  • Thanks a lot! It worked! I've tried a few anti-spyware/malware programs that just wouldn't get rid of it, but this one did it easily. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the video! I was going crazy trying to figure out what it was and how to get rid of it. Thanks for the link to the TDDS Killer too. It really helped remove it! <3

  • Well, this virus remover wiped my redirect virus and wiped out all of my internet settings and I could not run system restore .. or in fact anything. By some miracle, using smartlink and attaching myself to my partners computer, running my service disc.. I came back and now am working perfectly, but it was pretty hit and miss.

  • Thanks so much!!!!!!

  • i scanned with both of these and it didnt help :/ i even used malwatre bytes. help me :(

  • Thanks so much this virus was driving us crazy. So far it has solved the problem but we will watch to see if it comes back as others have posted. we really appreciate it!!!!

  • I have this and it worked at first. Then my computer restarted itself and now it's back. ;'(

  • The second link worked for me. Thank you so much. You are great.

  • A big thank you to you for this, it solved my problem :)

  • Whoa thanks so soo much! I can't believe how fast the symantic TDSS tool ran and removed it (as far as i can tell). SO grateful i'm sure we all appreciate it!

And you have a nice voice. I found myself responding to you through the video.

  • kaspersky only found one "suspicious" object that was put in quarantine. The 2nd program is running now.. hope it works!

  • the TDSS Fix Tool didn't find anything either... and Google is still redirecting. :(

  • Sorry, this video didn't help me, although it was very nice to watch and your instructions easy to follow. However, someone else recommended Malwarebytes which fixed the problem for me! :) So maybe you would like to link that freeware to your video as well!

  • thx now i dont have to explain to my mom y random porn sites pop up :D

  • Worked for me. THX

  • It worked! Thank you so much!!

  • Had to startup in safe mode to run TDSS , but worked well for me Thanks from me :)

  • I cannot thank you enough ... i was scared i had to restore my computer but i think i got it in the nick of time. It was so weird. I literally got it one day when i was searching google images and then pwoop! everything fucked up. Mine was called 95p or mediashifting. Watch out for that shit

  • Thank you sooo much you saved my computer!!

  • Kasperskys showed me that there was no virus found on my computer. I ran the symantac too and did everything you said. But the virus is still there. What do I do? I really dont want to have to restore my whole system. Please help. :(

  • thanks a lot! casper worked good! seems it's gone now! but before ruining casper I remove a weird extension from my Firefox that was directing me to bing search engine! then i deleted that with caspersky and now that I'm running my antivirus "PC tools internet security" it's been removed! I just don't know if that extension was involved! anyway your video was useful :) thats

  • Thanks a lot 4 the post now i can use my computer again..... :)))))))))

  • None of steps in this video worked for me, would doing a system restore from a early date remove the virus?

  • @carreraGT92 It depends. Sometimes the virus will embed itself in the system restore files and get restored with the rest of your PC.

  • @techwizzkid24 Ok thanks for replying, your a good man.

  • U r a genius I had to use Symantec though japery didnt work...the MBR was affected with a virus

  • KASPERSKEY Works!!! YOU MUST START YOU COMPUTER ON SAFE MODE TO VIEW THE VIRUS.. TDSS Killer doesent work becuase the virus got smarter and change it's file name. Down load "kaspersky virus removal tool 2011" START window on SAFE MODE by holding F8 when windows start. Open "kaspersky virus removal tool" and SCAN for virus. THIS WORKS 100%.

  • I tried using kasperskey and it said nothing is wrong with my computer/ no virus/ but i still have the redirect virus!!!! I've tried all kinds of anti virus programs but none will find the virus!!!! i even used the other tdsskiller (symantec) and it says my system is fine. This virus is so annoying!!!! Is there a way to remove it manually???? Thanks in advance!!!

  • Thanks for taking the time to develop this video. You are the best!

I downloaded TDDSkiller but it would not start. I ran Symantec which, somehow triggered MS Security Essentials telling me to delete Trojan:DOS/Alureon.E. Then I was able to run TDDSkiller which didn't find any additional problems.

As a side benefit, Google homepage displays all my gadgets again. The fact that they would not display was the first sign of a problem.

Let's hope I don't see this mess again...

    Thanks

  • @graylobster Great! I'm glad that worked out for you!

  • Thanks a lot man. Kaspersky's tool would not open no matter what I did to it. Symantec's worked perfectly and rid the virus. But about 5 mins later, my laptop blue-screened. Do you know if this is normal? Should I be okay now?

  • @Thunder4400 Ya, like I said, sometimes the virus actually sees the kasperskey tool and prevents it from running. I wouldn't be alarmed with the bluescreen quite yet, but if you do see it again post here or send me a message about what it says. The virus itself embeds into critical windows files and if the file is corrupted you might get some bluescreens.

  • Thankyou! TDSS Killer Works!! And free no charge! All these websites and videos that say free scan but want your credit card to fix they are the same people that create the virus. If you pay for the removal they steal your credit card.

The clue is always "free scan" means "FREE SCAM" only trust people like this that prove their is no charge , the rest are part of the CRIMEWARE scam syndicate

  • thnks .

  • The scanner said no threats and i tried clicking on a link in google plz help

  • in my case the Kaspersky tool didn't worked. But the Symantec gave me "***Infected MBR detected" and apparently it repaired it. But my google redirects happened exporadically, so let's see

  • Hmm, now system won't start

  • @HenriTrakinasXD Does it bluescreen? It probably infected a system file and it will have to be replaced. What operating system are you on?

  • @techwizzkid24 I use Windows 7. Yep, it showed a bluescreen but some stuff was written off-screen.

I had kind of a emergency to use my computer (needed it to work) so i had to install a new windows 7 quickly (windows 7 installation automatically backups the old files). The shame is that i don't know exactly what was the problem. Still, i really appreciate your help and kindness!! It's really hard to see helpers who actually answer questions on Youtube. Thank you so much! =)

  • @HenriTrakinasXD No problem, I try to when I can. After all, this is what I do for a living (Computer Support that is). You probably just had to perform a repair or a chkdsk on the system, but at least you got it up and running again.

  • @techwizzkid24 well, since you help other people i may help you help other people with my experience :)

    well, i tried chkdsk, it didn't worked :p (i used /r /f etc)

  • @HenriTrakinasXD that's really odd. Unfortunately it does happen sometimes where the viruses infected a system file pretty badly. You could also try a "sfc /scannow" from an elevated command prompt. (It searches for missing or damaged system files and fixes them). I haven't had much luck with that though.

  • Also, this was very helpful! Now I can actually click on links. (:

  • Could you tell me a good anti-virus I can download? Thanks :)

  • i scanned and it says there was no threat so i restored my system and there still is something on my computer because im still getting redirected please help and send the link to the second tdss removal program

  • My g/f had this on her Sony VAIO laptop and the virus disabled .exe files, so TDSSKiller wouldn't run!!!

In the end, the only way to run it was by putting it on a Memory Stick from a clean computer, CHANGE ITS NAME!! (To K.com or anything really), insert the memory stick into the infected comp and RUN IT FROM THAT LOCATION.

This was the ONLY way i could get this amazing tool to do its job.

(There's a reg file called FixNCR.reg which will change the .exe corruption back too)

  • @GuyMagicFingers Yea there are some simple batch scripts online that fix file associations for exact reasons like this. Glad you got it all back up and running again.

  • ok..TDSSkiller is reporting my computer is clean but I'm still being redirected.

  • @jarel101 As I've said there is also a couple other things you can try. Go to the ctrl panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter settings > Right click your connect and hit properties. Go down to IPV4 and make sure both the settings are set to automatic. Also, may I ask what web browser you are using?

  • @techwizzkid24 yes both of my settings are set to automatic, and I'm using firefox

  • @jarel101 Ok, check your proxy settings in firefox. Go to the menu > options > Advanced > Network Tab > Under Connections click settings. Make sure that's set to 'No Proxy". Also, run the program Hostsxpert and make sure your hosts file is correct. (Sorry YT won't let me link directly to it.)

  • @techwizzkid24 I have a question would setting my computer back to an early restore point solve my problem I haven't tried that yet?

  • @jarel101 It may. Sometimes viruses will embed themselves into your OS that even a system restore won't fix it. It's worth a shot after you try my above fixes!
