It's weird how he uses blob brush, but the lines seem to allow having some correction or direction to be set as he draws them, a'la bezier curves pen tool. Anyone knows how he accomplishes this?

@hathiphnath Pen pressure settings (Wacom Tablet) perhaps? It allows you to very the thickness of the lines and also the angle you hold the stylus at can be used to control a second variable as you draw.

@austntexan I am certainly not going to disagree with that statement, however I think you're getting the wrong assumption on what kind of time was wasted. If people are looking for a tutorial on youtube, they expect a tutorial. Not some cheap cash-out time-lapse. And finally: you can not tell it's a speed paint 6 seconds in, many art tutorials start out with time lapse before getting into the explanation, some people might figure it out about about :20 when he gets in-detail, some longer.

I'm drawing many years know and simply learned to draw every kind of hair. So talent is superstition. Depending on your poorness (your inferiority complex) you develop either a hate on it or a so called talent, and in the end it's simple training.

@sprinter223 the difference basically is that photoshop is a pixel (dealing with tiny dots) based program and illistrator is a vector based program (mathematically caculated paths.) one isn't really "better" than the other there just suited for different things illustrator is good for solid lines and blocks of color but not great for blending or doing photo manipulation thats strictly a photoshop thing but you can do line work in photoshop just as well as illistrator. good luck

cool. how are you making your strokes look like they are pressure sensitive? Wacom tablet? Width tool? In photoshop you can stroke a path and simple select the pressure sensitive option to get the effect. In illustrator, I still have not found an easy way. Thanks!
