I hate pulling them out of the water before stringing them because people dont understand just how strong the fish really are in water and how they can really tear your hands up when they start to wiggle so I happen to string them up before I pull them up and out of the water because I dont want to take the chance of them pulling and tearing them self away from me also me and my family do eat them we dont just catch them then let them go also like this if you understand how strong catfish are.
I don't care if it's illegal =] We do it anyway. I live in Phily, but you need to watch out & be careful cuz it's dangerous. Read this vid's description.
@ChuckaXr, thats odd... can you tell me the travel patterns of bobcats, bears, deer, or coyotes?.. how about the population cycle of rabbits?... the terms for male and female rabbits? how about how to shut the hell up when ou are more ignorant to nature than any hunter trapper or fisherman is to anthing else...??
@ChuckaXr Their not actually, the one's your probably thinking of are the full on fisher and hunter's but usually their smarter about that subject, We aren't full on, doing it as a lifestyle kind of family!
you know its illegal to noodle/hand fish catfish and put the stringer in them before you get them out of the water? you have to get them out of the water before you can stringer them. thats how you really noodle/handfish.
Noodling is legal in the following states: Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Kansas, Illinois, Arkansas, and Missouri.
@huntin4live Kansas. It's legal to noodle here but you have to have them completely out of the water and visibly caught before you can put them on a stringer.
@NateSchnier hahaha I hate pulling them out of the water before stringing them because people dont understand just how strong the fish really are in water and how they can really tear your hands up when they start to wiggle so I happen to string them up before I pull them up and out of the water because I dont want to take the chance of them pulling and tearing them self away from me
Anytime you Street Gang guys wanna get it on with some good Ole Country boys. Let me know cause I wanna sell tickets. And let us know who your next of kin is so we can bury your ass.
@zack7jones go through the bank put ur foot in a hole then wen u feel a bite on ur foot (U WILL NO IT TRUST ME) and take it off and put a stringer in it!

@mattnorman07 yeah ive been going before i could swim to and im only 15 soooooo if u keep talking all this crap put a video up and show me how its done STOP talking about what you know and SHOW me PLZ
@priegelienie because the fish are obviously already caught its the same fish in several scenes...and as a noodler its easy to tell 90% of the places these guys are pulling the fish out of there is nowhere for the fish to even have a hole...hes just simply got the fish on a stringer already down in the water and the guy turns on the camera and the kid pulls up the fish...
@priegelienie you catch one out of some tiny rocks...and then ones in ankle deep water beside a log and hes conveniently already holding the fish...and then you catch one under a limb that fell out of a tree...was that one holed up in those twigs? sorry to rain on your parade
@mattnorman07 I have been to this location in Kingfisher. There are plenty of locations for them to hide, I've had my hands in them as well. Some people just string them underwater to avoid getting hurt or losing the fish.
@yoteslaya What ever makes you happy man... i know what i know and ive been noodling sence before i could swim my dad made me wear a life jacket... look at the kid at 2:05 you can see the fish sitting there in the water ... im sorry but a cat would never spawn there its basically open water... i use bigger line to catch perch then their stringer... enough said i rest my case
@zack7jones not true. big flats PREFER live food. But they will eat most things catfish eat. ive cought alot of flats on chicken livers and bacon while channel fshing.
@fandizzle Actually no, they will eat gobs of stinky dead stuff but they are mostly predisposed to eating live forage and are the most predatory of North American catfish. My largest so far is 41 lbs. I don't claim to be an expert but I've caught a lot of them with my hands, bluegill, and chicken liver. I feel much more at ease with flatheads then I do grabbing anything with barbels.... especially a knotty headed, mean ass blue cat. They'll tear you up.
@BMX0UNFAMOUS0BMX Hey go nuts try it.the best place I know noodling would work is up North West Territories or the Yukon.Mid june to late july all the pig Pikes are in the weeds in 1-3 feet of water.
@BMX0UNFAMOUS0BMX You just gonna have to fly up here. It's pretty far(3000+miles) I wouldn't wanna drive it.Just get on a plane to Whitehorse(Yukon) then rent a camper and go FISHING

OK, are the catfish just sitting there? Don't they try to escape when they feel your hands touching them? That's the part no one explains.
MisterJohnMorales 8 months ago
@MisterJohnMorales
They do try to escape about half the time. It depends if they have big hole to back up into. If not, they often try to run out.
