE! Ron Paul 2008!

  • CNN's CAROL COSTELLO ADMITS LACK OF MEDIA COVERAGE FOR RON PAUL

    /watch?v=M_1-Ubolr_o

  • Carol is hot!:) I will check that link ty:)

  • ROFL not even Ron Paul understands how this grass root movement is working. It wasn't one guy in Florida who did all of this, it was all of this. They just can't comprehend how we're doing all of this without a centralized form of leadership.

  • We're all leaders! And we're all workers! We each must do whatever we can within our power to get this man elected.

This is a lot of fun, this r3V0Lution, isn't it? :-)

  • Our economy is going down the tubes and no one is at the helm of the ship. We need Ron Paul NOW or we are doomed!

  • I don't think any other candidate could have an intelligent discussion about monetary policy.

  • Intelligent discussion? They don't even know what monetary policy is. RP was excellent in this interview and awesome with Bernanke in Congress.

  • Isn't Paul smart? He is it!

    Posted on:

    RONPAULFORPRESIDENT2008. COM

  • Yay, Friedrich Hayek! Go Austrian Economists, and go Ron Paul!!! This was a pretty fun interview -- lots of light moments. I love Ron Paul!

  • Great Job! This video has been added to the lineup at: FreeMe (dot) TV - MARYLAND Don't forget to register Republican before November 19th to vote for Ron Paul! - more info at RonPaulNation. com

  • Assest bubbles (stock, housing etc) are the side effect of too many dollars looking for some place to go.

  • Lol, the whole point Ron Paul makes is the bad loans helped along by the Fed in previous years. It is because of people like you not understanding this stuff that your pathetic country is finally crumbling, and fast. Ron Paul is your last hope.

You are living in cloud cuckooland Yank. I can buy 2.25 of your silly dollars with my pounds.

  • You're the nut! There's no easy answer, moron! The real problem is the dollar isn't worth the dirt in your ears. I'm not sure who's more anti-America, Bernanke, China, or the Middle East? The credit fallout was certainly the catalyst but it's by no means the root. Your username is a misnomer that's for sure....

  • we have competing debt

  • I was never a big fan of Kudlow. But I'm pleasantly surprised at him giving Dr Paul a fair shake in this interview.

  • Awesome. "Competiting currency--let the market figure it out." Is this guy God or what? If Ayn Rand was alive she'd be out kicking ass and taking names for this man. I'm going to send this guy another $100 today. :)

  • That $100 investment will surely pay off several times over. Either when the income tax ceases to exist or when we can transition into a currency that is rising not falling.

  • That loud banging in the background after the 3 minute mark scared the crap out of me. It sounded like gun shots at first.

  • He will get the nomination! I see him taking the oath!

  • RUDY WISHES HE COULD SPEAK LIKE THIS

  • but he is still reading Econ 101

  • He hasn't even read the 9/11 commission report so Econ 101 is a bit far in Rudy's queue of must reads.

  • Ron Paul has fired up a generation. Old, young, men, women, cats dogs, we will all vote for Ron Paul!

  • Man.. I mean, you don't get this out of ANY of the other candidates. You get fluff, you get platitudes, you get double talk, you get spin, you get non answers, you get side stepping... basically, you get a whole lot of bullshit.

Ron Paul answers the questions and shows he knows what he's talking about (if you agree with him or not). Why anyone would pick one of those other mindless tools is beyond me.

  • Wow, that was quite a tone change from Dr.Paul's previous appearance on Kudlow, when Kudlow talked over Dr. Paul and cut him off. Kudlow has been an agressive cheerleader for Fed Fund rate reductions and bailouts for strained financial companies.

Has Kudlow gotten religion? I doubt it, but we can hope. Redemption is always available to repentent sinners.

  • RON PAUL IS FREEDOM.

  • Ron Paul gets it. Unlike anyone I've ever seen in American politics.

Our next door neighbor, Canada, loves Ron Paul. Doesn't that tell you something important?

We should care what our global neighbors think of us as a nation.

Vote for Dr. Ron Paul. The man has more integrity than any other candidate. Vote for principled diplomacy and a strong America.

    Vote for Dr. Ron Paul.

  • Word!

  • Get out and tell people about Ron. Every time he speaks...NOBODY can touch his economic knowledge. Do you think Hillary or Rudy could ever question The Fake Federal Reserve like RP Can! Very Important. Buy Silver!

  • Brilliant piece. Funny on how you don't see many other candidates tackling this issue.

  • Look at the ticker on the bottom of the screen at the 5 min mark.

  • I mean at 5:12

  • Kudlow reminds me of Ali G for some reason.

  • That was a GREAT interview! (Except for the shirt and tie.)
