I'm not an Essendon supporter but I think season 1993 was one of the best seasons ever for the AFL. They don't play it like this anymore and that is a shame. The funny thing was that in 1993 the AFL was pooping its pants over the rise basketball as a sport in Australia which would lure all the good tall kids away.

Big Sticks Kernahan was fantastic. 12 months later Carlton went on to have arguably the best season of football in history.

1995 was Carlton's season of 20 wins and two losses in the H+A season.

Carlton finished second in 1994 and bombed out in the finals in straight sets.

Geelong probably had the momentum to win but did not make the finals.

Adelaide probably should have beaten Essendon and then won the premiership.

Carlton finished top and never looked like winning the premiership.

The Bombers came from no where and won it!
