I remember, when I first heard this song.. I wrote the lyrics down and gave them to my girlfriend at the time.. We were in a tough spot in our relationship. So she left me when I gave her the lyrics, but now, when I hear this song, I come to realize that nothing was my fault. She wasn't the one. And it was her loss, not mine. Thank God for Insomnium!

Hah, in spite of having their tracks on my harddisk, I prefer to hear them in youtube always.. the comments section of Insomnium's songs is always a treat to read, as all the discussion is about the sheer brilliance of their music and not some shitty comparisons and crap talk, which you find a lot in other bands music. I so very much hope this band becomes so popular, but at the same time, they should never change the music they make, which has happened a lot with other great bands in the past.

haha, wait a few more weeks and you will start praising 75% of their tracks. The instrumentals and the epic 7+ minute songs are insanely awesome, and then you have the great atmospheric tracks as well in the last 2 albums.. so there really aren't too many moderately good songs. all that Insomnium touch turns into platinum ^^

I don't actually like mortal share as much as the rest (not to say that it isn't amazing)

It seems like Insomnium writes there melodies with love in mind, rather than hate, or anger or anything else unpleasant. True the lyrics may be about love gone bad, but the sheer beauty of all the instrumentals is more sophisticated and superior in most other ways to most other metal. Including bands like Kalmah, Opeth, and most others compared to insomnium on youtube.

completely agree. I find many other tracks of Insomnium much better than mortal share, but it seems that the video released with Mortal Share has a lot to do with its popularity. Stuff like Daughter of the Moon, Weighed down with sorrow, Bereavement, Killjoy, Since the day it all came down, at the gates of sleep,

Couldn't agree with you more. I also didn't like Mortal Share, but then i heard The Elder, and so In The Halls of Awaiting (the song) And In The Groves Of Death. Now i like all of their songs. Every song does simply have something amazing to it. either the riffs or the lyrics. Insomniums riffs and lyrics are the best you can find IMO. It's much more sophisticated than Opeth i would say.

This song is just pure awesomeness. So intense, so beautifull, I could listen to this song over and over and over again. The whole album Above the Weeping World is just insanely good and its one of few albums where I didn't even consider downloading it, I instantly bought it and it was worth every penny.
