The PC version does not have any of these problems. I have both the PC & PS3 version of the game so I know what I'm talking about.

Good ,but not as good as games like Uncharted 3.

The engine may have the technical capabilities and the pc is way more powerfull than a console ,but this game lacks the art direction ,the artistic approach to create truly breathtaking visuals .

Without the human touch no amount of processing power or engine tools can make the experience unforgettable.

I just installed this today (2-16-2012) and I cannot tell you guys how much of a difference it made. The game is so much more worth it now. After playing Batman AC and BF3, Crysis was just not the same anymore. So I went searching and found the files I needed and it was well worth it. I use a cracked version so the procedure is a couple steps different but super easy for anyone with some know how. I think I will post a video providing files for the game and patches to help the unfortunate out.

@StiansNorskeNyheter - It is indeed. If you want even more, check out Blackfire's Mod 2. It adds in some nice effects with lighting and stuff. Plus it comes with the ShonE Quality Mod which has some nice DoF. And it has the hundreds of improved textures from the MaLDo HD Texture pack. It makes the game a lot better.

@uzuhl2 Maybe. Do you enable Vsync and force high quality anisoptric filtering in nVidia control panel? I turned those off and pretty much doubled my framerate, it's almost playable at 1440*900, still get dips into the mid 20's though. :(

So all of these particle effects are done by the game without a physics engine? I don't see any physics mentioned. If so, that means nvidia failed pretty good with physx. Maybe it's just about how you code the games, if you code them to require a physics processor, then of course you need nvidia to display it. But that's corrupt marketing.

I'll be honest I don't think I'll ever need graphics better than that. If they're not already perfect, we can certainly see the horizon for perfect movie quality graphics. I started playing videogames in 1989, I could never even imagine graphics like this. I think we're within 5 years of having truly perfect graphics. @OffDWallNotDRack It depends. It's like one of those things where if you've never seen better you can't imagine how much better it actually CAN be. For example, physics is really lacking in games. Physics is one area I really want to see progress forward. Most games that do have physics uses predetermined physics. Simply because our hardware isn't powerful enough to do advanced life-like real-time physics in a real product like a video game.

Yeah, because the overpriced brand: Alienware's practically the only reason people tend to keep PC gaming is expensive.

PCs with hardware good enough to max out Crysis 2 are sold for under a thousand dollars by custom PC builders, they come even cheaper when you build it yourself.

Also, console owners do lose the money of building a PC somewhere, that's in the prices of games in comparison to Steam sales on PC and of course, in subscription fees like Xbox Live. Money gone anyway.
