Yes, thats right.... it is also important that you use the correct wavelength also. It doesn't do a whole lot of good to give a ton of watts if its not being used by the symbiotic algae in the corals. Wavelengths 420 nm and 460 are the most important, which will grow corals very well even using very low wattage led lights. Just do your research on lighting products and you should do just fine... i think the best bet would be a nice power compact 420/460 mixed with 10k daylight from current :)
i have a question, how many watts do you need to grow coral and annenomies and alll. i heard it was 3-5 watts per gallon i have a 29 gallon tank so i would need around 87- to 145 watts?
