How to install Wine in Ubuntu 9.04

you must be having the package manager open somewhere else. Try rebooting and either finding wine through the package manager -OR- don't do anything except open a terminal and type: sudo apt-get install wine

i just go ubuntu and im having a hard time watching videos in you tube i think i have flash installed but i have to click the open in new window button to view them and if i pause during video it stops playing for good i have to open in new window again whats wrong somebody ... anybody?

I don't know if this will help you but... I installed it by installing the tar.gz or something like that... Extract it to somewhere on your desktop... Open a terminal and type sudo mv "Name of extracted file" /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ and it should of installed! Hope this helped...

That is completely normal! It doesn't show what you type just make sure you type it right

this is a security feature and totally normal. Just type your password and hit enter. It doesn't want anyone seeing how LONG your password is :)

uhmm...in terminal when i write the code, asks for pass, i write pass, it said exactly... :

i think your password is to short i had this problem i then changed my password and it worke either that or your not typing it in fast enough

Ok what you need to do is type your password first and when your done typing your password it will ask you if it is ok to install Wine and then type Y then enter. Let me know if it works.
