I appreciate why so many prefer this, but to me, Angela's interpretation is too derivative of others. It's very old-school. Which is fine, just not my taste. I find Renee Fleming's interpretation fresher and "younger." Violetta here seems far too "mature" a woman, and there's an old-school affectation.
I do recognize her skill, though, and know others may not agree.
Wonderful pairing of very compatible, expressive voices. It's very satisfying to see a new TRAVIATA performed by musical artists in idiomatic Italian style without annoying vocal mannerisms. Thanks for posting.
